This food is delicious. Their truck was at Tioga beer garden. I really wanted the ramen but was…read moresharing so went with the Mazesoba which is essentially dry ramen bowl. It. Was. So. Goodt! We also each ordered a smoked salmon onigiri: a triangle of sesame seed covered rice stuffed with smoked salmon and wrapped in seaweed. So damn good! Actually, I knew this food was going to be scrumptious because I had recently started following them on Instagram where they posted all their cooking preparations ahead of time - go check them out if you're into food porn. Obviously, I highly recommend this food truck. (I think they also operate Pacific Fried Chicken which I've been meaning to try and appears highly rated.) Service was also great and food came out in a good amount of time. Next time I need to try the coffee; it sounded interesting flavors and later I saw it came bottled.

Ok so I went to the pop up in the tower district for this restaurant. I was not planning on liking…read moreit. But I did. The more I ate of the fried chicken ramen the more I was craving it. I can't explain it. Never had nothing like it in my life. The line was long, the menu was tiny and fixed, but the ramen was to die for. If you can find this pop up, go! Man it was soooooo good. And hella trendy too. Very impressed. It was a 3 course meal, for 25$. I think they advertise on Facebook?

If you love a good ol fashion steakhouse Richard's is the place to go…read more My family has been going for over 50 years. Don't let its location scare you! And use the back door. I don't know if I've ever used the front door. Sinatra style music, intimate booths and tables, dark wood, beautiful bar, waitresses and staff who are friendly and efficient. You can actually have an intimate conversation. We usually get the dinner for 2 for $89.99. Choice of salmon, New York steak or prime rib. Comes with a glass of house wine, shrimp cocktail (spicy sauce), soup or salad, choice of green beans (house specialty) or brown beans, potato (mashed, fries, or baked) or pilaf and your entree. The horseradish is served with zip not a watered down version you get sometimes ask for au jus it's so good. The bus boys refill your water glasses and remove plates quickly. The wonderful waitresses check in "All good? Do you want another glass of...?" The owner will come by and ask you how's your dinner and chit chat. Old fashion proprietor hospitality that we don't see enough any more. The original owner, Richard S did this as well and I love that his grandson carries on the tradition. Sit at the bar, either before or afterwards, hopefully Leeann will be bartending and have a well made drink, watch TV (not blaring) and just relax. Seriously, love this place and it's been where our family has celebrated many family special days or just a good meal after a long week for over 50 years.

2.5ish review incoming. I have mixed feelings about this…read moreplace. With so many other dynamite restraunts in town, I am not sure Richard's has much to brag about (comparatively) these days. I understand and respect their history, but that is not an excuse for them to continue to live in the past. It is bad enough their location has turned undesirable over the years, so they need to continue to improve aspects of the business to keep people coming in. There was a security guard at the entrance (FYI the entrance is in the back, so upon entering you are immediately greeted by the restrooms and the doors that show off the kitchen work space. Long story short, it makes for an awkward and uncomfortable start to your experience for a first timer). Anyways, the security guard was in the same place when we arrived (looking at his phone) and in the same place when we left (still looking at his phone). If someone messed with my car, which was out of sight slightly around the corner of the building close to Belmont, would he have noticed or cared? This question is sure to be up there with the ol timeless chicken or the egg quandry and the if a tree fell in a forest paradox) Positives: Their meats were good (we tried the prime rib, of course, and a bacon wrapped filet). No complaints there. I should mention I took my love and my momma for her bday. My mom enjoyed herself well enough. The service was good. The waitress humored my (sometimes annoying) mom (lmao) and the hostess was also nice, checking on us during the meal even. She brought my mom some ice cream at the end and led us in singing happy birthday, which was sweet. The main fault: the sides. They were so mundane it almost made the rest of the meal seem overpriced and lackluster. Sides should be something local or at least prepared. Instead it was some slop from a can or a warmer filled with hot liquid broth. It was like cafeteria food or the heated up veggies one might get during a hospital stay. Completely unacceptable quality if you want to maintain the allure of a fancy restraunt serving 40+ dollar cuts of meat. Rice was mediocre, mashed potatoes were decent but again probably a cost cutting side. So all in all, the food wasn't something to brag about. The interior has some nice paintings of bare chested ladies. As a champion for women, it seemed a little extreme that in my sight i could see 6 titties, but as a man, excluding my champion for women title, I thought it was great. However, being with my mom and my woman made this dichotomy even more perplexing. The strangest part of all of this was when I went in the men's restroom there wasn't another topless woman painting. Instead it was some old dude. Wth? That's when I relaized it was like the rest of the experience here - unique, a bit outdated, and all over the place. Still enjoyable, but also pretty sad and confusing.
