The chicken itself seemed like it could have been prepared better before frying. The skin left on the pieces still had plenty of "extras" left on (like where the feathers were) and each of the pieces was really big rather than something closer to a bite-sized chunk of meat. It just felt like laziness in prep. The sauces were decently tasty. Overall, the amount of fried skin, the size of the pieces, and the left over feather bits, just felt gross and unappetizing so we threw most of it out. The woman working the truck was curt and pushy. It was mid afternoon but I guess they were closing (which wasn't clear) so we were told that we were the last order because they had already turned off their sign (or something to that effect). When asking about sauces, drinks, it was a very "yes or no, now" type interaction. Would have loved to see better prep of the chicken before frying, smaller pieces, and a more considerate staff to their customers.

It was lacking that strong garlicky, buttery flavor. It still satisfied my cravings though! The ribs were also good and were fall off the bone tender. I would pass on the Huli Huli Chicken next time because it was a bit dry. I also didn't care for the potato Mac salad. I would come back in a heartbeat. For a food truck, I'm thoroughly impressed. This is some of the best Hawaiian food I've had in Portland/Vancouver. I've tried GrindwTryz, Kiawe Island Bistro, Ohana Hawaiian Cafe, Ate oh Ate, Hula Boy Charbroil, Hawaiian Style Grill and Hawaiian Soul and the two places I would go back to are GrindwTryz and Kanaka Island Grill. If I had to pick between those two choices I'd pick Kanaka if distance wasn't a concern. Be prepared to wait a little. Service was friendly and we went with about an hour left and they were still pretty well stocked. You can also eat outdoors or inside at the nearby bar.

We also tried the BOP Bowl, and it was pure mouthwatering goodness. The beef was so tender it practically melted in your mouth. The little park to sit at is charming as well. They do have bathrooms if needed.

I got their kalbi burger and I could really taste the Korean flavors as it had a mixture of sweet and savory. It was a bit sweeter than I expected. The burger tasted alright but for me, nothing outstanding. We also ordered the basil truffle fries. The texture was alright but I wish it had more truffle flavor. I couldn't really taste it nor the basil. The chicken nuggets were okay, typical nuggets. I'm glad I tried but maybe eating it in person would've made it more fresh and the buns would be less soggy. I really liked the little cow we found in our fries. It was quite small though, good thing the toddler we ate with didn't take it and attempt to eat it.

They have 4 food trucks one of them being the 503 Hibachi food truck. My son and I tried the Hibachi Chicken with Veggies, his came with rice and I ordered mine with Yakisoba noodles. The chicken had a lot of flavor, I topped it off with sriracha for a little spice, the Yakisoba noodles where very flavorful and not greasy, the veggies were cooked well and had a lot of flavor. It is served with two side sauces, they were both very flavorful as well. We both enjoyed the food, the portions were very large, I took home about half my meal and finished it off at dinner later that night. The 503 sauce is a tangy ginger sauce and the seafood sauce is non spicy mayo blend. We ordered a side of yakisoba noodles and those were also satisfying. There are also communal picnic tables for this and neighboring food carts. A bit on the pricey side compared to other food carts but cheap when you compare it to a sit down hibachi place.
