Our sons are 2 and 1, so we knew it was an ambitious goal - but we really wanted to capture this moment in time we know will go by so fast. Leading up to the photo session, Steve provided tips for outfits and preparing for the photoshoot, which helped me feel confident leading up to it. When we arrived, Steve was already there to meet us glowing with positive energy, which immediately snapped all of us out of the stressful morning of getting ready. Steve was not only a master behind the camera but also a real professional, as he seamlessly wears all the hats! He is brilliant with kids, quick on the shots, and goes with the flow while incorporating our ideas into the shoot, resulting in gorgeous photography of candid moments and genuine smiles with exceptional lighting and quality. While I was doing my makeup in the morning before the photoshoot, all I could think about was how to maintain the kids' runny noses during the shoot (do toddler's noses ever stop running?). When we received our photos, you would never know. Steve was able to edit this out so we can look back on wonderful memories of this time of love and laughter without runny noses tainting the moments. I am looking forward to hanging several prints on our wall and sending out favorite photos in our annual Christmas cards to friends and family. Due to the circumstances of photographing our family with little ones, I was really hoping to get at least a few favorites. We had determined a shoot location and Steve arrived there early to check the conditions. He immediately contacted us stating that with the cloud cover, lighting, and fog off of the water that the conditions were less than ideal. Steve then gave us the option to proceed with that spot or choose anywhere else that we would like. Hes very flexible and accomodating. Steve was so personable, lively, energetic, and creative. He was great with our two kids. He also had a great way of moving the session along without 'hurrying.' We felt that he earnestly took into account our ideas and he made an effort to incorporate them into the shoot. We also appreciated his creativity, vision, and technical aptitude. He would explain his reasoning behind the different poses, locations, and arrangements--eg, the lighting, the background, etc. Steve would redo a shot if he didnt feel great about it and he regularly shared some of the images as the session progressed. Also, we took a ton of shots with a myriad of different poses--he went above and beyond. Above all--he just seemed like nice down-home kinda guy--youd have a beer with him.
