On a road trip, and stopped off in the small town of West Plains, MO. There aren't a lot of places to eat around, and the reviews on Yelp for the few places they have weren't the greatest. We chose this spot based on reviews and were pleasantly surprised. As the reviews said, this spot does have excellent food and odd service. The server was attentive, and we were seated immediately, but she had no personality or enthusiasm and made no suggestions. It's a small town, so not really an issue for us. The place was clean, and the food came out fast and piped hot. We had hot tea, steamed dumplings (just ok), pad thai (excellent), nom sod salad with pork (good), and coconut soup (excellent If you're in the area and like Thai food, definitely stop in!

Great little hole in the wall restaurant that my wife and I found on our way from FL to KS. Food was delicious, restaurant was spacious and not too overcrowded although decorations were sparse and kind of looked like they just opened. The place felt and looked clean and tidy. The wait staff could have been a bit more friendly and hospitable, but that's fine because we were there for the food really and it didn't disappoint. We had the steamed dumplings, Pad Thai, coconut curry soup with chicken and the LARB salad. All of it tasted good, fresh and it came out of the kitchen fairly quick!

Excellent food! Extensive menu and exceptional flavor. Very friendly staff and great service from Maddy P too. The Thai tea is very good, luscious and sweet. I had the Sapz Fire Beef, it was delicious! I highly recommend it. For those who enjoy very spicy food they can easily accommodate any palate too. The dining area is very clean and minimalistic with only a few tasteful decor items allowing focus on the excellent cuisine. Please try them out, you won't be sorry!

I ate at a Thai restaurant in Springfield that cost me $100 dollars for four people and this fantastic establishment puts that place to shame. The service, the cleanliness, the atmosphere is on par with any restaurant you would find in a big city. Fortunately for us, Sap Thai still somehow carries with it that small town hospitality! If you are passing through or live in West Plains, this place is a must.

Great food Amazing service Will definitely be going back again soon So much better than the local restaurants

Crispy eggplant, tofu with chili sauce and fresh rolls! Yummm

My son wanted sushi for his birthday so after trying (and only being moderately impressed) with another sushi restaurant in town he decided to take a chance on Chin Chin. Being his birthday, we decided to get a variety of rolls for all of us to share and then individual meals for each of us. The sushi was 5 star level for Jonesboro...probably 4 stars if you were in a Little Rock or Memphis or other major city. The flavor of the fish was pleasant and the only knock I have is that they use a bit too much sauce on the rolls. Still, we devoured them very quickly once we received them. My General Tso chicken was some of the best I've had in a while. It was actually HOT (spicy) instead of just tangy. The temperature of the food was nice and hot as well, which I like. (I don't mind having to wait a few minutes for the food to cool so I know it's cooked all the way through.) My son ordered the chicken Udon soup noodles and wasn't entirely happy with it. Said the flavor was rather bland. He barely ate a quarter of it. (Felt horrible that it happened on his birthday. :( ) Bottom line: Chin Chin is in the upper level of sushi and Chinese food restaurants for the Jonesboro area.

Good food adequate service. Try them. Good variety too. Go for it! I like them. It's good.read more

I went in for lunch, and ordered an…read moreappetizer of spring rolls (3 for $4.29), a Spicy Salmon roll of sushi ($6.25) and the Hibachi Chicken ($11.99) which comes with either a soup or a salad. I chose the salad over the onion soup offered. The salad was uninspiring - it was 99.9% iceberg lettuce, but good and cold and crisp with a nice ginger dressing in a cup. All the food was good and fresh and hot. The chicken had a good flavor in a tasty sauce. The vegetables were also excellent. The rice was a good quantity in its separate compartment. The Chicken Hibachi was served in a plastic container with everything separate (I had told them I'd be boxing it up). The sushi was also good - the raw Spicy Salmon roll was on a par with any sushi I've had in Jonesboro. I'm not a sushi expert but I know when it's good! Overall I think you get good food, but the prices are a bit high. You can go to other oriental food places in Jonesboro and get a buffet all-you-can-eat, or takeout by the pound, and pay considerably less. Nevertheless I will be back to Umai, not only because it's close and convenient but because I'd like to try other menu items. Lastly - and this is not the restaurant's fault - the taxes are killing me on food! My food cost came to $22.53 but the total bill with taxes was $25.77. That's $3.24 or 14.38% in taxes! I sure hope we in Jonesboro are going to get our money's worth for this outrageous amount of taxes on food - but it's probably a forlorn hope.
