I love the ambiance of Olivia's. It occupies the lobby of the Circ hotel. Tall ceilings, big chandeliers with nicely set tables scattered about with big windows looking out at Federal's feeder to Young Circle. Tables are not scrunched together so you have room to talk privately. A big bar upon entry is perfect for drinks or dining. The servers are nicely dressed like a fine dining restaurant with manners to complement. Richard was our waiter and he exuded professionalism. I once took a friend here for a birthday dinner. We had drinks upstairs on the rooftop overlooking Young Circle and then descended to the lobby for our dinner in the nice air conditioned dining room. The food is very good. I've tried everything- pasta, fish, flatbreads, mozzarella bar, veal. It's always delicious and the prices are fair. The salads are fresh. Portions are satisfying. I love the fact that you can order pasta in a half portion if you want. The wine list is superb and again prices are not bad. Tonight we had a Justin Cabernet from Paso Robbles. A very nice, fruit forward wine. Parking is easy. You can valet at the hotel entrance or park in a much cheaper public garage one block to the west. You can't go wrong coming here. read more

This was my second time coming to this restaurant and it did not disappoint! I initially came here for my birthday dinner and had the best experience. The vibes were amazing, the food was mouth watering, and service was outstanding. This second time, last night, was almost as amazing as the first time, minus our server being terrible. They even had a saxophone player which they didn't have last time so that was cool, but he never came up to our table. We're staying in an Airbnb in the same building that this restaurant is in. It has two parts. It has a rooftop restaurant and bar and also an inside restaurant and bar downstairs. We were addressed by the hostess, and someone who claimed she was the "manager", but had no customer service at all. We come here often for birthday parties and unfortunately will no longer be our ideal destination to invite family or friends. The "manager" wasn't very kind and lacked customer service. We told her we arrived early and just wanted to grab a drink and see the view before dinner. She explained there's nothing they cant do a table earlier and we said it was okay but we just wanted to see the rooftop view at the very least, then we'd take a walk until it's time for our reservation. She wasn't accommodating with that request either, and decided to address my elderly mother as "lady" and my mother said "I don't appreciate being called lady", and then continued to address her as "you lady". It was my birthday and I felt uncomfortable being there at all. The "manager" then changed their mind after how uncomfortable she made everyone feel after hearing that towards my mother. She said "you can go to the bar for a drink, but we have no tables still", we said "that's fine we didn't want a table just to see the view... we'll have one and go". Afterwards two people arrived to our party late and the manager did not want to let them upstairs by themselves, so the "manager" walked them upstairs to the roof and told the rest of us we needed to go before we finished a drink. The bar tenders were so sweet and kind with us and apologized for us having to leave. We finished our drink, took a few photos, and were told to go even through we were waiting for the check...We will not come back here they do not respect the elderly or anyone else for that matter. It doesn't matter to many, but to businesses, reviews and customer service is everything. As I run one now myself, and was once in her position. I highly recommend you do better for the sake of the future of this restaurant ! read more

It is a nice restaurant. I advice making a reservation before attending. The place gets booked. I was hoping for a sevenish reservation but they were all taken and so I made reservations for 8. Three of us arrived at the restaurant early around 6ish. We wanted to sit by the rooftop. I was told it was not possible because they were completely booked even though it may looked like they had empty tables. Those tables were booked. A flat " No way Jose". They did let us go up to check it out. It was an enjoyable wait for the table. The saxophone player was excellent. We got lucky thanks to the second floor staff and got seated We had a great meal. We had the mozzarella appetizers which we loved. I had the sea bass. I loved it. The service was good. The rooftop was beautiful and the view spectacular. The restaurant has valet parking. I do not suggest to park at the supermarket. They will tow you. There are some not to many street parking places around. Some of the parking spaces you have to pay a meter. read more

The restaurant has an elegant dining atmosphere, extensive wine list, and live music on weekends. I ordered The cocktail "Young Vibes" and it was fruity and refreshing! It set the mood for the night, young rooftop vibes (HAHA) I had the Truffle White Cream Pasta which had mushrooms that blended well with that delicious sauce making it a go-To favorite for our next visit! The fettuccini Alfredo with chicken was delicious. Very fresh. I like that the chicken was Cooked on the spot and was not sitting cold like Many restaurants do nowadays. Thank you! You can tell this place really cares about quality and taste. On point! The rooftop view of the Downtown Hollywood park area was a nice experience! The service was friendly however I wish they would be more communicative with their specials. I brought this up to the manager and they were extremely appreciative with the feedback! I recently had a business dinner at Olivia's Restaurant, just off Federal Highway on Polk Avenue in the heart of Hollywood Beach. This place is tucked away and if you don't know about it, you can easily miss it. I enjoyed the Bistecca Veneziana, consisting of a 12oz New York Strip Steak, cooked to a perfect medium rare, served with potato rounds and asparagus. This dish was beautifully presented and delicious. A colleague of mine had the Chicken Parmigiana served with pasta. He told me that he enjoyed it very much. For dessert I opted for Cheesecake and it was both delicious and beautifully presented. The Olivia's signature in chocolate was a perfect touch! Our server, Brandon, was very attentive without hovering, always a good thing. Our drinks were never below half a tank and the entire experience was excellent! Bravo! My honest opinion is a mixed bag. Went with family friends for Christmas Eve dinner. I read Olivia's website as I had never been before. I REALLY wanted to try the Fettuccine a la Routa - where they make the fettuccine tableside in a cheese wheel. It wasn't being served on Christmas Eve as they "were too busy." Even at 8:00 pm, the restaurant was only half full. So that was disappointing. The website also says it's based on Sicilian Italian food. So to support Sicily, I wanted to have a Sicilian wine. Unfortunately, they only offer one bottle and none by the glass. So that was disappointing. Another of us wanted a clams appetizer. No. So that was disappointing. I ended up ordering a branzino livornese which was perfectly cooked. The sides - not pasta. Asparagus and mashed potatoes - again perfectly cooked - but I wanted pasta. So that was half disappointing. The bread - DE LISH!!! The butter, however, was way too cold and tore the bread apart. So that was disappointing. My bill - $75 (and they already include the tip) for bufala mozzarella appetizer (which was SO GOOD!!), branzino and a Negroni. WAY over-priced in my opinion. It should have topped out at $60. On the plus side, the service could not have been better, and a beautiful wooden / metal horse greets you - and it is a FANTASTIC piece of art!! I'm returning to Capriccio's. read more

I love this place. The food is excellent and my friends tell me they make excellent cocktails. I've tasted them and agree. However, my biggest complaint is that since the closure of Marriott Sonder, and the rebrand back to Circ Hotel, they ended their 5-10 happy hour and went with a more traditional 5-7pm. For locals who go their for a night cap from Circ Residences, this is a huge disappointment. This is the only reason my five stars goes down to three stars. read more

This was my second time at Olivia restaurant period the first time was for my birthday dinner, and service was slow, and mediocre period this time around, they step up their game and service was spectacular. The second time around I had to repeat what I got the first time which was the dolce vita. It is a risotto with chop shrimp such a spinach and goat cheese paired with a beet salad to start. This is a hearty and sharable dish and I love the combination creaminess of the goat cheese taste with the risotto. My date got the ravioli which I did not try. The beet salad is decent and also sharable. We also tried the Young Vibes drink and I think it's my favorite drink here. It's vodka watermelon and citrus, a sweet refreshing drink. Reservations are must especially if you want to sit in the rooftop which has the best views of hollywood and you can see the Hard Rock hotel from the distance. They have live music most of the time, a guy that sings or plays the saxaphone/dj. Recommended for a special occasion or a date that's worth it. read more

Firstly, it's been a while since I've dined here and I was shocked at how bad it was. The service was great, food was terrible. I ordered chicken piccata with a side of angel hair pasta with pomodoro sauce. The piccata was serves as 4 pieces of tough chicken on a plate and a very salty lemon caper sauce. The pasta was red! It was so deeply stained with the sauce that it felt like reheated leftovers. I've NEVER seen pasta like that unless it was infused with beets or squid ink. Also we were told the restaurant downstairs was closed for a private function, only to learn that this was a lie. They closed the doors an hour later and we could see that there wasn't a soul inside. Very poor business practice. I won't be back again. read more

We had an exceptional lunch on the top floor of this Italian restaurant located in Hollywood. The main restaurant is on the first floor. It wasn't open on a Sunday for lunch but the Muse Rooftop was. We had a nice view of the city. We were surprised to see a special menu "Taste of Olivia" for $45 per person. It is available Monday to Thursday 5-7pm and Sunday 2-5pm. It included an appetizer, entree, dessert and a glass of wine or champagne. I started with the Tuna Tartare, then the Salmon grilled, then the Tiramisu. Everything was so delicious and a real treat. However, when it came to food, not too impressed. We ordered calamari and zucchini. The calamari was good, however, the zucchini was sliced too thin. We ordered spaghetti with vongole with olive and garlic. However One came out pretty dry just a little bit of oil and the other one they put white sauce. We went to Olivia on a Saturday night and we were so lucky to be seated right away! First of all, the ambiance is beautiful! Such a gorgeous restaurant to dine in. The food was incredible. We had the beef carpaccio (best we've ever had), the lobster ravioli (SO good, the portion was HUGE, and each ravioli had a ridiculously huge amount of lobster in it), and the chicken parm (the chicken was sliced so thin and so crispy, and the cheese and sauce was delicious). Everything was a standout dish. The service was also spectacular. Our waiter was Brandon and he was fantastic! He took pride in his work. He was knowledgeable, helpful and efficient. What an amazing place, highly recommend for a romantic evening out or even a fun venue with friends. We had reservations for 7:00pm, a perfect time for watching the sunset from the rooftop. We began at the downstairs bar for a cocktail and then went upstairs for dinner. We each tried something different but for me, the highlight was the tableside cheese wheel where the waiter scraped the sides and mixed the cheese into the fettuccine skillet. It was absolutely delicious! They also have an extensive wine list including some superb Italian wines. We shared two bottles of the Cabernet #92. Definitely go, it's worth the drive! We had not been here in four years. And the last time we came was for a special event. The hotel has changed its name slightly, but the setting is the same. There is some limited street parking on the perimeter within walking distance. But since rain was predicted, we decided to valet park. For two hours valet, it costs $15. The valet is operated separately and there is no validation by the restaurant. But they do accept cash and credit cards. We came to join friends. This is one of their favorite places to go for dinner. They had made reservations. As it was a Sunday evening, off season, they were not that busy in the restaurant. We were greeted and seated right away. The wines by the glass prices were quite reasonable. I enjoyed an ice tea. We sat inside downstairs and enjoyed the air conditioning. We started by sharing an appetizer of fresh mozzarella caprese. There were two rounds of cheese on top of each tomato slice so it was perfect to share. And a very nice starter. Our friends shared a flat bread with prosciutto and arugula to start. The large portion could have been a meal. For an entree, I got their shrimp francaise. The shrimp were large and the accompanying sauce was delicious. The only downer was that I was told I'd have to get mashed potatoes and the veggie of the day with it. Otherwise, the pasta I'd been first offered -- and later told I could not get -- would be an up charge. It seemed rather ridiculous and was handled badly -- so I just had the shrimp without any sides! Luckily, I liked my choice well enough not to be permanent annoyed. My husband had their short rib ragu with pasta. He said it was very good. Our friends shared (a very large) mixed seafood over pasta dish. The seafood included shrimp, baby scallops, calamari, mussels, and salmon. They said it was wonderful. We were too full for dessert. (The men each brought some of their entrees home). And we were, by then, watching the clock for the valet charges. read more

I made a reservation in advance on Open Table for a rooftop seat, and upon arriving I was immediately seated. The rooftop is very pretty, and they have live music some nights. The food: Calamari: 3/5, not the best calamari I've had. I found the calamari to be a little too chewy for my preference, and the overall dish was too salty. I went through 4 glasses of water just trying to eat it. Caesar salad: 4/5, pretty good salad overall. It was a good portion for 2 people to share also. Ravioli Olivia: 5/5, very good ravioli. The sauce was amazing. I was literally dipping my bread in the sauce, it was that good. The filling was flavorful and not too heavy. Great dish Service: 4/5, good service but not amazing. Unfortunately due to the Florida weather we weren't able to get the rooftop view but inside was filled with people, beautiful music, and a live saxophone performance. The lobster ravioli was delightful but for the price, I did expect more. If you're looking for a sweet and tangy drink I definitely recommend "The devil went down to Florida".
