Brings back so much nostalgia, when Teriyaki chicken platters were $5 and extra chicken for $0.99! Customer service was okay. Will be back to earn more rewards. They don't offer sriracha hot sauce anymore.

I think it's crazy when people review fast food or mall food up to the standard of normal restaurants. They're not normal restaurants. They're meant to be quick and convenient. They don't have servers or real plates, they have plastic utensils and disposable trays. If you want to eat something decent really quickly so that you can go back to shopping, hit the food court, where quality may be a little lacking compared to a meal with wait service that's going to take over an hour. With all that being said though, I love Sarku Japan! I'd come here even if I wasn't at the mall, in fact...I have! It's amazing! The CHICKEN TERIYAKI is their best seller for a reason. I always get noodles instead though. I think they're way better than the rice and definitely worth the $0.75. I've been told you can ask for extra sauce poured on top for free too, so you should ask for that cause there could never be enough of that deliciously sweet teriyaki sauce! I think you have to tell the person who cooks it though, not the person taking your order, especially if they're busy. Lastly, the portions are pretty big. Like, I always struggle to finish or have leftovers, so it's a great deal. And if you want it to be an even better deal, you can add extra chicken for $2 and that will DEFINITELY be 2 meals. It honestly upsets me that some people don't appreciate Sarku Japan. For what it is, it goes above and beyond! Food is ready ridiculously quickly, like under a minute because of the efficiency of the set up. The flavors are richer and more interesting than the other food court options. And it's a great deal for the amount of food! What more could you ask for!

Not the best meal I've ever had... if I said it was, I'd be just being Sarku-astic. Inside the glitzy glamorous Memorial City Mall there is some okay food and some bad food and sadly, some of the best stuff is already going out of business, if it hasn't already before the virus. This is Japanese food but really it's just American food, like sugary teriyaki chicken and what not. Portions are not bad and taste is pretty decent, but it's still far from anything that you would want to go for, unless you're stuck in the food court and don't have many other options. Having said that it's one of the better options in the mall.

If you've had Sarku anywhere, this location isn't any different. If you like it, you like it. For me, it satisfies the craving just enough, and the portions are pretty solid. Lines can get lengthy but they move quickly. I recommend the teriyaki chicken over noodles with a side of vegetables.

Anyone that knows me knows I absolutely love Sarku. I'm not sure why but I'm obsessed with the chicken terriyaki and that's exactly what I came for. After reading some of the reviews, I was worried about visiting this location, but I'm happy my craving was set up the way it was, because I'll definitely be back. I came in on my lunch break kind of early, around 1130 so the food court was busy but not too much. There was a longer line at Sarku, but I only came to Memorial City for Sarku so I wasn't going to leave without it. I ordered the chicken teriyaki with double meat and no veggies with a side of fried rice instead of steamed rice. I also asked for extra teriyaki sauce. It smelled so good I had to take a few bites when I got to my car. It still smelled so good and fresh by the time I got home that I took a few more bites before I snapped a picture. The chicken teriyaki is always so tender and full of flavor that I can't resist. The portions are always enough for more than one meal. They also gave me a punch card for a free chicken teriyaki meal after purchasing five. Despite some of the reviews, customer service was on point, smiling and making sure everyone received their orders exactly how they ordered them. I'll definitely be back to this location.

Second Time i found hair in my food and was brutally disrespected.

If i could give this place zero stars i would. They have the nastiest meanest manager ive EVER SEEN. there was a hair in my food TWO times in a row and when i took the food back the manager agressively denied the hair was any of theirs and he began to cause a scene i front of other customers as I remained respectful and professional. Once he was finished he told the cashier to give me a refund and ordered me to "JUST NOT EAT THERE." So please pay attention to the cooks and if they are wearing hair nets and gloves, Because they will drop hair in your food and make it seem like its your fault. Location: MEMORIAL MALL

***Update 05/19/19 I decided to try Sarku's Beef Teriyaki and it's not as good as the chicken option. Aside from being pricier ($10.00 vs $7.00 for the chicken) The beef portion served is also way less than the chicken; something to keep in mind if you were planning to share your food.*** Sarku's Teriyaki Chicken daily special rocks my portion/value scale with plenty of food served at a great price (order the to-go box) There is quite a line to place your order but it moves pretty quickly. Upon ordering you are given the option of having fried or steamed rice along with vegetables. Here's a tip: ask them to pour extra Teriyaki sauce over your chicken; I found it a bit on the dry side when first served. My Son payed extra for additional chicken but in the ended up taking it home as it was too much food (though a good alternative if you want to split the meal with someone). Overall, Sarku's lunch special is a satisfying, affordable option to consider if eating inside Memorial Mall.

Whenever I am at the mall, Sarku is my go-to place to eat. I always get the chicken teriyaki with noodles and veggies and an unsweet tea. The portions are huge, so I always have leftovers. I also like to add the spicy chili sauce that comes in little plastic containers, since I love spicy food. I also love that they have a stamp system, so once you purchase 6 meals you get a free chicken teriyaki meal! Also, refills are free (most mall places charge for refills).

This place needs no gimmicks or people serving samples because it is so noticeably the hot spot in the food area. If you haven't been tempted then you are certainly missing out on great quality food for a low price. They make everything right in front of you which is appealing for those who want fresher made food. The chicken teriyaki is the go to option for most customers and it's on special there. Get that plus fried rice and veggies and you are set for a great lunch option. You'll most likely have some left over because the portions are very generous. The sauce needs a bit of kick for those of us who enjoy the added heat/spice. The chicken is tender and well cooked without many or any chewy gristle pieces. The rice has a great moisture content as Im not a big fan of the dryer fried rice. If fried rice is your normal go to option, maybe try their noodles for a bit of change. You can't go wrong. All for $7. Forgot: you can also get extra meat for about $2 I believe which is definitely worth the deal. Basically two meals for $9.

This is a quick easy spot inside Memorial City Mall where the food is fresh, hot and safe to eat without worrying about any food poisoning like at some of the other eateries in the food court which I will not name in this space. I'm certain you are probably aware that those 24 hour and 48 hour sort of colds are most often food poisoning instead of viruses. Sarku Japan's food features light flavors the menu is kept small and simple on purpose. Teriyaki (5 choices), Bento Boxes (3 choices), Sushi Rolls (4 choices), sides (4 choices)and 1 daily special are available. Today I enjoyed a Chicken Bento Box which includes a small side salad, 4 pieces of a California roll, a few chicken and vegetable dumplings and simply cooked on a flat top chicken over some rice. It is easy to fill up on Japanese food here for around $10 per person instead of $40 or more per person. When you are looking for something both good and safe to eat in the Memorial City Mall food court you could certainly do worse than Sarku Japan. I do recommend Sarku Japan when you happen to be visiting this mall.

Greasy chicken tempura and fried rice. Other options are better.

Nonetheless, you're guaranteed to have a great time here with friends. Walking in, I'm not gonna lie, this isn't the nicest looking place. There's a certain old school feel with mismatched chairs, a variety of tables, and some booths that can use a little TLC. The dated, mismatched aesthetic is part of the vibe though honestly so don't let that stop you from having a good time. There's a big open area for karaoke with those sitting around you, and then smaller private rooms if you want it just for your own group. Service wise, Genji's is honestly solid. They have bottle service available where you'll get your liquor of choice, shot cups, chasers/mixers, ice, and plenty of cups. Don't skip out on the food here either. The beef tongue, French fries, chicken karaage, omurice, and cheesecake are must try items! Overall, come to Genji's for a great time, they've been here for years for a reason!

All the fries stuff was evenly coated, and well done. The noodles were more like food fillers. I would skip the takoyaki next time. The room definitely gives an 80s vibe and a bit dingy. The 4 season roll was also great, with good cuts of fish, not too fishy. The takoyaki was perfectly crispy with a good filling and just the right amount of octopus. We accidentally let the gyu suji sit out too long so it got cold and gelatinous, but they were super nice about reheating it for us. Inside were tables with grills spread between 4 people of seating. There were both booths and tables. Everything was wooden and Japanese aesthetic inspired. You can control the grill flame with the knob next to your table, and it's completely self-serve they give you a couple tongs but otherwise you're all good to go. We ordered the meat lovers platter for 2 and it was more than enough food for 2 people. It came with rice, miso soup, a chicken, short rib, beef, edamame and a salad. This was a solid deal for 2 ($72 per person and $36 each). For two this price is reasonable, and more than enough food. Not included in this price, but offered at the restaurant are various options of soju, Sapporo beer and lychee cocktails. However, my only issue was that the other half of our party wanted to do AYCE. The AYCE starts at $45 and then goes up to $80. You have 90 minutes to eat this and they put up a wall between you and your party. For the cuts and meat, i doubt you'll get your money's worth unless you're willing to eat a lot,. This issue too is that the structure of the restaurant doesn't have a few hoods like other barbecue places. So it gets very hot inside as well as the smell of barbecue gets all over you. The parking situation is fine and there's probably around 50 people worth of seating inside.

I came out around 1:30 pm on a weekday and upon arrival I was seated instantly. Even though there weren't many customers it took about 10 minutes for my server to come and greet me and ask if I wanted to start off with any drinks. By the time she came I was ready to order and was asking her questions about the menu but she seemed very unfamiliar with it and couldn't give me clear answers. I didn't mind her going to double check with the kitchen but it seemed as if she kept trying to make assumptions about how the dishes were prepared without being completely sure of it. I ended up ordering a plain snack size shrimp tempura roll, shrimp fried rice, sesame garlic wings, and pineapple cake. Maybe I should've specified how I wanted the order of my food to come out but one of the first things that came out was the pineapple cake served with ice cream which I found very odd! I've never had my dessert come out first when dining out, so by the time I got to taste it at the end of my meal all the ice cream melted and the cake was no longer warm. My wings and fried rice were also brought out at the same time with the cake. As I was about to eat my wings there was a long blonde hair underneath and between two wings. At this point I kind of checked out and realized I wasn't going to have a good experience. I verified with my server that she saw the hair as well and asked her to kindly remake them which she did. Finally at the end of everything my sushi came out, and I believe my shrimp were undercooked but I didn't even complain because it wasn't worth it. As for the wings and fried rice it was decent but not great. I also ordered a strawberry lemonade to go, and it was brought out in a kids cup which has never been given to me at other locations. Overall, it just wasn't a good dining experience for me what so ever. I didn't feel any type of warm or welcoming hospitality. I was looking forward to this visit because I was redeeming my birthday reward for being a member, but I just wish I would've stuck to the highland village location! **Additionally, parking is a pain in citycentre!!!! They do have some garages that allow you to park for free at upper levels which is what I did but you will have to walk. It costs $2.50 per 30 mins to park near the restaurant and parking is not validated.**
