So. From my POV as a cook, an Italian place has to get two things exactly right: sauce and pasta. And while nothing I ate from this kitchen was hateful, I can't say I'm impressed by the execution of the twin necessities. I ordered the chicken parm dinner and got a sauce that was very dried-oregano-forward and pasta that was overcooked and obviously not finished in the sauce from al dente. Big sins. The final plate was good--like, home cooked good--but it's not what I'm looking for when I'm promised authentic Italian. Simple adjustments to when and how dried and/or fresh herbs are added to the sauce should be made; Al dente pasta finished in its final sauce would be a luxurious improvement. And consider a brinier cook water for the pasta. On the other hand, the tiramisu was fookin epic and I would gladly eat my weight of this house-made wonderment. Very nice dessert. Service is great, and the front of house all were very friendly and engaged. Pick-up order was ready right on time, tho next time I might spend some time in the dining room and dig a little deeper into their comprehensive menu. I will be reaching out to the Department of Consumer Affairs to determine if it is legal for you to charge a "Local Service Fee". $1.49 charge to your customers for no benefit is ridiculous and possibly not legal. Additionally, cut down on the olive oil, your pizza is greasy and messy. I will most likely not be ordering food from you in the future. read more

Seriously great spot to call in and pick up then take to Gypsy Hill Park for a picnic. Great subs, amazing pizza that is t overloaded with sauce or bread so you can actually taste the flavors of the pizza. So good, ya gotta try it out. read more

Best Pizza in Staunton. If you go to the restaurant the service is great, and it has a full menu for your Italian urges. The effort goes into the food not the building, so it is not what I would call fancy, but it is clean and comfortable. They will deliver whatever is on the menu, and I have often ordered 12-15 large pizzas with no issues read more

Not only one of the best italian restaurants I've eaten from, but one of the best restaurants in general. They have a very wide range of food items for all to enjoy, and each new item I eat from there is a genuine joy. Their pizza is a favorite among my family and those I know who have eaten there. Their desserts are so nice sometimes we order dinner there just to eat them. I'm partial to the apple tart and peanut butter pie, and my boyfriend loves the cheesecake. Their appetizers are also amazing-- such good bacon cheese fries. Anyways, I could go on and on about this place, but I don't want to leave more of a book than I've already written. I have said before that if this place ever goes out of business, my whole family and many others I know would have a very hard time coping... tldr; Love this place and highly recommend it! read more

It's ok. Nothing special about it at all. I've only had pizza there. One thing that is consistent, either they have run out of sauce or putting a decent amount of sauce on the pizza would shoot the price up to $100. I always get dipping sauce. Come folks, make it saucier. read more

This place is fine for generic pizza and Italian food, but I wouldn't call it delish, it was just ok Came for lunch and got lasagne, a Calzone, fried appetizers, Stromboli and Italian sub. Calzone and Stromboli were good size, lots of cheese with a side of sauce. I judge pizza/Italian joints by their sauce and this had decent (though not excellent) flavor. Lasagne noodles al dente and cooked well. For the sub, it was just ok. Slim, not overstuffed with meat and fries/chips need to be purchased separately. Overall prices were ok, nothing to write home about. Came on a Saturday and didn't have to wait for a table. COVID-19 safety: waitstaff wore a mask at all times and they had 2 cup holders for pens--one for used pens and the other for sanitized ones. Thought this was a cute ideaj! read more

Food was very good. Our waitress was exceptional. Staff in general were friendly and talkative. My complaint came at checkout. I used my debit card to pay. When clerk handed me the receipt to sign there was a $1.47 nca charge. The clerk explained that was the fee for using a card. To me that's the costs of doing business. I'm sure the majority of your customers use cards these days. Don't blatantly charge your customers for this. Simply raise the price of your menu items by 10 cents and we'd never notice. The restaurants that have done this to me don't get my business anymore. We all know that your expenses are reflected in the menu price. $1.47 opens my eyes to nickel and diming. We came here for lunch while out of town on a conference. We order two slices of pizza, wings and cheese garlic bread. I changed my mind after I ordered the appetizer and my waitress made me commit to ordering it because it was already in the oven. I was a tad bit upset about that. But luckily the person I was with stated that she would eat it and would split the chicken that I was ordering. The chicken was definitely great. I had just regular wings, not the spicy or bbq. They are breaded wings just to beware. The pizza is definitely lacking flavor. I was a little disappointed but I still ate it. The customer service was sub-par. We ordered two subs with a side of fries and onion rings. The food itself was great, but you pay almost $4 to only get 5 little onion rings. We go back and the manager accuses us of eating some before coming back. She also states that it comes with 8 onion rings, then throws our order away to bring us a new one. She was rude and unhappy to help us. When we get our replacement order it has 6 onion rings. After she just told us it was 8. Will not be returning. Not worth it. read more

I have lived here since Oct 2022, and always get great service, good food, and feel full when I leave. I rotate on entrees, and find their Stromboli is VERY tasty, and I enjoy Seafood Fettuccine. The prices are reasonable in comparison with some of the other restaurants in the area. Modification, and special orders are never a problem. I will continue to visit. read more

Excellent pizza. Reminds me of pizza from NYC. The dough is thin and delicious with the right amount of cheese and sauce. Some might prefer a little more sauce, but I like pizza on the dry side. The pizza gives the restaurant 4 stars, but I cant give the restaurant 5 stars because the fried mushroom and wings were just so-so. One of the very best Margherita pizzas I've ever had. Very good Cesar dressing. If I had to give one little piece of advice to make the Cesar salad the best - cut up bread a little smaller and toast a little more. I asked for a Margherita pizza well-cooked ... what I got was a soggy, sloppy barely cooked pizza. With thick slabs of way too much Mozzarella (not melted of course). Granted I called 40 minutes before closing. The person on the phone said "45 minutes." It was delivered in approx. 20 minutes ... which would explain why the pizza was not cooked. The pizza was disgusting. For the Caesar salad, the dressing was undoubtedly from a supermarket brand bottle. Otherwise, it might have been all right if not too wet. The cheese cake, which is made in-house, was almost literally a block of cream cheese on a graham crust with a smear of strawberry juice on it. I have gotten pizza from this place before, and it was not this bad. I don't know if I will risk ordering from Stella Mia Pizzeria a third time. I just got back from New York, and this pizza does in no way resemble a New York-style pie. read more

I have NEVER left a review for any restaurant but I am so disappointed with my "Caprese Panini" that I feel it's the only way to list all of my grievances. The sandwich is neither a panini nor does it do a caprese any justice. I literally got toasted white bread with 3 SMALL/THIN slices of ROMA tomatoes with barely any mozzarella, gross warm romaine and an insane amount of basil that was just brown and wilted. Who uses pitiful, flavorless romas for anything with caprese in the name?! That aside, if it had even just had a few more slices of tomatoes I would've been happy. Also, it's listed as having a balsamic reduction but it just comes with a side of balsamic dressing which is definitely NOT the same. I have been in the restaurant industry my whole life and Im pretty sure I could've gone to subway for a veggie sub that was cheaper and more satisfying. Come on guys...don't throw a vegetarian dish on the menu if you're not going to deliver. read more

My wife, Kim and I took a chance at lunch with our 1st visit to Tony's. We knew right away when we were met at the door that the service would be good. We had no idea how good. Our server knew the menu cold, and answered several direct, specific questions about dishes we might order. The calzones were remarkable .... crisp and creamy. Our server took care of us the whole time, and the tea was great. We topped off lunch with house made cheesecake and tiramisu. Must have for anyone trying dessert! Stopped in for lunch with friends and ended up staying over two hours. The lasagna and ziti lunch portions were so large that to go boxes were needed. I devoured my gyro and,when presented with peanut butter pie, scarfed up that as well. The food is awesome and the service welcoming and attentive. Great experience! read more

Wow the food was sooooo good, except the bread was a little dry. I got the clam pasta and he got the alfredo pasta. Both were delish. We started out with an order of bacon cheese fries and wow the fries were cooked to perfection. Perfect crunch. And we both had the Caesar salad which was great. Just finished eating half of my large Margherita pizza, which I can truthfully say is one of the best I have ever eaten anywhere. There are several things that make Stella Mia's version outstanding : first, that they use both fresh tomatoes and fresh basil, that the pie is dotted with generous 50 cent sized warm and gooey pieces of Mozzarella cheese instead of the usual shredded strings, that the crust is moist with olive oil that I delightedly licked off my fingers, and uniquely, that they also used fresh garlic, which gave the Margherita an added zesty taste I haven't found at any other restaurant. And the crust was almost perfect: crisp, chewy, and delicious at the same time, but the olive oil near the V tip of the pie softened it so much that it didn't want to hold the topping at that end. Therefore, it might be best to order the Sicilian crust for this pie instead of the NY style thin crust, but that was the only tiny fault I could find with an otherwise great pizza. I was able to phone in the order; nice not to have to put in an order in the internet. Delivery was sooner than expected and the young lady who delivered it was smiling and pleasant. read more
