Made the mistake of…read morecalling them and had three chaotic attempts with contract receptionists who wouldn't say if they were in the CPA firm or a pooled resource. Was forwarded to voice mail to another person not listed with Ron Allen in their ad. Struggled with unprofessional and incognizant receptionist who wanted to act as an information filter to send Mr Allen a message. I finally checked their website which didn't list the other person they had finally allowed me to leave a message on voice mail for, so I'm now totally confused. But I made a 4th attempt and used the web contact portal to describe my needs for CPA services which were several and my timeliness for getting a yes/no response within a few days. It's the 3rd day and no call back, text, or email whether they are available, interested, or unable to engage for any reason. Having been a registered professional engineer I find this pretty abysmal since there was no "out of office" voice mail greeting. At best they need to work with their receptionist. At the worst they need to check their Voicemail and consider getting a clerk who can marshal their front end business interface who knows which CPA services and customers they want or will take and not leave people hanging. Long and short I spent time asking professional friends ing for CPA references and I believe I have a tax CPA who meets muster. I don't recommend anyone who runs their business in this way without the courtesy of response as I believe that we were a good match from Mr Allen's advertisement. I have friends who are CPAs and who work for CPAs and I know how busy and hard they work, so perhaps it is just growing pains here. Good luck in any case.

I was however handed off to a class B accountant who took a long time to prepare my returns. Despite having all of my documents ready in February my return was not completed until October 16th, the day after the very last day possible because of a special holiday. Now normally I don't mind extending, but her staff were so overloaded they could not deliver until last minute. The worst part was that my taxes were done improperly to the tune of a six figure underpayment. I spent the next year recovering from that mistake. Their lack of ability to complete my returns accurately and on time literally cost me five figured in penalties not to mention the time to recover from not paying what I needed to during the year. Despite multiple requests to do tax planning throughout the year, her staff were not able to make time for me which I believe also contributed to the last minute and incorrect filling. Perhaps I was not high on her client list, but this firm was beyond the worst experience I have ever had with an accountant. I was forced to choose a new provider because my previous accountant changed firms and I could not use them because of a non compete clause. So I had to try someone new. Needless to say, I chose poorly.

Red Flags Galore! I…read morewas looking for a new tax and accounting firm so I decided to look into these guys. Up on reviewing their business I found some red flags and decided not to give them any of my business. 1. Closed on Fridays and sharing offices. This business was closed on a Friday when I went to their office since I was in their building. If you don't have enough work to stay in open on Fridays, something is wrong. May be that's why the hours aren't listed online. Someone was in the office so they opened the door anyway. They told me that they didn't work for the firm and they were sharing the office. Now, someone who shares a tax preparers office is a major no-no. There is a lot of confidential and personal information around. When I reversed searched their address in Google I can find a lot of businesses at the same address mainly counselors are working out of this address. 2. Not accountants or CPAs. These business doesn't seem to employ any accountant or CPAs per their website. They have one person listed as enrolled agent. That's not good enough for my needs. 3. Not enough employees: There only 4 employees listed on their website if you don't count the receptionist or the dog. Same thing with LinkedIn. 4. Holier than thou attitude. My correspondence suggested that there was a fundamental attitude issue with them despite the fact that anyone looking for an established and reputable business would pass on them.

Regarding the other reviewers that say he is pompous or has attitude, he is a CPA!! His job is to get you the facts and crunch the numbers, and do so as efficiently and accurately as possible. Yes he can be short and to the point at times, but the man gets the job done and does it well! Like others have said, you can tell instantly that he knows what he is talking about. He wants to make sure the job gets done right and that the client knows exactly what they are getting. I would really not want my CPA to be any different than Kamran. He is courteous, to the point, factual and extremely knowledgeable. Yes, his emails or calls may be short and to the point at times, but you're hiring a CPA, not a therapist. He has happily spent 15+ minutes on the phone with me answering silly questions and explaining things. I would actually say he is quite patient and helpful, moreso than other CPAs I have worked with. Bottom line, if you need an accurate and knowledgable CPA to get things done quickly and always have the best interest of you and your business in mind, hire Kamran and never look back. If you need a fluffy, happy go lucky cheerleader to wait on you hand and foot every moment of the day, you may need to find someone else.

It all started with me responding to a Craigslist ad...yes, yes, I know what you are thinking, "Chris, seriously?", but I did. The guy seemed to have Big 6 Accounting experience and when I interviewed him he was spot on. I thought I may have found my guy. Boy I couldn't have been more wrong. We went back and forth discussing services and pricing options and after I sent him a list of what I expected to receive, we settled on monthly fees. I was excited and the work began. At first things seemed to be moving along slowly, but I did get my tax returns and filed them. But then I inquired about 2015 reconciliations and the fact that we were already in the middle of 2016 and no bookkeeping had been done up to this point (he started in March 2016). This is when the fun began. He told me he had to slow down his pace so that monthly payments would catch up to the amount of work that has been done. I then checked his fees up to that point against mine and saw that they were not right and basically he was dragging me out. After countless back and forth emails, I finally told him I wanted out. He agreed to upload half of 2015 to my Quickbooks which the $4,600 I had already paid him would cover, and I accepted. He alerted me to let me know the update was done and we then parted ways. However, I started noticing invoices I knew had been marked paid showing up unpaid in the system. After further review, I saw invoices going back five years showing up as unpaid! SABOTAGE! When I sent him an email alarmed and thinking it was a mistake and that he would fix it, he ignored my emails . . . all of them! Well, lesson learned. I was the bozo on this bus. Still marking invoices as paid. Maybe even as you read this. Stay away from this guy, the light is on but there is nobody home.
