I placed an order online, and never went in/talked to anyone in person. It was nice and convenient for someone who's busy and doesn't have much time to order over the phone/in person. And the flowers looked beautiful (based on the picture I received from my friend). I docked 1 star because of the delivery timing being kind of weird. I expected the flowers to be delivered the next day since they state on their website their last delivery time is 3PM and I placed my order past 3PM, so it's totally fine that the flowers weren't delivered the same day. The only weird thing was that I expected the flowers to be delivered...by/around 3 PM... the next day, but they were delivered at 7:30 PM? I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume it's probably because: COVID/they might be short staffed/they had a ton of orders, but it would've been nice to get some sort of ETA of when the flowers were going to be delivered if that's the case. I contacted Sarah's Flowers a few weeks prior to my best friend's 30th birthday. Since it was an important birthday, I wanted to go to a florist directly so I could customize and make the best bouquet to commemorate the once in a lifetime milestone. (Plus, with the pandemic going on right now, I wanted to support a local business) Initially, my call went great. The shop asked me what my budget was and was confident they would be able to create an arrangement to my specifications. I confirmed my order to be delivered after 12pm to my friend. The day of delivery, everything was a disaster. I called at 4:18pm to ask for status of delivery -- the shop told me that they had called my friend to confirm that she was home and she had informed them that she would be home at 5:30 as she was heading out to get food. By 6:30, I assumed she had received the flowers and was completely embarrassed to learn that she had not. Instead, she had been waiting around for over an hour (she got home early in anticipation of the delivery) and had finally called the shop back to check on the status. The shop then told her that they had attempted delivery at 4:40 but she wasn't home so they took the flowers back to the shop for a re-attempt later on. Instead of attempting at 5:30 as originally stated, the flower shop supposedly waited for my friend to call before hurriedly attempting delivery at 6:30. I called the shop to inquiry on status and was told a complete lie -- the person who I spoke with (I believe it was Angela) was completely indignant and blamed me and my friend for giving her inaccurate information. Rather than take responsibly for the mix up and apologize for the inconvenience, she proceeded to tell me that "I figure your friend will be home for the night so a later delivery would be ok." That is completely unprofessional and inconsiderate of other people's time. I did not appreciate her tone or attitude when confronted with this issue. I then come to find out that she proceeded to call my friend and report to her that I had called and was extremely upset. Bear in mind -- it's her birthday today. They had already ruined her surprise flowers (they told her what the delivery was (including what kind of flowers) during their initial call to check if she was home) and now they were calling to report additional issues. This shop was completely unprofessional in how they handled the delivery and how they spoke to a customer and a recipient. I will not be using their services again and would recommend against their services to anyone who asks. Even during this time, there is no need to be rude or unprofessional. I do hope the shop re-evaluates how they handle mix-ups with delivery and how they intake and handle customer orders. They turned what was supposed to be a 30th birthday surprise delivery into a whole mess and nightmare. Luckily, my friend was understanding and appreciated the gesture above all. Don't use Sarah's Flowers. read more
