My podiatrist recommended SAS shoes would be good for my feet. Sadly the closest SAS shoe store is in Tarzana. The salesman was very helpful and friendly and measured my feet and brought out a pair of shoes. He stated they had plenty of room and would therefore be quite comfortable. I paid and wore them for a few days and they actually hurt my feet. They were a bit wider than other shoes I've purchased so I looked inside at the size and found they were my 11 W they were wide not medium. I called the store and asked if they had this shoe in medium. The woman told me not at the moment. I went to this story for diabetic shoes and was sold the wrong size on purpose. I guess the salesman was on commission as he must have had a good laugh when he said "These have plenty of room for your comfort. I returned to the store for a refund and was told they don't refund shoes that have been worn. Needless to say I do not recommend this store as I couldn't wear the shoes and the money spent on them was wasted. read more

I have been a client for this location for several years. I have spent hundreds of dollars on shoes. I went on line to see about some insert / foot beds for my shoes due to a medical condition. I found some for $39.00 and called by local store to verify they have them in stock. After work I stop by land picked them up, but was quoted a higher price. When I mentioned this to the retail clerk, she said this was their price. I made the purchase based on necessity only. Even though it was only $3.00 more, it just the principal. I bought a pair of sneakers from the Tarzana store during summer. I was happy with the shoes initially, but some quality issues don't show up right away. After a few months of wearing them, I stepped into a shallow puddle & water immediately got into the shoes, soaking my feet. And, the shoes stretched out, making them useless. That has never happened with my "New Balance" sneakers - which cost $60.00. Both problems indicate loosely-stitched seams & poor quality. There is absolutely NO reason for these shoes to cost $200.00 - unless the fact that they are made in San Antonio is worth it. In my view, it isn't. read more

In my first encounter with SAS I purchased one pair of shoes and one pair of tennis shoes. I was fitted for both the shoe and the tennis shoe and they both felt good as I walked 5 steps back and forth. I paid at the register and left. I wore the shoes the next day and I am still wearing them. The first time I put on the tennis shoes it seemed as if it was too big. When I tried to walk my toes slide down to the front of the tennis shoes. I took them back to SAS and was told that they have no returns and exchanges. The lady showed me the sign behind her that did say that. This sign is not in sight as the sales person stands in front of it. She only moved to the front when she gave me my shoes. Once I left the store I owned it. I will never purchase anything from SAS ever again. I know they have many clients and that I am only one fish in the sea. read more

I have developed plantar fasciitis and even with cortisone injections my foot hurts. My friend said SAS shoes were recommended to her 20 yrs ago when she was a waitress and even to now those are her to go to shoes. I bought couple pairs of I think it's called easy walk or walk easy and finally stopped limping at work. Im a Registered nurse and I need my feet. From 100% pain I have only 5% pain. It's been only couple of days but my friend said with continuous use the inflammation will subside. I wear size 10 because my foot is round but with their shoes I had to go down to 9w surprisingly. I have been buying shoes from here for many years, I usually stick to the same design because I know they are comfortable and work with my swelling feet and never had problems. I always stayed away from shoes with Velcro because I don't think it is strong enough. Well I was talked into some sandals with Velcro and after 2 months they kept coming undone and I almost tumbled down some stairs. I reported this to the shoe store and the man on the phone said take them to a shoe repair. I said this shouldn't happen after only 2 months of wearing the shoes. The Velcro is clean and it just won't stick. These shoes are poorly constructed. I will not be returning unless they do something to make this right. Went to this place to purchase orthopedic type shoes for my mother who just had a foot operation done. We ended up buying a pair and paid close to $200.00 The shoes that we purchased hurt her foot and we went back to exchange it. The manager Rockie and sales person Meldy were extremely rude, unprofessional and disrespectful to us. We ended up returning the shoes and asked for our money back. In no way do these people know how to treat customers and made us feel like we were wasting their precious time (by the way there were no other people in the store). Went into the SAS store in Tarzana and I had a brand new pair of shoes that I wore around the house and don't feel comfortable. The salesman asked me for the receipt and I couldn't find it since I had taken them out of the bag and someone probably threw it out. I told him I always shop at this store and I only wanted to exchange them for another pair that I know fit me. He could see they were absolutely never worn in the original box and paper. He said our policy is 30 days only and would not even let me do an exchange. I asked him who is the owner and he said he was ( his name on the badge was Edward). He said I am the owner believe me. I said I really wanted to buy some shoes but since he was so inflexible I would go to another store and buy shoes. I just lost $140 or $150 because the shoes were not fitted properly to my feet. They are no good and I will have to throw out brand new shoes since he was so nasty not to accommodate a frequent customer . Not a good way to do business Edward the owner. There were no customers in the store at all when I was there only Edward and another older man salesperson. If you are truly the owner which I doubt you will be out of business if you keep that up. Horrible experience with owner when doing an exchange. I will never shop at this store again or at her other two stores in Burbank and Ventura.
