I had been a client for four years and stuck with them mostly because there seemed to be limited options for salons tailoring to curly hair. I had wanted to try coloring my hair recently and booked with the salon owner who I thought would be more hands on in getting me the results I wanted. It took two visits to get the color I wanted and the attitude of the salon was not very empathetic or understanding. I also echo what others say about the hair cut only visit being pricey but you leave with frizzy, unruly hair. I'm used to situations where I felt my most confident after leaving a haircut and instead at Southern Curl, I would have to make the choice of spending over $200 to leave feeling put together vs doing the cut alone and just go straight home to wash and style my hair myself. I feel less alone reading other reviews that others got the same feeling of being a burden or nuisance. It is also pretty apparent that when you have a negative experience or feedback, the salon is quick to say goodbye and say you're not a good fit for them, again placing the blame on the client and not taking any ownership of what they could do better. As a business in the service industry, I would expect better customer service and sincerity.
