AVOID unless you like paying more! Charged 3 times the amount out of pocket than the insurance negotiated rate as an in-network. Noticed it on the explanation of benefits (EOB), but figured she'll send a refund. A year later, nothing, so I stopped by to ask about my account - receptionist said there's no credit and the Dr Amini is busy, so she'll call back. Didn't get a call, so I emailed. No response for a week until I emailed again and said I'll post this everywhere - got a voicemail 10 mins later saying I have a credit for half of what I calculated (I'm a CPA but she doesn't have to be to do simple math). Phone tags and emails later, confirmed correct amount. Asked for a history of my account as I did a crown and now suspect I was overcharged for that too - no response to that which I asked at least twice. Stopped by the office to get refund, says she can only send back to the same card, but this is a charge from a year ago and it could not go through, wasted my time again! Was then busy with a patient and Dr Amini was supposed to call back - no surprise, but no call! Still haven't received my refund. I'm a CPA and it's tax season, I'm not trying to double as a collection agency! It's clear she doesn't reconcile her charges and accounts - shady books and practice! read more

This dental office tries hard to scam your money. My first visit was in February of this year for a routine clean that ended up to be charged $252 with less than 20 mins of actual dental work at this office. They also submit paperwork to my dental insurance for additional payments for the services that they claimed that they have performed in a short 20 mins visit! Since, my insurance company and I have called/emailed numerous times asking for a correction. Pretty sure everyone already knows how I feel about driving into Maryland, but I was assigned to come here by the Reserve so off I went to my dental exam. The changing of the leaves made the drive pass pleasantly and before I knew it I was in the Giant shopping center looking for Dr. Amini's office. If you're facing the Giant, head to the right and the entrance is across from Subway. She is in suite 208. Dr. Amini's office is quiet, clean and orderly; everything looks brand new. There was absolutely no wait and her assistant got my paperwork straight before I was escorted off to do X-rays. After that the doctor saw me and conducted the exam. She was gentle and was nice, and most importantly, was able to answer all of my questions very thoroughly. Props to me for getting a "1" on the dental exam. Think of that as an A+. Flossing pays off! If an apple a day keeps the doctor away, flossing per day keeps the dentist away. read more

I've been Dr Amini's patient for few months now and she did various kind of treatments for me. She makes the environment comfortable for you and she discusses with you what your problem is and won't proceed for the treatment before she communicates the issue with you. This is a big plus for me because I don't like to be under treatment for something I don't know what it is and what the procedures are. I also like the fact that how she professionally handles complicated issues and doesn't rush to treatment; she seems to want everything been done perfectly, so even if you don't care about what kind of treatment you would get, she wants it to be prefect, so there is no worries, you would get the best service and treatment. In my most recent treatment, I had to have a temporary crown on my front teeth which made me quite nervous since I thought it might fall off and makes my life miserable until I can go back again to glue it. But I had the temp crown for more than two weeks and it stayed there nicely and didn't put me in any trouble. She also gave me a small package of glue for emergency reattaching if in case it comes off!! The permanent crown was also pretty good. The color and the form was identical to my own teeth and it was almost impossible to tell which one is the crown!! Almost any time you call during business hours, you would get respond. If not, the nice helpful receptionist would call you shortly. For me, everything has gone smoothly and the insurance and payment part was also straight forward and I already recommended her to some of my friends. read more

Visiting on vacation felt something pop out while flossing. Dr. Amini did an assessment on the filling, expeditiously cleaned and replaced it during a busy noon time schedule. She warned me that a crown will likely be necessary due to the bite. Will update later but so far very happy with the work that will allow me to enjoy the rest of this trip. Follow up - able to finish my vacation with the solid filling repair. Made it to my regular cleaning a few weeks later without any further incident. As Dr. Amini correctly assessed there will need to be a crown installed. Review stands as good job on short notice. read more

Best Dentist in the Potomac area hands down! She spends the time to throughly explain my treatment plan to me, and is not at all pushy. I feel at ease while being under her care. The best part about her is that she tells you the truth, I got the second opinion of my cousin who is a dentist in California and he agreed with the treatment proposed by Dr. Amini, and was impressed by the crown she had placed for me. Dr. Amini is very straight forward which is extremely reassuring. She gives you her honest professional opinion. Not to mention, she genuinely cares about you, she remembers concerns I've mentioned to her months ago, which is not the case with other dentists I've been to. Her staff are very caring as well. Last but not least, Dr. Amini gives the best shots and actually waits until I feel numb, which is good because I'm a very nervous patient. I would highly recommend her!!! read more

Had a very bad experience trying to get a crown. Please be aware that while the cost of treatment is substantially cheaper than most dental practices, the level of care is accordingly lower. I opted to go to this practice since it was recommend to me by a friend and the price quoted was $700.00 less than what my regular dentist was going to charge me. The substantial difference should have raised a red flag! Unfortunately in place of seeking a third opinion, I opted to "save money"which have costed me thousands of dollars in repairing the damage. If you have a basic uncomplicated procedure this place might be good enough but should any complication arise the place is not well equipped in my opinion to handle such matters. I appreciated the fact that Dr Amini was professional enough in sending me to an endodontist and at that stage was not trying to repair what she could not. However, I strongly feel that the damage could have been prevented or minimized if the practice had higher standards of dental assistance and greater strive for precision. It certainly was not reassuring to hear the dentist calling for her assistance several times while working on my problem and not getting a response. Since I am not a dentist I can not say with any certainty that the damage was caused by the dentist. I have though had a crown done before and have never gone through any such pain and complication as I have after my unfortunate treatment at this practice. I also recall the care and meticulous measurements and adjustments that took place in my previous crown treatment. Certainly this practice appeared crude and hasten in taking measurement and fitting the temporary crown. The assistance literally shoved the temporary crown into my mouth and told me I could leave. Though Dr Amini called me back and made a quick adjustment, certainly it was not nearly the quality of my former dentist. The poor quality of the temporary crown was also confirmed by the endodontist I needed to see. By the way the final bill was higher than the original quote. When I went back after experiencing pain, I was sent a bill for "evaluating my problem" and for " bitewings films" as she was trying to adjust the bite for the poorly constructed temporary crown. Of lesser importance but for future red flag, the building is run down and reeks of restaurant food smell. The office is "clean" but compared with other dental practices seems bare in terms of equipments and overall professional appearance. It has been over a month, I am still having lingering pain and am needing to get a whole new crown. Certainly I can not recommend the place. read more

Updates: PLEASE NEVER GO TO THIS DENTIST! I am beyond horrified with her services. I had gone back to her regarding pain associated with the crown she had charged me for. She dismissed my concerns and sent me home with an exorbitant bill associated with the test she ran. While on an overseas trip the same crown came off and I had to get an emergency procedure costing me thousands of dollars. Now that I called her several times to transfer my records, she is asking for 39$ to transfer my documents of the tests that I paid for??? How luis that correct? And she is still sending me bills of the services that were never rendered?? I have left messages but the doctor is too busy to respond. She owes me money for the defective crown and she is asking me for money?? So horrified!! I hope I could give less than 1 star. Except her dental assistant, every one sucks. Her administrator over charged me by 200 dollars and when I caught it, her admin refuses to talk straight. She tries to avoid my call and asks me to come in and get myself checked and she is still working on my refund. I have never been to a more unprofessional practice in my life. read more

This is not a good practice. I took my 14 year old son and she did everything what was covered under the insurance. I did not realize and let her do it. First she said he has cavities. So I just trusted her. But she did a bad job..his teeth still hurting. They had a treatment suggestion for root canal before she finished working on cavities. When I asked her than she says that she is just finding out then how did they have it already printed before the treatment. On top of it she had a big argument in front of my young son. I tried to avoid it and asked her to discuss in private but she could not control herself. Now I am scared because his teeth still hurting after 3 weeks. She did 7 cavities on both sides and I think she did not do a good job. My son will have this bad memory of this dentist for years and I am not sure what to do.... Thinking of taking him to other dentist and do x Ray and find the damage she did. But i just want people to be aware of this. This is my first ever review of anything. I don't like to always complain and put out bad words for small things. But this is something to be reported. I may file a complain against her. She may have done some permanent damage to his teeth and fough with me in front of him. That is not acceptable. Doctors don't behave like this. read more

She did two fillings for two people in my family, both people developed cyst on the bone, done on the same day. Both needed surgery to remove it, both lost tooth (root canal after cyst was removed). Her license should be revoked! And insurance companies should not allow her to practice! read more
