I just got tired of them butchering my hair. Shear Artistry had a decent price for a haircut at $25 and the stylist working there had a lot of experience. Marcia is the one I met with and she was very good. I never left with a bad haircut or felt self conscious afterwards. I was so glad to finally have a place that cuts my hair where I don't have to wait for it to grow out to feel good about it. I had about 10 or so haircuts over the course of a year. I got to know Marcia during this time. She was very talkative and easy to shoot the breeze with. I would have said it was a pleasant atmosphere and positive experience. Now, the reason I only rate the place as 3 stars vs 5 is the way my relationship with the owner ended. I had a silly little issue with my hair and inquired if Marcia may have made a mistake on my last visit. She said she had not and explained what the issue likely was. I would have left it at that, but she just kept bringing it up and trying to convince me she had not done anything wrong. I acknowledged she was probably right, but I did say I honestly did not know how the silly hair issue had happened in the first place. I wasn't blaming her. I also was not saying I had done it. I just didn't know, but it was no big deal. On with life. Not for Marcia. To my shock and confusion, she chastised me for suggesting she had done anything wrong and essentially harassed me for the entire haircut. It was very awkward. I tried over and over to say I was sorry, but nothing I said seemed to matter. Even after all that, I would have made another appointment with Marcia. I thought she was a good stylist. But she decided to fire me as a customer. So I won't be going back. I don't need that kind of treatment as a paying customer, really. Update: I'd like to point out I commented on the good and the bad, and tried to be fair in my review. Marcia accuses me in her comment of never being wrong, but her attitude in her comments makes it clear it is in fact her that has this problem. It always amazes me just how blind arrogance can make people. I'd suggest she pull the plank out of her own eye before worrying about the splinter in mine. I guess she forgot when she behaved the way she did, that it could come back to bite her on a review site.

I thought my hair and style were just deteriorating because of age/hormones but after Marcia worked…read moreher magic I realized it just needed a really good cut! Now it's back to it's former glory. The best hair-cut in Town.

Back then, it felt like a total game-changer -- a place where men could finally get top-tier care for their hands and feet without feeling like they were crashing a ladies' salon. After moving out of LA, I had to end my membership, but I've missed it ever since. So when Hammer & Nails opened here in Geneva, it was a no-brainer. There's something about getting a proper manicure and pedicure -- especially when you're constantly on your feet and working with your hands -- that makes this not just a "luxury," but honestly a necessity. The environment is elevated, the service is consistently sharp, and the experience just feels different. Every one of my alpha-male friends I've brought in ends up getting a membership. Even my women friends, who usually swear by their Bali-style nail salons, walk out saying this is just a better overall experience. The only downside to writing this review is that now more people will book -- and it'll get harder for me to grab my spot. But credit where credit's due: Hammer & Nails in Geneva is absolutely worth it.
