This place is really great. Don't let the name fool you, it really is a little nook for nails. There are maybe 4 manicure stations and 3-4 pedicure chairs and depending upon the time in which you walk in, it could fill up really fast. The first time (12/22/17) I came in, I had made an appointment for a Friday afternoon, so although they seemed busy when I walked in, I didn't have to wait and they were ready for me. The 2nd time I came in (1/15/18), I was the only one in there first thing in the morning...but within 10 minutes, they had to almost ask people to come back at another time because of how busy they were getting. I got gel manicures both times and they lasted great. (To be honest, I had been getting my nails done down the street at another nail salon, but for some reason, it seemed like the last few times the quality of their products was going downhill and my nails that would usually last for 2-3 weeks were getting chipped, curling, peeling and cracking after only a few days.) And so hence, my decision to try Sarah's instead. Well that, and I had heard great things about how all of the technicians provide the same great quality service. I'm one of those people who must always have their nails done, my husband of 10 years has never seen my nails unpolished, so you can tell quality nail services are a priority on my list. Well, you really want a massage but you forgot your gift certificate to some other spa (that your last, last boyfriend bought you), and you can't afford/justify self indulgent crap like that an hour massage anyways on your own coin. Because you already have a perfectly wonderful house 2.5 hours away from the town you grew up in.. because because because because because! enter Sarah's nail nook. Walk in. Wanting to adjust my spirits. This place is simply wonderful, doting & legit. My nail painter was named Olga & she is great. They had great colors and give a righteous hand and arm massage once done with your talons- or non talons if you are like me. She painted them up for $13 Sarah was there too. I like her style. Olga later did the usual neck and shoulder rub, (that seems to be going the way of pay phone's & paneled station wagon's lately) and it was sooooooooogood. I left feeling like a person. The perfect little nail salon right on a main street in Guilford. It is quiet area, quaint salon and kind staff. I go to Fanny and she is efficient, quick and strong. They have OPI, ESSE and UV Gel. It's so wonderful to be addressed by name by everyone there and to hear them say hello by name to all others who come through their door. On top of that, their manicures and pedicures outshine any other I've had in top New York City salons and many other places. They care about the condition of your nails and skin and will advise you on what is best for polish. And Fanny is the color master for everyone! It's a lovely break in the week and so restful. I cannot recommend it highly enough. And the back and neck massages that are included with a manicure....unreal they are so wonderful! I rate this business with 2 stars because the owner was very unprofessional. (Granted, I was 5-10mins late for my pedicure) the owner hollered rudely as I walked through the door "your late! Absolutely appalled with this place. I went yesterday for the first time in years to have a UV gel filling, the owner performed the service on me and not only was distracted by answering phone calls the whole time, but filed every one of my actual fingers (not just the nail!!!) since it was the UV Gel they use the electric file to get the nail polish off. Every single one of my fingers are all cut up around the nail and are bleeding. So painful. I went back today to try to get my money back and all they would do for me was put Neosporin on my fingers. So upset, I will never go back to say the least. read more

This was only my second time there and I was shocked that the owner recognized me by name and greeted me right when I walked in. The best part is it wasn't just me, she knew every person that walked in on a personal basis, which made me feel welcomed and relaxed and gave off a very homey vibe. This place is totally opposite from other nail salons I've been to, at other places I always felt rushed and awkward like I was just another tip to them. The service itself was great! Truly wonderful nail salon. Not only do they do a great job, the cost of a manicure includes a neck/shoulder massage and paraffin wax in addition to the usual massage with lotion. They also are very clean with individual plastic bags to keep foot baths clean etc. All of the employees are incredibly friendly. Ok, I cannot say enough good things about this place. I was referred here by a an acquaintance. I had never heard of this place. Her nails looked so good and I was looking for a place that was actually worth my money, so I gave it a try. And am I GLAD I DID! The place is small and cozy. They have an amazing selection of gel polishes and regular polishes. From the moment I walked in I felt welcomed and taken care of. The ladies are sweet, caring, and do excellent work. I never felt rushed like I usually do in other places. Marcia took care of me, and she is very much a perfectionist, and I loved that about her, because I am one too. She did my cuticles the way I love, very nicely trimmed and clean. Took her time with the gel polish application, you could see none of them were ever in a hurry to get you out the door. And man... you get a paraffin hand treatment and a back massage. Where else do you see this? The pedicure was also perfect. They exfoliate, and do an amazing massage with hot stones. It just felt so good. I really needed that pampering. As far as hygiene, they looked very clean to me. They use plastic liners on their foot tub, and immediately take it off and scrub clean with sanitizing product when they are done with you. I mean, seriously. This place rocks. I live about 20 minutes away, but I'm willing to drive the distance for service like this. I will be scheduling it again! Sad I never heard of this place before. (On a side note, I recommend scheduling an appointment. They seem very busy. There was constantly people walking in. It was never dead while I was there, and this was on a wednesday at 12:30pm.
