Oh my gosh - where do I even start with this place? I was completely overwhelmed at the idea of dress shopping, especially during COVID. While looking online at the different bridal shops in Chicago, I couldn't find a place that really had the style I was after (understated and chic, but still different from all the other 'simple' dresses out there). When I stumbled across Sarah Seven's website, I knew immediately it encompassed everything I was looking for. I was already giddy heading into my appointment, but Alana made it that much better! She was kind, welcoming, and provided honest feedback (which is really helpful when you can only bring one guest in with you). The tailoring team did a phenomenal job as well! Always open to suggestions while providing their own insight on how the dress should lay or fit. I had such an uncomfortable experience here. There was no AC which made for a sweaty and rushed try on experience. The best they had to offer was small room temp cups of water. It didn't feel personalized or special at all. The quality seemed overpriced compared to other places I shopped (including the dress I actually ended up picking). They also don't let you make changes like removing an accent/bow, which for the price is wild. Overall I do not recommend going here unless you are actually set on a specific design. read more

The consultant helping me felt very insincere. She asked me many forced "get to know you" questions, but I didn't feel like she really wanted to understand the dress I was looking for. We weren't aloud to look around at dresses and my family even got scolded and told to sit back down when they didn't realize this was the case. Disappointed. I have been in Sarah Seven several times for friends/sisters dress try ons and also know at least 4 people (including a good friend of mine) who purchased their dress from Sarah Seven within the last 5 years. The previous experiences have been good, comprised of friendly/knowledgable stylists, in-house alterations, staff offering guests glasses of champagne/water and providing a comfortable atmosphere for the paid hour appointment. Unfortunately a recent appointment with a bride (I'm the maid of honor) was extremely disappointing. First, it was about 85 degrees outside and there was no air conditioning/air flow in the studio. We were so uncomfortable that half of us were standing. The new blue walls made the space feel dark and the try on areas cramped and dark - away from natural light. We were not offered water/champagne and the stylist made all of us feel rushed throughout the 1 hour appointment. The stylist did not: - offer any additional alteration ideas (mixing/matching different tops/bottoms) - have any dresses pulled before we walked in (even though the bride filled out a questionnaire) - appear interested in allowing the bride to try on additional dresses once she looked through the racks We felt uncomfortable (temperature-wise due to the lack of air) and felt as though the stylist wanted the appointment to end as soon as possible. Very unfortunate experience (compared to an amazing experience we had earlier in the day at a different studio) and I won't be recommending Sarah Seven to future brides (as I have done in the past). read more

I cannot recommend Sarah Seven enough! I fell in love with one of their dresses online and after searching in Indy realized I needed to make the trip to Chicago and try it on. The showroom is beyond chic and Alana made my experience so amazing. She worked with me to try on multiple options, showing me where we could do custom tweaks if I wanted. Also something that really set Sarah Seven apart was that they let you undress and put the dress on in private before coming into the room to fit it properly. It takes a lot of the awkwardness out in my opinion. The do in studio alterations so I have had to go back twice so far and they are quick and easy to work with. I cannot WAIT to go pick up my dress in a few weeks and to finally wear it down the aisle in a month and a half!! If you are looking for a modern but classic gown. This is LONG overdue... we met with Uryah back in August and she was so wonderful in helping me pick my perfect dress. She knew exactly how to communicate with me in terms of being a guide, but also a confidant and a friend. We had so much fun with her! She was a great storyteller as well. I came here with a friend to go wedding dress shopping, and it was a really wonderful experience. You get the whole space to yourself and the full attention of one person, which really makes you feel special. (Did I mention the champagne?) Lauren was really sweet, enthusiastic, and thoughtful. My friend ended up getting a dress that she would never have tried on because Lauren was able to discern what my friend was looking for, even if she couldn't articulate it herself. The dresses are, all things considered, on the lower end of wedding dress costs for this type of store. Two of the three racks are under $2500. The dresses all have quite an ephemeral look - some with lace or sequins and very flowy. The space is very beautiful, with really fun touches, like the awesome light fixtures. If you're a bigger gal, note that some of the dress samples are going to be a little awkward fitting. Since a lot of the Sarah Seven looks have a built in bustier, you might have to adjust the sample dress so that it fits your curves in order to really get a sense of how these dresses will look. read more

I was planning a wedding in 8 weeks so needless to say I was on a time crunch! I tried on many dresses and Alana was so patient with me. My wedding was in May of 2022, and I got my wedding dress from Sarah Seven. It's taken awhile for me to get around to writing this review! My experience at Sarah Seven was unfortunately not what you dream of for your wedding. But let me preface that the first time I visited Sarah Seven and found my wedding dress, I had a lovely experience and really loved the dress, but unfortunately I felt as though I was misled in what the dress would look like once fitted. The dress I had chosen was Giovanna - a beautiful, fitted gown with plunging neckline and back. When trying on the dress, they of course did their best to fit it to my body. I loved the plunging neckline and backline but was conscious that I didn't want it to be spilling out of my dress from the bust on my wedding day - I was reassured time and time again that no, it would be completely flush to my body with no opportunity for that. I was like okay excellent! This is perfect, then! As my fittings came around, I was paired with a new seamstress at the Sarah Seven (they do fittings in-house). She was so lovely and kind, but unfortunately I could tell she didn't have much experience with this gown. I told her my concerns and how I was told the bust would be flush to my body, and I went back for multiple fittings and every time something was wrong, both in the bust and then mistakes she had made in fitting it to my hips. Their head seamstress then got called in to help fix some of the issues, and she told me that actually no, this gown was not intended to sit flush on the body, it was supposed to be loose, etc. Needless to say I was extremely upset by this and being told so many different, wrong things about the dress. While I loved it so much, I had chosen it for the reason that through my fittings it would fit a particular way and that ended up being very wrong. On top of that, the newer seamstress told me how to use boob tape to tape everything up and the way she showed me I did on my wedding day and it ended up not looking great it some photos. The day of my wedding I felt beautiful, but the dress and fitting experience leading up to it was not what you would want as a stressful bride. I hope this helps other brides when choosing their dress - Sarah Seven in itself is great, but be sure to get multiple perspectives from professionals and seamstresses in the shop before purchasing. read more

I had the most amazing time trying on dresses with Uryah at Sarah Seven. This was my third shop in Chicago and was floored with each dress I tried on. I couldn't believe how each one made me feel and they were all so different. Uryah knew exactly what I was looking for after trying on a couple of dresses and we found the one! I visited the store with my mom and maid of honor shopping for my wedding dress. The appointment reservation process was easy online. We arrived to the space a few minutes early. We walked in to someone else finishing up a fitting but no stylist to be found. After a few minutes, our stylist finally came over and got us started. We were not allowed to look at the gowns despite their being placed on racks arranged in the try on area. I explained what I liked and disliked and our stylist pulled 1 dress. I didn't care for it on the hanger but the stylist wanted to get an idea of my preferences so I tried it. I tried on a total of 3 dress with the same complaint about all of them. They're all made from a skin tight, jersey material that feels like the tube skirts all girls wore in the mid 2000s. With a 3500 budget, I was told I had about 5 choices and I was given 3 to try on. I'm confused how this was the case given the information advertised on the site. However I was highly disappointed in the quality of these gowns given the high price points. All 3 that I tried were at or slightly over my budget. At other shops the gowns in my price range offered better construction that justified their respective prices. Sadly not the case here. To top it all off, there was no air conditioning in the store and I was sweating trying on gowns in what had to be about 85 degrees. Sarah Seven made my dreams come true with my one of a kind wedding gown. I was inspired by fairytale costume designs like the "Breathe" gown in the Cinderella adaptation "Ever After" and Sarah Seven's Goldie gown hit the mark! I saw it in a window passing by and knew I had to have it. It was gorgeous and fashion-forward and made me feel regal. The local Chicago team were very hospitable and knowledgeable and made the dress to my measurements and did all the alterations as well. All in all an amazing gown for a perfect wedding! Found this place on IG , initially all dresses on their page looked amazing once I saw and tried them on I have to say that quality of the fabric is mediocre ,these dresses are made for skinny girl only and you can see all of your imperfections , most of dresses look the same and the most weird thing is you can't look up for dresses even f they are on rack in front of you all you can do is pick form the website what you like and they'll bring it to you (if the size exist ) I am an 8/10 size and literally all dresses where super tight and nothing special and prices are way over the quality starting probably from 3,300$ & up , and to top all this on you can't bring any Prosecco with you how boring , all dresses that I tried on were super dirty when I say super dirty GIRL I mean it ! Sweat stains , make up ecc , I was little disgusted to be honest , the staff was ok I've got Uryah she was just fine , didn't understand what I needed and wanted I guess , no emotions at all , I would say she probably was tired old was not in the mood basically do me a favor, and the guy I don't know his name extremely pre-period mood , in general as soon as we stepped in the Bible in the whole experience was not what I expected and I purchased the dress elsewhere, I highly recommend to try other stores especially the one in Ukrainian Village super affordable and beautiful dresses for every style and taste ! read more

I'm still on a Sarah Seven high after visiting and ultimately purchasing my dress here yesterday. I'll be totally honest, the whole "dress shopping" thing was a part of wedding planning that I was not looking forward to! I booked an appointment here for one dress in particular. My consultant was Meridith and I cannot day enough good things about her! She was sweet, fun, knowledgeable and best of all... did not push me to try on anything that I KNEW I didn't want. I think she could read me well and knew when I was not feeling something and had me get out of it and move onto the next one! She was so helpful at guiding me to talk through things, what I did and didn't like about each dress without being pushy! She offered tweaks and additions that could be done to dresses if they were missing something I wanted! The space was beautiful yet inviting. We were the only group in there so it felt very personal and I could be myself. I follow sarah seven on Instagram and I was SO excited to drink champagne out of their infamous mugs!! (Total fangirl) When I had decided on my dress she encouraged me and my group to take photos and sip more champagne and even let me lounge in the gown for a liiiittle bit longer! I didn't end up with the dress that I originally went in for, but I'm so happy that I didn't! Meridith made sure to walk me through the payment process, fittings, and when to expect my dress.
