Fair prices, quick, and friendly service. Very good value and tasty food. I personally felt that there were too many noddles compared to the amount of chicken in my pad Thai. Also, the pad Thai didn't have a very strong flavor profile, I would've liked a little bit more peanut flavor in the sauce. We ended up adding the leftover sauce from our spring rolls to improve the flavor. Pad see ew was perfection, though! With these noodle dishes, they were a little bit on the spicy side for 2 stars, so if you have low spice tolerance, stick to 1 star. We also loved the fresh spring rolls. Ok, this place is hit or miss. Got the pad see ew and it was off the charts!!. Went back a second time and was not the same as the first. Noodles were tough. Asked for no broccoli, but still got stems of them. Vegetables over cooked. Like I said, first time was amazing. Another time, ordered the Buddha bowl, was so delicious. It came in a bowl, everything was on point! Again, came back to get it again, and felt like they didn't know how to make it. Wasn't in a bowl. We ordered the pad see ew, which was excellent. Super flavorful and a generous portion. Definitely a dish I'd come back for. The Thai basil fried rice with chicken, on the other hand, was a bit of a letdown. It didn't have that signature wok hay (that smoky stir-fry flavor), was a little too moist, and lacked seasoning. We had to add chili oil and sriracha to bring it to life, and it could've used more chicken. The Thai iced tea was amazing. Sweet and honestly felt like dessert in a cup. Loved it. The service was really lovely, despite the long wait time. Someone who seemed like the owner was incredibly sweet and welcoming. He was smiling the whole time and let us know there'd be a wait and even offered to bring the food out to our car when it was ready. While we were waiting, he surprised us with a sample of basil chicken dumplings in curry broth. It was so good and such a thoughtful touch, especially since we were starving. Also, small but fun detail: instead of fortune cookies, they gave us rice crackers, which was a nice twist. Disappointed in my pad Thai. This was my first order from black house Thai food cart and I feel like it will be my last. I was looking at places to order pad thai and it looked like it was a decent place to order just a regular lunch size pad Thai. I was wrong. The portions are great however the sauce did not meet my expectations when it comes to pad thai sauce. Usually it tastes Salty, nutty, and with that slightly sweet sauce. But their sauce does not taste great, it tasted like sweet and sour sauce. It was definitely missing the tamarind flavor. The pad Thai also came with a calcium surprise of egg shells which was disappointing as well. Can't rate the service or ambiance since I ordered to go. This place is amazing. Why? High heat wok cooking. I haven't eaten every dish and eat stir fry and fried foods. So I cannot comment on other dishes. That "wok hei" Smokey flavor you hear about they do it unlike anywhere else in Beaverton. What is "black Thai" I had to look it up to figure it out. This review is only for the pad kee mao. I am a drunken noodles snob and sadly, the kee mao here does not meet my standards. I am not a fan of cherry tomatoes in pad kee. It just seems lazy compared to sliced tomatoes. The noodles are missing "wok hei" or "breath of the wok," a culinary phenomenon that occurs when the noodles are cooked at a very high heat in a wok. Otherwise known as the browning effect that adds depth and enhances the overall taste of the dish. Noodles are too thin and also does not hold up well as leftovers the next day. Basil flavor lacking. They still get some stars because the portion size is good and the order was accurate. I will not be ordering from here again unless they significantly improve their recipe. TLDR: The pad kee mao/drunken noodles dish is unremarkable. read more

The Black House Thai food truck is on the street on the West side of Target in So. Beaverton. I found it last week and have been back twice! It is a food truck with outside seating, covered, and heated (in cold weather). There is a larger Mexican food truck adjacent to it. This is my new favorite Thai restaurant for Pad Thai in Pdx. I got Pad Thai with fried tofu, medium spicy. I like some heat. It was excellent! It comes with about 8 large pieces of fried tofu, delicious bits of scrambled egg, and scallions. They put finely chopped peanuts and shredded carrots on the side to mix in. The sauce is delicious. You get a large portion. Their flavors and the texture of the noodles are the best I've found in Pdx. (I spent 3 months in Thailand and miss high quality Pad Thai.) There is a slender woman from Thailand who works there and is very welcoming. read more

Good, tasty red curry. For someone like me who enjoys food a lot but does not want huge portion sizes, the serving size was just right. And I even took home some leftover rice. Service was pretty good, but they did not quite get my order right. I chalk it up to the incredibly hot weather on the day I visited. Hard for anyone to do their best job under those circumstances.
