Capriccio's is a very solid four star restaurant. I came here to celebrate my friend's birthday. This is her favorite restaurant. There were six of us. The service was outstanding. We shared meatballs and tomato caprese. I enjoyed the meatballs. They were a good size and had agreat flavor. I only had one tomato caprese. I don't care for this but must say the tomato was very ripe and tasty. The penne was good but I wish there was more sauce because it tasted so good. My side salad was good. The vegetables were very fresh. I also liked the dressing. My chicken francese was very large. The interesting part is I did not eat much because I didn't like it that much at the time. I ended up bring most of it home and really enjoyed it the next day. Funny how that happens. The potatoes were nothing special. The broccoli was what you would expect. My friend loved her salmon. It looked really good. The chocolate cake was good and it tastes better than what my photo looks like. This is a classy restaurant to have a celebration. It is good food at a fair price. This is one of those places that when you walk in you are transported to little Italy in suburban broward county. Every time we come here, it feels so comfy, cozy and warm. We don't come that often but we have been sooooo many times and it's always so consistent. The live music, the different feel in every one of their rooms, it's just a great place to enjoy a family meal around the table. Side note, we threw my hubby a surprise 40th here 3 years ago in the private wine room and not only was everyone blown away by the food but the service is absolutely impeccable !!!!!!! The restaurant is nice. The decorations are okay, but the environment is really set with the live music (piano and violin). The place was great for date night, but it also had a family feel to it too. I personally went with two girl friends, and we had a great time! The food was delicious. They bring free Focaccia bread to the table. It also comes with a sun dried tomato paste, but the bread was so tasty. It didn't need the paste. I did wish they had olive oil at the table for the bread. I am sure if I asked for some I could get it. The pasta was delicious. The baby shrimp and mushrooms were plentiful and the best part of the pasta. And, you can never go wrong with a tiramisu. One of my friends described it as a deconstructed tiramisu. The food was amazing and the ambiance really gave that classic old-school Italian restaurant feel. They even had a live performer, which added a nice touch to the experience. The drinks were absolutely fantastic, probably the best espresso martini I have ever had. My only issue was the service; it wasn't terrible, but it definitely could have been warmer and more welcoming. Very disappointed. The restaurant is divided into 3 separate and distinct areas. The bar area is lit with a weird orange light that makes your food look an odd color, the main dining area that is packed so tightly that walking between tables to get to the restrooms is difficult, and a dining area that looks more like a banquet hall than a restaurant. Each area has live music playing different things at the same time. The food is excellent when it's done right, but several of our orders were done wrong. The meats were undercooked; we ordered the filet mignon medium and it came out nearly raw, and the NY strip we ordered well done came out medium. We also had lentils soup and pasta fagioli and both were delicious. The desserts were also amazing. The cocktails could be better and a Scotch (neat) I had after our meal was way under-poured; I'm sure it was less than a full once. The biggest disappointment by far was the service. We were celebrating a birthday and our server literally told us we had to order everything at once because they had 400 reservations and the restaurant owner said he had to get the tables served and out as fast as possible. Our server continued to voice the "400 reservations" theme throughout our dinner, which made us feel like we had to eat and leave quickly. The prices are definitely on the high end, and we expected better service for the value. We were very disappointed. I don't recommend it and I won't be back. read more

Another date night in the books! This place is a hidden gem on the border of Hollywood and Pembroke pines. We got there right at 5pm for an early dinner so we were both starving...I did make reservations since a few people told me they do get pretty busy. We may not be able to come here all the time BUT it was so worth it and we will definitely be back. Went to this restaurant on Christmas Eve! We just love it! Excellent experience, from the delicious Italian food to the waiter which was one of the best service I have gotten. I ate here once in...I think it was 1995. I live near here and really don't know why I haven't gone back. Well, tonight I did. We were sat in a very nice booth in the bar area. I have to say...there was a not great smell when we walked in. It dissipated but can't figure out what it was. Service was excellent. We got there before the music started and left right when it started. They have live music nightly which is nice. We were served bread with a red sort of sauce. Neither of us were a fan of the bread. It lacked flavor. The mussels with white wine sauce were delicious. J do wish they were bigger. We each had a side salad. This had a very tasty dressing and was fresh. My entree was delicious! It was the Penne Marie E Note. It is penne with a creamy vodka sauce and mushrooms. It comes with baby shrimp but I substituted that for grilled chicken. I like big shrimp!! Anyway, this was a HUGE portion. I took home half. He ordered the grilled chicken with balsamic glaze and roasted potatoes. I kept thinking the balsamic glaze was chocolate sauce. I tried it. It was ok. The potatoes were kind of good. We had tiramisu. It was very good. There are other entrees that sound good as well. Capriccio's has been in business since 1987. It's romantic & rustic with various seating areas, including a decadent bar that sits under a glamorous chandelier. We were sat & greeted by staff immediately. We didn't interact with a single employee there without being told "Happy Valentine's Day" at least once. Now to the food... The complimentary bread & salad were simple but so good/fresh. We had a bottle of Rodney Strong Merlot which was perfect & not too dry. For our entrees, I had Chicken Parmigiana & my boyfriend had Snapper Meuniere. My chicken breast was huge, perfectly cooked & topped with the perfect amount of cheese/marinara. My boyfriend also loved his food to my relief because he can be picky with sauces. Aside from the kitchen doing a great job, the servers were exceptional. Our wine & water glasses were always filled. We were checked on often by the two servers covering our area and numerous other staff members. The ambiance is wonderful! With reservations seating immediate. The interior is well designed, clean & aroma of garlic with Italian food pervades. Service is spot on. They do there best even over a Holiday. On a recent Holiday we waited over an hour for our salad, then over an hour for our dinner. I had to leave a second review because Michael has done it again! A year later He's still an absolute treasure, always funny and helpful with the menu. My boyfriend always gets the pear pasta (Fiocchi De Pera), which is top-tier. I usually try the specials, but the pear pasta is my go-to. The mozzarella and tomato appetizer is always a hit, and the complimentary bread and tomato sauce are yummy! We also had a bottle of Pinot Grigio, and they play live music too. Tonight, Michael suggested we add Italian bacon (panchetta) to our usual fiocchi di pera with chicken, and it was delicious! Celebrated a friend's birthday as a large group at this restaurant. The place has a semi rustic Italian ambiance, and there was live music (it was a Saturday evening). The waitstaff were kind and attentive, although it was a bit off putting when they kept speaking another language amongst themselves while tending our group. They have an extensive drink list (I tried It's About Time and the Blood Orange Margarita - my favorite was the latter). Their food is well plated - our table had several appetizers (calamari, polenta and lamb meatballs, caprese salad and prosciutto - due to food aversions I only tried the polenta and caprese salad and I can say everything tasted fresh). My meal was the pine nut and spinach stuffed chicken breast - the sauce and stuffing was amazing, but the chicken itself was a bit bland and dry. My husband's chicken parm was delicious and i can't say enough wonderful things about their sautéed broccoli. The food is pricey, but it's not a secret.
