They thought of everything! There were even some snacks (cheese, meats, and focaccia) to start and the water and soft drinks were free. It was set for 5 couples but one didn't show. My husband didn't know anyone before hand but quickly chatted and talked em with everyone. The pace of everything was great. We made dessert first. Then we made the salad with from scratch burrata cheese, marry me chicken and homemade fresh pasta. It was truly the best experience. The dessert was a layered red velvet cup with mascarpone cheese. It was heaven! The class was hands on and the staff were all so friendly. The space was clean and welcoming. Two bathrooms were inside the kitchen area. The menu can change per class so be sure to book what you like best. They offer a variety of classes and is not just for couples if you do the classic cooking class. Worth the price, hands down. So glad we came here and got to experience this. We will be back for sure!

We got demos for everything that wasn't made by us but enjoyed the foods that our chef chose for us to make, such as the burrata! We had wine, cheese, meat, and focaccia when we got there and made our dessert, burrata, and pasta before assembling the whole meal. There was plenty of food to take home and we left stuffed! Our class happened at the start of a snow storm so only about 14-16 out of 20 people came which helped create a more intimate setting.

I was hunting for the perfect cooking class to treat my girlfriend for her bday. Frustration…read moreabounded as I went through one unhealthy cooking class after another. How come none of the major players in Boston want to teach us how to cook clean and healthy? Anyways.. Thank god I found Kate just as I was about to give up my search! Kate did not disappoint! She helped me decide the menu via email before the cooking class. I LOVED that we were able to figure it out together. Once we got to Kate's house, we were greeted by her and her adorable vegan doggie. We made our way to the kitchen and spent the next 2.5 hours discussing nutrition, learning how to make RIDICULOUSLY YUMMY tempeh bacon (with spinach and mushrooms) and dark chocolate chip & peanut butter cookies. We left with full tummies, lots of extra cookies, a large list of books to check out, and many new items to add to our weekly shopping list. I HIGHLY recommend Kate's cooking class to anyone - vegan or not. She will not disappoint and will likely open your eyes to a different way of thinking about your eating habits. Thanks, Kate!

It was a blast!…read moreKate showed us how to make sushi, which I have always wanted to learn how to make, but always thought was too difficult. We made sweet potato rolls with tempeh bacon that were delicious. We also learned how to make gluten free banana oatmeal cookies that were unbelievably tasty with all healthy ingredients are no added sugar. Kate was friendly, personable, and a great teacher. She also knows A LOT about nutrition. I found out that I'm actually getting way beyond the necessary amount of daily protein (46 grams). I would highly recommend cooking lessons with Kate for anyone who recently made the transition to a vegan lifestyle, wants to eat healthier, or is just looking for something fun to do. Two thumbs up!

Neither of us really knew what a personal chef service looked like. We love cooking but we didn't/don't have time during the week to cook. We hoped we'd get more vegetables into our diet at a minimum. That not eating out would mean less of the white devils (sugar, salt). I reached out to The Skinny Beet in a frenetic and desperate state last December. Since they've entered our lives the sun is shining, the clouds have parted and Mondays are happy (re: they are miracle workers). We have been a weekly client with The Skinny Beet for almost 3 months now. At the end of 1 month we reached out to them and shared a list of each positive benefit directly or indirectly related to hiring them as personal chefs. I would like to share this list with you (reader of my review): 1. My husband and I spend more time together. 2. We portion control better. 3. We work out more (have time to work out). 4. We feel better: less groggy, less irritable, more energy. 5. The food they make tastes flavorful, wholesome and satisfying. We get to eat our favorite cuisines with less of the sugar/salt and more grain/vegetable variety than what we know how to cook. 6. We waste less. 7. The brain space we wasted thinking about what to eat, what to cook, when to go pick things up, crap-I-forgot-an-ingredient --- Poof! Gone. Which, working full time while part time grad school, any and all brain space I can allocate to my work is priceless for me. From Week One: Flexibility with schedule and menu planning was made easy for us - We come home and our kitchen tools and pans lovingly (and somewhat expensively) acquired over time are clean - There are delicious dishes made with quality ingredients ready for devouring in the fridge. We are so grateful for the difference The Skinny Beet has made in our quality of life. Seriously, I wasn't kidding: Miracle Workers.

Well in just a couple hours we were able to cover SO much ground. From making a delicious salsa and homemade chips, to a steak and a chicken, even farro with caramelized onions. Not only did I learn tons of REALLY helpful skills that I've already been implementing, but I had delicious food that lasted me for a handful of meals THAT I HELPED MAKE! They brought all their own ingredients and left my kitchen completely spotless (possibly cleaner than how they found it) I am so thankful to these two and I look forward to our next lessons.
