I recently used Prominade Printing in Dallas, TX to print all of the collateral surrounding my wedding, They printed my save-the-dates, invitations, programs, custom wine labels, and stickers I used at the reception. From the minute I called Terry McDowell (one of the owners) to ask if she could help me, to when I sent them my design files, to the time I received the actual pieces, I felt at ease. I'm a art director by trade, so of course I was going to be picky with the outcome since I spent so much of my own time making the design perfect. I was very pleased that I was able to pick out my own high quality paper from their stock, use their top of the line printer, and have the final copies delivered to my office. I had lots of questions because I have zero experience in invitation design, and they gave me great advice in every area from paper weight and color, to card sizes, envelopes, and the file types they needed. Promenade Printing gave me everything I could possibly need out of a local printer. My fiancee and I recently used them for both our wedding invitations and our wedding shower invitations and couldn't be happier. From a technical standpoint, all the prints came out sharp and consistent with well-cut edges. They hit every deadline promised and kept pricing inline with other shops. That's to be expected of a professional printer, but still worth noting. But you can get a well-made print anywhere. What you won't get is the personal attention, education, and communication that Terry and her staff provide. I had made the artwork for our invitations and wanted them to look special once printed. We went to two different local printers first (we're in Plano) who showed us some basic flat and linen papers and said "this is the best paper we could do for this. Nothing else will work." We weren't satisfied, as I was really hoping for the artwork to be on a canvas or similar paper that had more depth. When we went to see Terry, instead of saying "can't do it", she instead directed us to the Clampitt paper sample room off Regal Row where we could grab all the papers we liked so she could just do test prints and see what happened. That flexibility and willingness to try proved to be huge as we found a perfect canvas paper that ran through her print machines just fine. Even she was surprised they came out so well, but at least she TRIED! Because of that, we were able to send out exactly the print we wanted. Came to Promenade based on reviews of other Yelpers, though still somewhat taking a shot in the dark because my printing needs were of the non-wedding variety. I needed 100 copies of a small bi-fold 5.5 x 8.5" inch zine/booklet that featured color photographs of decor found in bathrooms. As I corresponded with Terry over email, I wondered if she thought I was a complete lunatic for essentially sending her a booklet of toilets and flowers. In any event, I sent her all my spreads as PDFs and she was able to quickly collate them for book format and said she'd have a proof ready on Monday when I wanted to visit. I drove an hour from Fort Worth and on arrival Terry was polite, professional and addressed any concerns I had about the printing quality and process; she showed me a black and white proof of my zine and we made adjustments from there. As I would be out of town for two weeks, I told her it wouldn't be necessary to have them until I returned, but she said she could have them ready the day before I left. After checking out their website and contacting them, I saw that the prices were very reasonable and the customer service I received was great. They always responded promptly to e-mails and were very accommodating to all of my questions and ideas. I was able to help design my Save the Dates and they were able to send proofs back and forth via e-mail, and they turned out better than I had imagined. We also ordered our invitations online from them and the system was very easy to follow - it takes you through step by step each part of the invitation, colors, font, special wording, return address & names, etc., and I was very thankful for this as I was planning a wedding in Houston and this company is located in Dallas. My dad ended up using them as well to do the wedding programs and menus (he wanted it to be a surprise because I wasn't going to do them thinking we didn't have it in the budget), and they were able to match the style of our Save the Dates and Invitations, as well as the colors used and font.
