Went in today before some Christmas shopping. I ordered a cold beer & the steak and cheese hot sandwich with a cup of navy bean and ham soup. All freshly made and served hot, served with a smile. My friend ordered the Sarno Special and said it was soo good. Five Stars!

Popped in here on a whim for lunch. Sarno's is located in a strip mall and a little off the beaten path of W. Eau Gallie Blvd in Melbourne, FL. The decor is terribly run down, outdated, and needs a major overhaul. Some of the dishes are plastic like you would find at an old school cafeteria and some are older, worn glass plates. We were instructed to sit wherever we wanted (plenty of open seating). We sat at a booth. The waitress was over to our table within a few minutes to bring us a menu and take drink orders. They have many choices on their menu ranging from general lunch sandwiches, salads, pizza, and pasta dishes. I ordered the BLT with fries for $6.95, and my boyfriend ordered the Gyro with pasta fagioli soup for $8.95. My sandwich was fine, but I got the "fries surprise" today with all the scraps from the bottom of the bag. The fagioli soup was served in a very small cup-sized serving and contained no meat (this soup normally contains ground sausage or ground beef). The Gyro was just okay and would have been better had it come with feta cheese which is a common ingredient in a Gyro. The staff was friendly, but service was very basic; take your order, bring your order, bring your receipt, and you check out at the front register. I honestly felt like I was eating in an old, Morrison's Cafeteria if anyone remembers those days. Felt like a throwback dining hall from the 1970's. I was not overly impressed.

Just found the little gem after moving to neighborhood near by. It's tucked in and if you don't know to look for it you will drive right by, that's why it's taken us 2 years to find it. I was told they have a great breakfast so we will try that next week. For now did dinner and they was busy for a Friday night. Still got our food in a timely fashion. However they do need to back each other up a little more. Our waitress had 3 full tables and the other waitress wasn't helping bus tables. So we waited for 10 minutes to get her attention to get checked out and to go boxes. But over all this was still a a good meal and nice prices. We will for sure be back

Best pizza in Melbourne. We've tried numerous others, and without doubt, this is the best pizza in Melbourne.

They have the hot griddles built into the tables so that you can make your own pancakes which is what they're known for. We didn't have to wait for a table and the service was pretty quick. I started with a blood orange mimosa (only $6.95) and it was a very generous size. For my entree, I got the 2-pancake stack breakfast combo. I opted for the lemon poppyseed pancakes (which the kitchen cooks), cheesy eggs, and bacon. My husband got the southern breakfast, and our friend got one of their scramble skillets. Everything was amazing!

After looking over the menu, there were only two main options labeled vegan with a protein source. So ordered the Breakfast Club that was indicated could be served veganized. The server was a bit confused and said "so with the veggie bacon" which o agreed and then prompted that most places then sub tofu for egg. But when the sandwich came it was sooo plain. They did not have a vegan cheese or sauce option so it was left dry and plain... I made it edible with putting the pickles that were in the side inside the sandwich with ketchup. After seeing other people's reviews it looks as if you could ask for tofu scramble in lieu of scrambled eggs on be of the plate but that wasn't a menu option. Wish that option was more spelled out becuase that would have made it a more satisfying meal.

Literally everything I've had at Keke's has been amazing. The French Toast is usually my go-to as they have perfected it. The pancakes and waffles are also top tier. I would consider myself picky about bacon, as some places miss the mark, but Keke's always gets it right. I would definitely recommend getting your name on the list, especially on weekends, as this is a popular place (rightfully so). Service is always wonderful and atmosphere feels like a diner in your home town. Comparable to First Watch, but I think Keke's takes the cake. I love Keke's and will keep coming back!

We are from the PNW, so we tend to be a bit coffee snobby. He also mentioned the waffle was perfectly crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and topped with very fresh fruit. The cheesy grits were by far the best I have had in several years. Our waitress Noelle was wonderful and kind! She did a great job. Great food, great coffee, and a fantastic start to the day. We would definitely come back. Sorry I forgot to get pictures, it was just too delicious to wait.

**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more Most of my fellow Yelpers know if food were categorized by a genre, breakfast and brunch has a special place in my heart. Ergo, I am on the constant search for more breakfast and brunch places to add to my repertoire. With that in mind, I must stress that Historic Downtown Melbourne a.k.a. Melbourne Main Street has an amazing number of breakfast and brunch places. But the one I admire the most is The Roots Restaurant Tavern, which I will shorthand simply to The Roots for the remainder of this review. Though an address is provided, it must be stressed The Roots is a little "off the mainstreet" of Melbourne Main Street. Just west of the train tracks, the road splits in which the northernly direction is the continuation of New Haven Ave. or the actual Melbourne Main Street. The Roots is on the southern road, right next to The Iron Oak. Take note that The Roots is quite a cozy location. On the outside, The Roots has this look of an old saloon out in the wild west. There are a few tables and chairs for outdoor seating, excellent for people-viewing while eating your meal. Inside, The Roots looks delightfully tacky with all the knick-knacks hanging around and about on the walls. Imagine how Cracker Barrel used to look before the new CEO decided the decor should be more minimalist. But my statement on how The Roots looks small from the outside definitely shows when you are inside, too. The place is small. They definitely utilize the space as best they could, with large party seating being in the back for only one party. Still, take note of this limitation. My waitresses were very kind and attentive when serving me. But I am sure you all want to know about the food. The times I have eaten here, I have had three meals: The Eggs Benny Flight, and Pancake Flight, and Shrimp n' Grits. I will detail each in the pictures of food (if I have them), but I will say that everything here was delicious. My one lone criticism is that some of these flights are best enjoyed with another, not by yourself. On a sidenote, the restroom is clean and stocked, but there is only one and it is unisex. As I said earlier, The Roots is the best breakfast and brunch restaurant, well for me, in Historic Downtown Melbourne. So it is understandable why I am giving them a five-out-of-five stars for their review. Food, service, and ambiance are all excellent and the issues are way too minimal for me to consider them having any major affect. If you are ever going to eat at The Roots only once. My suggestion are the flights. Either eggs bennies, pancakes, or mimosas, you can't go wrong with any of them.
