Outstanding with large portions (probably could have been shared given the pasta appetizer). I had the Branzino fish which was cooked piccata style. Delicious. Again large portion and I brought half of it home for the next day. Place is hard to find during the day. They don't have any signs outside (they don't open until 5). Walked out in the middle of a $350 meal. It was my husband's 56 birthday and we wanted to go somewhere nice to celebrate. Had reservations and was sat at a very nice table with a prompt waiter. Everything was wonderful until a group of about 20 drunk 30 year olds was sat next to us. They were so loud we could not hear each other. The waiter saw how upset we were by it and did nothing. One of the guys then announced loudly we are definitely annoying those tourists. Do we care, NO! When I said nicely we are not tourists and yes you are very loud. That's when they became louder with not so nice comments. Unfortunately, the waiter served our food. We asked for to go containers. When we explained how upset we were, he said he could do nothing, but we could tell management downstairs. We went downstairs, and the woman manager was like, "Sorry I could have moved you if I knew." We explained the waiter knew. She was like we can put you somewhere else if you like to finish your meal. So we can eat our to go there after all this? Then she hands me her card and says we will give you better tables next time. Really? Spent $350 for 3 meals that were in a to go bag. I have lived in the Hollywood area for years, but had not heard of this gem until some friends invited us this weekend. All I can say is that based on my personal experience, this is a TOP restaurant. It's pricy, but we'll worth the ambiance, great service and exceptional food. Portions very big, and I suggest that if you like calamari, go for that appetizer; you will not be disappointed! All pastas are homemade too! First rate Italian in an intimate setting tucked away on a side street leading right to the beach. I came here for an office holiday dinner and dined in one of the upstairs private rooms - spacious and complete with a large balcony- perfect for a small dinner party of about 20-25. Downstairs a small bar and dining area. Oh yes- and the food is really good. We had a set menu and guests selected grilled salmon, filet, pork or a pasta dish. Everything was delicious. Pasta was freshly made and served with a rich and flavorful short rib ragu. The pork chop was huge and perfectly prepared. The family style appetizers of meatballs, calamari and burrata were all devoured. And the pot of what we were told was fresh ricotta that was served with the perfect fresh crusty bread was a big hit. And the mango pana cotta was rich and decadently perfect. Good wine selections, excellent service and classic supper club- type ambiance make this venue quite unique for the neighborhood. I love that you cant tell it is a restaurant. It looks like a little hotel or townhouse. Perfect for a special occasion or an indulgent little night out - as the prices are well above average. Overall, you do get your money's worth, considering the freshness of the ingredients and portion sizes. This restaurant was recommended to a family friend who is a chef. This restaurant is a hidden gem and it beautiful inside and out. We made a reservation for 4 in advance as we heard it is hard to get into. Making a reservation was easy with no issues at all. The meatball app, ravioli app, and complimentary soup were absolutely amazing. Service was not bad however, I felt the server didn't really answer menu questions very well. I ordered the yellowtail as our server recommended it, it was not bad by any means but it was great. For me, the fish was on the fishier side and it could of used more of the lemon sauce. Two people ordered the rigatoni and the fourth person ordered a seafood pasta special. Overall the pastas were enjoyed but we felt the entrees were not as great as expected and not as great for the price being paid. The best part of our meal was definitely the appetizers we ordered. Lastly the lighting in the first floor dining area was almost flickering, the lights would dim and then brighten which was very noticeable which was weird. So, this is not my first visit to the oh so popular Sardelli. I dined on Monday March 28 arriving at approximately 7:15 pm. Service which is usually excellent was so uneven. Our party of three had revolving group of waiters. Making for inconsistent and disinterested service. Our meal took more than two hours to arrive. I had the chicken scarpariello. Usually a favorite of mine, but it was not cooked through, full of potatoes and not chicken and the sausage, well it was dry and nearly inedible. My meal, with some wine was $140, not an inexpensive dinner for one. You lost me Sardelli. I am not planning on returning. BTW, we did not leave until 11:30 because of the delays in service. It was a Saturday night, in August, you'd think it would be crowded, but it WAS and there is a good reason why! Sardellis is the "real deal", it's authentic Italian cuisine! The ambiance is superb, The Sardellis have invested so much into their restaurant and it comes through LOUD & CLEAR. The service was impeccable, the food is delicious served with loving care. We took our family for a birthday celebration and found the meal very unsatisfactory. The meals were extremely overpriced, appetizers were tiny, salads unimpressive, and deserts very small portions. My husband ordered the snapper and was up all night with indigestion. I asked to substitute a vegetable for potato and was told there are no substitutions. I can understand if this is an early bird dinner but not for a $40.00 piece of fish. Our waiter was accommodating and helpful but the restaurant put the high tip on the check before it was paid. All in all, an unhappy event for a family of 7 to be charged so much money for mediocre food. We will not return! read more

Oh Hollyweird, what a relief there is a decent restaurant there. Is reassuring to find places like this in a city that lacks any good pplaces to eat at. With the exception of a few establishments, Hollywood has a long way to go when it comes to good food. That is way i was a little hesitant to try this place when my place suggested it, but i got to say i was encouraged by the reviews here on Yelp so i decided to go with it and i am glad we did. The place is on Hollywood Beach and its located on a side street of A1A (Van Buren St). They have convenient valet parking. The inside is nice, feels kind of dressy and the hostess asked us right away if we had a reservation, which we didn't , but the place was pretty empty when we walked in. I was surprised at her question and i reply: "why? do we need one?" and she said no, it's ok, and sat us right away. Hmmmm...ok a little weird but i thought ok,let's see if it gets better. We sat down and order a couple glasses of wine and took a look at the menu. The wine list is extensive and interesting and the menu has a vast array of italian specialties. I tried the burrata and the porcini fetuccini and everything was very good. My friend tried a salad and the ravioli. They also brought us complimentary roasted tomato soup which was very good. the waiter was very attentive and they have full wait staff that attends to your every need. Decor is nice, has a bar in the center of the restaurant and it got completely packed as the night went on. So i understood then why the hostess had asked us about reservations, people just kept coming in all night long. I found the prices to be a little high for Hollywood but the food was so good you know that you get what you pay for. We ended up staying for a glass of wine after our dinner was done and we never felt rush to leave the table like other restaurants sometimes do when they are very busy. Great service overall. Ate here on a weeknight evening. The setting is really nice, a quaint house-like building with a warm interior. Food was just okay. Started off with some appetizers. The shrimp was pretty tasteless, and the calamari was chewy. For the main course I had the cavatelli with veal shank and it was pretty good, certainly the best taste of the night but still didn't blow me away (it was rich, as expected, but without a flavor payoff and bite it needed). For desert tried the cheese cake which was uneventful. I tried a friends rigatoni and it was overcooked, but my cavatelli was al dente. It ended up being about 120 bucks a head at a table of five with some wine mixed in there, which I think is acceptable if the food was better. This would be a four star place if it was less expensive, but at these prices it needs to blow you away. Maybe I just caught it on an off night. I might try again as I really want to like this place for the atmosphere. I'll update my review if I have a better experience. read more

This is the nicest restaurant by the Hollywood broad walk. You do feel as if you walked into a nice San Francisco or manhattan restaurant. It's out of context! But fabulous! First, we were brought a complimentary portion of potato/Fennel soup. Ew? My two least favorite items. Wow! It was delish. I wiped the bowl clean with this amazing cheese bread they bring to the table with some oregano butter. We had the scallop special appetizer, the burrata with oven roasted tomatoes and arugula, the half moon ravioli, and the spinach fettuccine with mushrooms Not all dishes were are fav. This was a last minute decision for celebrating my wife's 45th...we had reservations at Mama Mia's in Hollywood, but I was a little put off by the reviews and perception that they were just serving huge portions of so-so Italian food. I couldn't be happier that we changed our minds in the car on the way down. I called Sardelli's and they said we could get a table right away. From the second we walked in, we were made welcome, seated immediately (okay, it was a Wednesday night!) and the great service just continued from there. The food was incredible! From the complimentary amuse bouche (cream of asparagus), crusty bread, the plumpest mussels I've ever had (including my trip to Prince Edward Island), to the amazing melt-in-your mouth veal chop....everything was perfection. AH MAH GAH BDAY RESTAURANT YAY SUPER YUMMY!!! Anyway I really liked this place a lot. We went to prime 112 for hubbys bday and he got the ribeye both places and it was way better here, and you don't have to deal with the miami fab crowd and the hour wait w/ reservations for what its worth... They bring you free soup and bread and both are fantastic, the potato soup is AH MAh GAH knock your socks off. Had the ravioli w/ ricotta and spinach as a app w/ the brown butter pancetta...so good...so good..so good... and the calamari which was on point. Had the duck breast and it was super delicous, I would def get it if you are not in the mood for steak...hubby's rib eye was the best steak ever but I wanted something other than steak this night. Our visit to Sardelli took place at 7 pm last night and upon arrival you are greeted instantaneously by the valet, which you should be aware is $6 (cash only). We thought this was a complimentary service since no one mentioned this as the car keys were handed. Moving along, the restaurant reminded me of a typical Italian house with multicolors and climbing vines. Once you reach the main entrance you are presented with a humongous wooden door with a lovely rustic look as you enter the restaurant it is perfectly dimly lit and an immediate ambience of romance places you somewhere in Italy. Very quaint and cozy. We were greeted by the host which she was very attentive and since we were celebrating my cousins birthday we had brought our own cake. She offered to take the cake and put it in the refrigerator until it was time to serve. We than proceeded to give her our reservation time and then taken to our table to be seated. At this point we were served water and given our dinner menus and brought bread served alongside cream cheese instead of the usual butter, ingenious if you ask me. May I add that bread should always be served with cream cheese. The service by the staff was truly impeccable. Not a beat was missed, however I don't believe I can speak so highly on behalf of our waiter, Orlando. 15 min after being seated we waited for our server to finally make his grand appearance..... "Hello, Family!", he exclaimed as he began to spiel the nights special with a very heavy accent. We explained we needed more time and went about his way to his next table. We were than brought a bowl each of their complimentary asparagus or parsnip soup as a starter, not sure which one, either way it was thin and creamy. Our waiter came back around shortly to take our orders. Little did we know that this was one of the first disappearing acts of the night. The full order was Charred octopus as an appetizer for $18; It had a little bit of an odd flavor. Perhaps, I think it would've been better with lemon it had a sweet vinegary taste that I didn't care for. I ate it because the octopus was super tender and it was done just right. The peppers were sautéed and they weren't mushy they were so nice and crisp, but they were a little spicy, the fingerling potatoes were nice. The sauce I didn't like much it tasted like honey mustard was tossed in. The sweet and spicy shrimp an appetizer for $16 on that nights special that was chosen as an entree with only a mere shrimps were plated. The pasta plate of choice was the Black pepper pappardelle lamb ragu, rosemary, black garlic $30; it was a little bland and it could've used just a little bit extra more of that Bolognese Ragu sauce. The 8 oz filet mignon $36, which was really good and cooked to perfection. 2 orders of the shiitake and oyster mushrooms and asparagus were also ordered. Everything was served al a cart because that's like the way steakhouses do. We really did not order much. A few minutes later my cousins niece expressed she would've liked a wine list and found it odd that one was not handed to her and gave him the benefit of the doubt of just simply forgetting. Eventually a menu was brought to her. My cousin asked which types of Riesling did they have, and the waiter responded that they were not carrying Riesling that night. My other thing was that he should've made a different suggestion and maybe offered that they had full bar or if there was anything else we were interested in other than the wine list, the fact that we had to keep asking him for things was a bit intolerable. I mean the motive there is to sell, the more you sell the more of a tip he gets percentage wise. My cousins niece made her decision and ordered a glass of their Pinot Grigio for $11 and was served a nice pour. Lastly, the cake was finally brought to the table and only because we saw it sitting on the salad station countertop for quite sometime before my cousin asked the hostess to please bring it to us because our waiter had disappeared once again. 2 words: Vinegar. Peppers. This place really impressed me. We started off with the calamari and steak tartare for apps. Both were great. The calamari was tossed with a light red sauce and vinegar peppers. The tartare was well seasoned and came with some crostinis. The chef also sent out a small tomato soup / bisque. Tasty as well. The apps were all very good but the entrees were rock stars. The chicken scarpariello was excellent. The meat was butchered nicely, very juicy with nice crisp skin and perfectly seasoned. It had the vinegar peppers as well. Overall it was a great, balanced dish. We also had the yellowtail francese. Again, it was excellent. Perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. The portion sizes for both dishes were great. We also ordered a half order of the cavatelli. Hand made and again, very good. Impressive size for a half bowl. They have a good size wine list to along with it. Sensibly priced compared to other places I've been to. Valet parking out front. You're steps away from the beach, with the water visible from the front of the location (looking down the street, not from inside though). Overall we couldn't have been happier. I had dinner with my parents here while in Hollywood. A lot of people were recommending it but it didn't live up to the hype. To start, the service wasn't the best, there were multiple people serving us and none of them had a clear idea of what was going where and were unresponsive when we kindly tried to get their attention. For food, we had the green salad which was good but cilantro that shouldn't have been in that salad, in my opinion. It brought weird flavors since there was so much and the base of the salad was romaine. We had the appetizer special of the day which was pan fried shrimp with some spices. The shrimp quality was good, but the flavor was a little cheap. I had fettuccine amatriciana, without pancetta. It was a very boring pasta overall. Ambiance is wonderful, complimentary soup and meatball appetizer were amazing, pasta dishes were good. We were seated on the first floor -- it is very loud but with a nice clientele. The lights kept dimming and un-dimming every time the elevator was used and it got a little annoying. The waiter mixed up our salads so that my husband and I got Cesar rather than Arugula and by the time we figured it out, it was too late. The Cesar salad was just ok, but the couple that got our arugula said it was amazing. After two bottles of wine, two shared main entrees with the other two ordering the pasta each, it was $100/per for six people. I finally visited Sardelli's. The atmosphere was very pleasant. I thought the food was good but I have to say I was disappointed. When I asked for iced tea I was informed they only had bottled tea. At a restaurant like this it seemed absolutely amazing to me. If for some reason they don't ordinarily make it then they should make a cup of tea and put it over ice.
