This is a lovely little sushi spot with "spot on" quality maki And sushi. The steamed suhmai was excellent as well. We were however disappointed with the quality of the tuna tataki and crab Rangoon as the quality of the tuna left us a bit wanting and the crab Rangoon was obviously not their strongest offering.... The latter two prevented a fourth star. All that said prices are very very reasonable and the service and care are fantastic, as well as gorgeous presentations! we left impressed after our first visit here. BEWARE- A RESERVATION HERE DOESN'T MEAN A RESERVATION! I have wanted to try this place for a while now - even though I'm dedicated to two other sushi restaurants that are located closer to my house. I made a reservation for 7pm on a Wednesday, drove 25 min and was extremely disappointed to find that when we got there, they had seated a whole bunch of parties without a reservation and then had nowhere to seat us! They acknowledged they only had our reservation and then got busy really fast! What??! The entire sushi bar had seats available and those parties could have been seated there. This ruined our plans for a going away dinner for our son who leaves for college tomorrow. This is an update from a 5 Star rating I gave when it was under different ownership. Place is clean, Service is fine, Food is tasty and fresh. While I would still recommend this place I have 2 issues. 3 of us were drinking Mai Tais and we all found them to be a bit weak in comparison to other places. Also, the size of the Maki Rolls were at least 1/2 the size of any others I have ever got anywhere including there with the past owners. So small that I ordered what would normally be enough to stuff 4 people and I had to reorder almost the same amount so everyone in our party was full. The "Special" Maki rolls are regular size fyi. What a very unexpected surprise in a somewhat obscure location. This is my first time here, and definitely will not be my last. We were undecided as to what to ear for dinner, and it was a toss up between sushi and Mexican. Both places are in the same locale, but Dynamite was the first we saw. Food was great, service was beyond great with a very attentive and pleasant wait staff. We ordered 15 piece Sashimi platter, 1 order of Toro, 3 different rolls, and fried gyoza and shrimp and veggie tempura. All was great and fresh!! We recently moved to Hudson from the DC area. We were missing our high-end sushi restaurants, so we took a look on Yelp and found Dynamite Sushi. What we found was a small local eatery, tucked away in a strip mall. Our hopes were dashed, but we took a seat and decided to give it a try. We started with the "Appetizer Combo". I did not know what half the items were, but I will tell you that they were all TASTY! Like fight your husband with chopsticks across the dinner table for the last bite level of yummy. We have been to this restaurant a number of times. My wife, who is Indian, invited her friend (who is also Indian) over to meet here for lunch. They arrived at noon and it took the waitress a while to even come over to take orders for soups and main meals. More than an hour later not even the soups came out, with the waitress repeatedly stating that the chef hasn't made them yet. In the meantime multiple parties have come in, ordered (including soups), got their food and were ready to leave. I got two rolls of sushi, Boston roll(10 pcs) and Mass roll(6pcs). The sushi was ok but they were literally the size of a quarter and half an inch thick. I couldn't believe how small they were and I paid 24$ to still be super hungry. One of my friends has been raving to me about Dynamite Sushi, so I decided to give this place a try for DINNER. It's located in a strip plaza near the center of Hudson. Closed on Sundays. The long dining room has hardwood flooring with table seating and seating at the long sushi bar. The walls are painted a nice color scheme of orange, yellow, and dark blue with artwork and light relaxing background music plays to set the mood. I started out with a cup of Hot Green Tea ($1.59) and a medium bowl of Dumpling Noodle Soup ($5.99), which had 4 pork dumplings, rice noodles, carrot, snow peas, scallion, & onion in a hearty chicken broth. A good start!! For dinner, I ordered three Maki rolls ($16.97): Alaskan Maki (pineapple, crab stick, cucumber, topped with shredded coconut), Spicy California Maki (crab, cucumber, avocado, flying fish roe), and Dynamite Maki (shrimp tempura, eel, tobiko, cucumber, avocado, topped with tempura flakes), which were all very good and delish!! I needed a glass of ice water to wash down the spiciness of the rolls. The DINNER bill came out to $24.55 before meals tax and gratuity, not bad!! Overall, I had a nice relaxing meal and the food and sushi were tasty & filling and the service here was friendly. For a good value, I recommend stopping here for the Lunch Specials ($7.99 to $11.99), which are served Monday-Saturday: 11:00 AM to 2:40 PM. One of my favorite sushi restaurants in the area. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming. My friend and I grabbed a table for 2 sans reservation on a Friday night around 6:30pm. It was fairly packed but we snagged a table right away. We ordered miso soups, the Fancy Maki and the Spicy Phuket roll. The miso soup was awesome, great hearty broth with a good amount of tofu and seaweed. The Fancy Maki is a big meal for a great price, and the rolls (Philly, Boston, and Tropical) were all delicious. I also enjoyed the Spicy Phuket roll (crab, tempura flake and cucumber wrapped in salmon, shrimp and fish roe). It was crunchy, sweet and a little spicy. Hello all, I was a customer at the time when Dmitry P.'s wife who is Indian, and her friend (who is also Indian) were served quickly at a time when the restaurant was very busy, complained that they were not served and then were shown that they only put their order in like 20 mins before (in a completely packed restaurant because it is really good). They then were extremely rude while the entire wait staff was very nice to them and tried to go out of their way to help them and then the two "customers" left without paying and then had the nerve to say it was racism when they were really bad people. Utter shame on them. I was served directly after with my mom and there was literally every race in that room and they decided to be rude to everyone and make it about race to hide their shitty behavior. Again, I had to write this as a customer seeing people treat others in a service industry in the worst possible way and think it is OK to write the slob that was written here. You won, you dined and dashed but then had to make it even more about you and say everyone was racist. Again great place and shame on Dmitry P and his wife's poor behavior. read more
