I just had dinner at Sarku in Pheasant Lane. They made their boxes smaller by 1/5 ish to hide smaller portions. It's so damn sneaky and dishonest. There is no sign saying the portion is smaller, extra chicken still says the same portion but they are serving WAY less for the same money! Really disappointed. read more

EXCELLENT cheap food! I always get the #1. It is the best seller according to their sign. Chicken teriyaki with vegetables and white rice. Substitute fried rice (.50 cents extra which is so worth it) and add 3 spoonfuls of extra sauce (no charge). The taste of it actually cooked on a grill is strong and it has never been dried out. I actually really liked this place. I loved to order the bento box and always got my rolls without avocado because I'm allergic. Well as soon as an older lady started working the front she started to give me problems. One day I asked for it again and she said no but asked the person making it and the guy said no they can't do it even though they make the rolls fresh!!!!! How can you not make rolls and leave out an ingredient for your paying customer? I will never spend another dime there its not worth it. read more

Its crazy, this place really doesn't make sense, the sign says Japanese food yet it CLEARLY serves Chinese food. CONNECT with your customers, with 3 other Chinese shops nearby, put your HEART into what you're selling. Don't be a robot when taking our order, associate, make slight conversations, crack some jokes! Don't be so serious/stiff, it makes us nervous to go back. Also I can't STAND the constant clanging of the utensils and dishes! I'm fully aware that you're trying to attract customers but please stop! If I could give no stars I would. I asked for a seperate container for the chicken and rice for my child and 4 employees informed me that they could not cater to allergies or disabilities. The food is fine but the service is awful. I had a pass for a free plate, which I always get a stamp for my chicken bento box but when I went to redeem it, they said it's only for the chicken teriyaki plate. Wouldn't it be better if you just made me pay a little extra for something I do want rather than throwing my card back at me denying me? Ridiculous. Not going here anymore. It doesn't matter how many times you repeat and ask for "NO Sauce on my order" they will pure a big spoon of that on your plate! I don't know if it's language barrier, lack of training or professionalism. The so called salad tastes really bad kind of bitter and the rice is not properly cooked. I'm a huge fan of the Sarku Japan franchise. In the past when I traveled for work, I would seek out Sarku Japan restaurants in the city I was in. This location is pretty good when compared to the Manchester Mall location. I typically order the beef and shrimp combo. There's normally a long line when I order but it makes sense because the food is delicious. The meat isn't over or undercooked--it's just right. This is my favorite restaurant in the Pheasant Lane Mall food court. read more

I like their food and yes they are quiet, it is their culture to be quiet unlike us who tend to be extroverts. They take the order, don't mess it up, your food is made right in-front of you, and its good food. I don't think there is much more you need. Also, if your going to a fast food place to chit chat with the help that is trying to get your order correct i think that might be the issue.
