I came here to get my hair and makeup done after flying in for a wedding, and I didn't want to check a bag to bring hair tools and makeup. The online booking process was very easy. The salon is located in a big shopping center but there is plenty of parking and it's very easy to find. My only critiques would be that the salon could have been a little cleaner inside and it was very busy on a Friday afternoon so I had to wait about a 20 mins delay for my hair apt to start. Abby did my makeup and I cannot recommend her enough! She made my skin look flawless and set it perfectly so that 10 hours later the makeup still looked great and the lashes were still glued exactly in place. I have always trusted this chain, and I am especially grateful when it's in a city outside of my home-city. This one was close to our hotel and the location of my high school reunion. I will spare you the details of which reunion this was. I was assigned a wonderful stylist named Joshua. He was gentle, efficient, thorough, and very professional. My hair looked great, held a gentle curl, and he engaged in pleasant conversation while allowing me to relax and enjoy the experience. I came in for a blow out the morning of my wedding rehearsal and am so glad I did. I made an appointment online for 8:15am which was an easy process (note: Google maps will say they open at 9am, but they have appointment availability much earlier than that). When I arrived, there were already a lot of people there. I had a brief moment of concern (probably mostly wedding nerves), because my stylist still had a bit to finish up on the client before me. I got started probably about 10-15 minutes late, but my stylist was very apologetic and assured me she'd get me out on time. She gave me probably the fastest blow out I've ever gotten without sacrificing quality. I was out within about 30 minutes, and my hair looked great all day! It did seem as if there were a few scheduling snafus happening for others who were coming in and out (someone having an appt, but showing up and it not being in the system, or not being booked for enough time, etc), but personally I was not affected and also think it could be partially user errors. Be careful to select the right services, and also double check your confirmation emails and texts before arriving. I found the stylists to be very efficient and friendly - it's always a treat to have someone else do your hair. read more

I came here to get my hair done before a friend's wedding, and by the time I got back to my apartment from the salon, my hair had already seriously deflated. I told the stylist that my hair doesn't hold a curl super well, and despite this, she kept brushing through the curls, making them fall out even earlier than they would have if she'd left them like I asked. I had to re-do my hair before I went to the wedding. Additionally, I requested one side of my hair get just 2 bobby pins, and it wasn't until after these were placed that I was told by a different stylist that this would have to be extra since it wasn't just a blow out anymore and would need to count as a braid. The other stylist then said that my stylist was new, which is why she didn't know that this would be extra. I understand being new at a job, but if that's the case, especially after the hair is already done, the customer should not be charged for that mistake on the part of the newbie. Had no expectations, I would come back if I was in a bind again. I made this appointment very last minute. Alexis who made my appointment was very accommodating. I didn't like leaving my card on file but did so because I was in a bind. I arrived and you could see and smell the smoke from the blow dryers fogging the salon. I grew up in salons so that was new for me. Overall the place looked clean. 3 people were in the salon. A guy with a female client and Theri. Theri approached me to let me know she would clean off her station and be with me. My hair was not detangled so she started, but handed me the brush to detangle me own hair. I preferred it anyway because I detangle from the bottom up rather than top down. That's when I realized this place isn't a full service salon. That was also different for me. It's literally wash, blow dry and in my case use the straighter for strays. I understand why she didn't straighten my hair completely even though that was in the service plan for $45. The way she blew my hair dry had straightened it quite a bit. I still paid the $45 + 20%, but I didn't feel special or anything when I left. My hair was sleek so I won't take that away. The owner entered with extra laundry detergent that Theri said she couldn't find, but I found it just through the cracked door on the floor beside the washer on my way to the bathroom. The owner handed me a new comers baggie, I thought that was nice, but no one really asked about my experience. I would say ok! The card system had some initial error but Theri fixed it. I suppose I could call the experience mediocre. Theri was nice, very bubbly with the staff. read more

I needed a last minute blow out and I called this place. To secure an appointment you have to give them a credit card so I opted to gamble and just walk in when I got there. Normally I wouldn't mind giving a cc for an appointment but my schedule was so packed that day I was concerned I wouldn't be able to make it precisely at the appointment time. This salon is next to my favorite nail salon, Midtown Nails. Please check out my review of them. :) I didn't know they had a Groupon until writing this review so be sure to use it if you go. The salon is super cute, only had one customer and they could take me as a walk in. It took a while for them to start on me considering how empty it was but that was fine. The woman who did my blow out was very fun and sweet. We had great conversation and laughed a lot. I have to admit that the blowout was just ok. It wasn't bad per say, its just that when I get one I would like it to be better than I can do at home (I am not a hairdresser). I like a lot of volume and lift at the root which I stated before hand. Everyones interpretation of lift and volume is different though. The lift and soft curl fell pretty much immediately when I walked out which is unusual for me. I know this is The South but my hair will usually hold volume and curls for days. A good blow out can last me a week. I'm not going to say who did my blowout because there are many factors that could have caused it to be that way; just an off day, not super familiar with my hair type, not enough product used etc. I still gave a 25% tip. Pros: -Great location! -Very nice, fun staff! -Walk ins welcome! -You didn't have to do it yourself at home! Ladies we know that in itself would be a reason to go. :P Cons: -Based on seeing all of the other great reviews I think who you get is a big factor in your outcome. -Despite people saying how affordable it is, it's the same price as DryBar. Notes: -Be adamant about what you want. Out of Southern Politeness I'm not going to ask for the same thing more than 3 times. If I've said it 3 times and it's not happening, it's not for lack of communication. -If you're in a hurry, be sure to tell them. That's my review! If I could give this place zero stars I would. I called ahead before making my appointment and was told that they could see me. Booked my appointment, drove all the way there, waited for my stylist only to then be told that they wouldn't be able to see me because my hair would take longer than 45 mins (at this point they were already 15 mins late to start my appointment and clearly no where near ready). They weren't apologetic at all and then when I told them to cancel in classpass she first said she had no way of doing that and then said she did cancel however clearly she did not. I didn't really know how many stars to give because after all I never got my hair done. Ultimately I landed on 1 star for lack of consideration and inconvenience. I booked an appointment online and was excited to get my hair done at blo (a friend recommended it). When I arrived, the receptionist explained that because I had natural hair they couldn't take me at my appointment time because it would take too long. She said she was surprised I was even able to book online. (There was no place to indicate hair type so I didn't know this was a prerequisite to having a certain appointment time.) I won't go into why this is problematic or how long my hair has taken at similar salons in the past etc. but all in all I'm mostly annoyed that I drove 45 minutes only to be told I couldn't get my hair done. I went in at lunch before a holiday party Friday night. I booked online, you just need a card to hold the reservation but can use any card when you get there. I was offered a drink when I got there, water, tea, coffee or wine. It was cold and rainy so I had coffee to warm me up. My appt was 1245 but they were running behind so it was my like 1pm when I was introduced yo my stylist, Briana. She asked when my event was and planned accordingly. Since it was 5 hours away she put the curls in tighter than normal so they could fall throughout the day. The staff was very friendly and the space inviting (minus the tiny teeny bench in the "waiting area"). It did feel a little cramped in the chair as there was someone in the chair next to me and there wasn't a lot of room. But, I have super long hair, so no worries there. My stylist was very sweet. But I left the salon at 5. My hair was flat by 6. My hair generally holds curl pretty well. It was humid out so i kind of get it (although I was in my car and then my air conditioned home). But once I tipped it was far far too much money for an hour of okay looking curls. I get better when I braid and let it air dry. Between that and the really packed location I will be saving my $60 next time. read more

PSA TO ALL BLACK WOMEN WITH NATURAL HAIR!!! This was my third time at the salon. My hairdresser was Megan. While she was flat ironing my hair I asked her to put more heat on my hair(I know what's best for my hair). And she came up with some lame excuse as to why it's better to have on a low temp... the problem with that is i have natural thick and curly hair and it requires more heat to stay straight (especially when it's summer time in GEORGIA!) When it comes to repeating myself I'm not fond of it so I j let her go along hoping it would turn out half decent. It didn't... I wouldn't recommend this place for black women. I booked an appointment and came in promptly. My stylist sat me down and immediately said I shouldn't have booked a one hour appointment. In reality it was my first time there and I just booked a blow out. She said that I should've scheduled more time and she has other people to see after me so can I come tomorrow morning. She huffed and puffed with annoyance when her coworkers convinced her to just do my hair and they'll figure out the rest. She told me that my hair was too tangled and mentioned 5 times that I should've booked extra time... even while she was doing my hair. She even made me pull up the website. It was obvious that she had an attitude. I left a tip to cover some of the extra charges that she said I deserved but I will not be returning back. My hair looked great but it got to the point where when she offered to lay gel on my edges, I responded "sure, if it's not too much." I have never felt that uncomfortable to receive a paid service. My makeup was done so poorly I had to redo it after I left. There were big areas of unblended bronzer, no concealer was used, and my eyelashes which cost extra were falling off before I even left the salon. I had to go buy lash glue to reapply them. The eyeliner was done so sloppily I asked the artist to take it off and she tried to convince me to keep it on after I asked her to remove it multiple times. My friend was supposed to come in after me and get her makeup done, but I told her to cancel and did her makeup myself. The hair was okay but the makeup was really awful.
