My friend and I are huge Friends (Tv show) fans and traveled to Atlanta from Greensboro, NC to attend The Friends Experience pop up shop in Atlanta. We knew this event would be full of photo opportunities that would serve as profile picks and framed photos for years to come, so we wanted to look our best. The location is super cute with multiple stations and stylist on hand to serve customers. Was a little surprised they didn't book my friend and I with two stylist stationed near each other (as we made appointment together) so we could visit during our appointment), but not a huge deal. Kind of made the reveal after a surprise. This was my first ever blow out and I was so pleased with the result. I'm bummed I can't remember my stylist name, as she did a fantastic job and deserves a shout out. I don't do things with my hair often, so she was great in helping me decide what I'd like and what was possible with my shorter hair. Experience started with good shampoo treatment and then time to blow dry and curl. My stylist was very thorough, even curling my odd shorter hair section I was starting to grow out from a previous undercut. The experience was very relaxing. It just always feels good with someone else messes with your hair. Hard to take photos during the process, but again as someone who is mostly an "air dry and go" person, it was fun having all these different products in my hair. My hair is so straight naturally, so I loved seeing it with so many beautiful curls at the end result. Whatever products she used was on point as my hair stayed curly all night and into the next day. Loved how my hair looked in all my photos throughout the day and got many compliments from friends and family when they saw it in photos. I feel I definitely got my bang for my buck. Sadly my friend had a very different experience. She struggled to communicate her vision to her stylist. Her hair also fell very quickly after the appointment as it seemed her stylist didn't have her tools on and already nice and hot before she began to style. I am not going to alter my review as this was not my direct experience, but I was very bummed for her that she didn't have the same positive experience I did. I also think the front desk staff was new or something as they tried to charge my friend for both of our blow outs, even though I already just paid for mine as I finished first. Also, didn't really know the products and where to find back stock when we inquired about an item that was sold out on the shelf. Just things to potentially think about and improve for the future. I booked this appointment in advance as I am getting maternity photos done this afternoon and I received 3 different confusing emails back to back less than 30 MINUTES BEFORE MY 10:00 appt going back and forth if they had someone available to do my appointment. I really wanted to love Blo after having a meh experience at Salon Doremi, but it was an okay experience. I gave them 3 stars because of the following: 1. Location: next to Lennox in an big shopping center so we didn't have an issue with parking. 2. Service: while the staff member was really nice, I don't think she knew how to do a proper blow out. 3. Price: I ordered the blow up, head massage, and deep conditioner which priced at $74. I thought the price was reasonable given all the items included. However given that my staff didn't really know how to do a proper blow out, I was a bit disappointed. 4. My head massage was decent, longer than the one we friend had. I couldn't tell the difference before and after the deep conditioner. Maybe it's just me, but I felt like my lady didn't know how to curl. She did 2 half curl when you're supposed to curl the whole strand all the way down to prevent breakage. I asked her long she have been working here and she said 3 months but only on the weekends. (Oh okay ‍). My friend said that her stylist rushed her head massage and washed and maybe because she was a bit late (‍) but she felt rushed and wasn't able to enjoy the minimum head massage given. I highly recommend this place for a blow out but I forewarn you, go elsewhere for your make up services. The girl who did my hair was wonderful! I have quite thick hair so I felt bad for her when she was blow drying my hair but she did a really good job! My blow out lasted 3-4 days without it looking greasy. On another hand, my make up was a solid C+. I feel like I'm being generous with 4 stars when really it should be 3. One of my biggest issues was the make up artist didn't prep my face at all - no moisturizer, primer, nothing. She said she didn't want to use the primer since it wasn't going to work for my skin. When I called to make an appointment, I made sure to ask if I need to prep my face and they said no thinking all the prep will be done at the salon. She did my eye brows too thin for my liking, and when she started my eye shadow, they were uneven. I'm not a pro at putting make up on but I feel like I could have done a better job. I hate writing bad reviews but I also hate feeling like I wasted money on something as well. When I called to make an appointment I asked for a blowout that would help with my dry ends and I let them know my hair was blonde. They offered a blowout with blondafix. When I got to the salon I asked the stylist if this treatment will help with the dry ends and she basically said no and I asked if she do the combination treatment to bring moisture to my hair and she said she will use a moisturizing conditioner and continued with the blowout I booked. I showed the stylist the style I was looking for which was was big hollywood hair where the front had a lot of volume and since she had someone waiting after me she didn't do that all and gave me basic curls that I can do at home and a better job at that. My hair felt so hard and crunchy, with no volume, and the pieces in the front are sticking up. My hair felt drier and looked more damaged to how it was before my blowout. Sigh. This was my first time getting a blowout and its absolutely terrible. 0/5 I don't recommend . :( read more

I really hate writing bad reviews and this one is a little delayed but it's moreso management that's pissed me off more than anything..and it's also my experience that I want to share: After my appt I received a survey where I explained the following about why my experience there was terrible: I shared my desired look with my technician who waited until the very end of my appointment to inform me that she couldn't do what I wanted (old Hollywood style waves with volume) bc "she didn't have enough time"... she ended up just giving me very basic curls that I could do myself. As for the volume.. where I expected her to tease, all she told me to do was throw my head down and shake and flip it back to my volume.... She was very nice but I didn't make an appointment to pay for something I can do myself .. also, pretty positive she didn't put any conditioner or product in my hair outside of an entire can of hair spray. My hair was so dry and stiff and was unmanageable throughout my entire event. This was honestly a waste of time, and money and I'll never recommend this place. Management reached out and offered me a free blow out-- I expressed my gratitude but stated that coming back simply was not on my to-do list .. I don't have the need or desire to get my hair done again..so I offered another solution that made more sense to me but then I was ghosted. Not a peep even after following up. I could've initially chalked up the experience to a "bad day" and "maybe someone else would have better luck" but after seeing the lack of professionalism from management, I certainly will never advise anyone go there. read more

I had the opportunity 2 experience this place at the Yelp: Ladies Night Out event. This visit was right on time. I had been looking 4 an hour 2 do my hair but w/kids, a full-time job & a husband who has free time. I was able 2 get my hair washed, conditioned, blow dried & straightened n about 45 minutes. My stylist was Tiaré(T-air) & she was AWESOME. Her skills were superb & she had personality. Although we talked almost the whole time she stayed focused on the task at hand. Love! They just opened yesterday (12/9). I spotted the shop on my way to Hot Yoga Sculpt at CorePowerYoga Around Lenox. After sweating it out with 40 other people, I showered and decided - hey, someone else can do a better blow out than I can! I strolled right over and left about 20 min later with a sleek and bouncy blowout. Seriously great job. Rain was my stylist and this woman is a perfectionist. She chatted when I did but otherwise focused on polishing my tresses. Their hair products are good too. Next time - and there will be - I may check out their products - surely better value than Davines, Pureology etc. Highly recommend checking it out or making an appointment before they are slammed. Even more disappointing than the actual blow out was the quality of the follow up. I scheduled a blow out on the day of our family photo shoot, was promised waves that the stylist just did not bother to do. When I called back to complain, the manager Maria basically accused me of lying, stating that there was camera evidence showing that he had turned on the curling iron and the owner said I had declined the waves. The insinuation that I would lie over something as trivial as a blowout is UNBELIEVABLY INSULTING. Thanks a lot, Blo. In response to owners feedback, that conversation simply did NOT happen. There was never a discussion about turning on a curling iron. At the end, he sensed I was upset but said oh let me fix it in an incredibly patronizing manner. Cons: my hair did look a little too "I'm going to prom" on the first day, and the curls were a little too ringlet for my taste. I was referred to this business by the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Buck Head, Atlanta for a wash and blow dry. It's a small salon located near the Mall that is staffed by extremely unprofessional staff members in their early twenties. When I arrived the salon was empty with one hair stylist finishing a single client in the salon. I was offered water and asked to take a seat to wait for the stylist who was finishing her client. I waited patiently while my 12:30 appointment time passed by. I was completely ignored by the stylist who was a few feet in front of where I was seated. She never once looked at me or acknowledged my presence; and was not concerned that I was waiting for her and she was late with my appointment. At 12:40 (ten minutes passed my appointment) it was clear to me (by the painstakingly slow pace she was moving at) that it was going to take her another twenty minutes to finish the person in the chair. At that point, I engaged her and asked her if she wanted me to reschedule my appointment. She never acknowledged that she was late and was keeping me waiting and was completely indifferent bordering on rude with her interaction with me. I should have walked out, but I was visiting from out of the country and did not have time to find a different place. The service was equally disappointing. My hair stylist was only 22 years old with very little experience. She was not even competent to give a simple hair wash and blow dry. Yet, I was charged the same fee as I would have been in London or New York City by top stylists with many years of experience. Furthermore, the product she used on my hair has an overwhelmingly strong sweet smell that is extremely offensive and won't dissipate. I highly advise not patronizing this business and finding a different hair salon to use. I had an appointment, I was late, I let them know I was going to be late and they said everything was good..needless to say everything wasn't good..somebody took over my appointment and they did nothing to help me reschedule etc, just made me someone else's problem on my birthday!!! Im so sad to give this place a bad review but it's days later and I'm still upset by my experience.. I was made to wait 15 mins when I came in whcih was fine because I could see the stylist working on another client... But then after she was done, I watched her walk outside and come back another ten minutes later with a container of takeout food. Then finally another stylist came over to get me started and washed my hair and began blow drying. I told them I was in a rush and that it didn't need to be perfect, I just wanted loose beachy waves. The stylist finally finished her food I guess and then comes and starts blow drying my hair straight, even though I asked for beachy waves. My hair is naturally straight, why would I pay for a straight blowout? I think her goal was to see if she could just blow it out straight and that I would tell her to stop for the sake of time since she clearly wanted to go home. But it's not what I came for. So she starts reluctantly curling my hair with a wand, even though that gives you super defined curly curls and I wanted volume and waves. It looked terrible, I don't know if she was doing a bad job on purpose because she wanted me to leave, or if she didn't know what she was doing. I ended up leaving in tears because the time was ticking by and the hair kept looking worse every time she touched it. I was told I'd get a call from management the following day and I didn't. Booked two blowouts for me and a friend during a girls weekend- my stylist barely spoke to me, other than to complain that she had been up since 6am, and seemed to rush through the blowout and style just to get it done. I asked for beachy waves, and barely got curls (that fell within 2-3 hours). My friend had a better experience with a stylist who was more personable and her curls held for much longer. The hostess at the door offered me tea and it was strawberry kiwi it was so cute and pretty there and the products were all vegan; which I loved !
