Marci is a fabulous nutritionist! She was recommended to me by CEDC after I finished an intensive…read moreoutpatient program there. She explains things really well, so that a lay person like myself can understand them. She does a good job of combining biology (like how the body digests food, etc) with food counseling (like whether you should be on a meal plan or not). I found Marci to be really honest, smart, and easy to talk to. If you're looking for a nutritionist who can help you with emotional eating, Marci's your gal!

Marci is one of the best things that has ever happened to me.. for real! She is an amazing person…read morewho has been an inspiration to me and a very helpful nutritionist. I have felt very comfortable explaining everything in a truthful manner to her, and she is not judgmental, which is very helpful when dealing with difficult issues. She truly understands what I am going through, and she always has concrete advice to give to help me get back or stay on track. I find her to be very organized and on top of things. She has a lot of worksheets and book suggestions that have been quite helpful. Also, her ideas for nutritious and delicious foods are great. I have learned many helpful tips and rules from her that have helped me to adjust during a period of having eating disordered behaviors that had been ingrained in my life for many years, to evolving toward the opposite end of the spectrum where I have learned to honor my hunger and eat what I'd like in a reasonable manner and to not get too hung up if I have negative experiences. When you go to Marci, be prepared to work on yourself and your eating and health in ways you may not have delved into this part of your life, and know you'll come out feeling more healthful and free to enjoy life more to the fullest without having to focus on eating issues that may have taken over your life in the past. I went to her after going to the Cambridge Eating Disorder Center and she has been a very big part of my recovery. I am very proud of myself to have gotten my good health under control, and it worked with a combination of help from Marci as well as with my therapist and psychiatrist who have all helped me to make a complete turn around. With this, I thank people like Marci and I hope that others who are looking for a great nutritionist find Marci. She is probably the best nutritionist to work with in Harvard Square, Cambridge, and one of the best in the Boston area. Go to her website www.marciRD.com - it is a very nice looking and well put together website that accurately reflects how she works and what she does, and you can contact her from there. Good luck with your recovery or with supporting someone you know who is in recovery, and know you're in good hands if you end up working with Marci! (she does accept insurances also so you just pay a co-pay as you go).

If you are seeking an excellent, competent, and warm dietician--look no further…read more Diana knows her field--and I have explored many of Namaste Nutrition's offerings. Ranging from her excellence in facilitating groups on mindful eating, (she is one of the most skilled facilitators I have seen in any field) as a published author and educator, leader of yoga and cooking retreats, and she is a seasoned and gifted yoga teacher and more. She also brings humor and playfulness to the table. Her ability to create a safe and special space in her classes, whether yoga or nutrition is outstanding! One of her newer services that I'm very excited about is the Good Measures software. Diana uses this with you such that you can log your food and nutrition, and then she can log in if you want and give you feedback and coaching such that you meet your goals. In the past year and a half or so, I have lost 34 lbs. I credit this to my intense frequent workouts for sure, but definitely the mindful eating and nutrition education and skills that I learned from Diana were a key part of my success. I actually lost the weight AFTER I left weight watchers. (Nothing against WW, it's just that for me, this was a better fit). I have known Diana for many years, and I would refer anyone without hesitation. She also accepts many kinds of insurance--so check out her website and give her a call. You'll be in the hands of a gifted, skilled professional.

Admittedly in the first two classes I felt a little overwhelmed by all the data and handouts; however Diana explained that this was a natural way to feel as we try to absorb new insights, data about our body types, recipes etc. She advised us to go at our own pace and the material is there as a reference for us to always refer to. As the program progressed into the "cleanse" phase I began to see how the reading material complimented the process and was a helpful resource to refer to now and in the future. It was very helpful to share our thoughts week to week with other members of the small group; especially the insightful and funny emails we all sent back and forth outside of class time. I am not a "cooker bee" as I stated in class; however through my participation in this program, especially the cleanse days - I cooked my first beet dish, made kale chips, found an easy and delicious bean salad recipe online and became more confident and aware of how fruits and veggies make me feel - "lighter and cleaner"! Diana is very supportive and resourceful in meeting you where you are! She understands that change is gradual and we all have our histories which play into how we eat, move and express our stress. The changes I experienced were subtle but deep; I lost 6lbs. and now feel I have the tools and knowledge to continue on this journey of "healthy eating & positive healing". I am considering taking another program with Diana in the near future! In gratitude & health, Pat B.
