Went for a sugar wax, came out with an experience. Pros: she is very casual and has great style and a nice dog, ambiance is amazing. ( it's in a house with a warm feeling and very artsy) Cons: I didn't get a sugar wax I wanted but wished I did, instead she gave me a normal wax ;( which gives me white heads ( she said sugar wax would hurt too much with what kind of hair I had, it all hurts I don't care) , not worth the money I spent for a normal wax. $72. This experience was better than I could've ever imagined. I came here for sugaring and wanted the works (first time ever sugaring or waxing); had a small issue with online booking (unable to select more than 3 areas at once) but she booked the multiple services for me! Unfortunately I have to update my review... While the ambience and Fiona was very nice, my after experience has not been. I have white heads and bumps under my arms. I have waxed before - several times, and without irritation. Sugaring is supposed to be for sensitive skin and so I would assume the outcome is due to something in the technique or wax. To be honest, the pain seemed unbearable at times, almost as if my skin was being ripped off with the sugar, but I chucked it up to the pain of a new hair removal process. I knew my lady bits were in good hands when I walked into Sassy Miss Waxy's cozy home spa and saw a coloring book of vulvas on her coffee table. After suffering ingrown hairs from waxing experiences at other establishments, I went to Fiona for a Brazillian sugaring after reading about it on her website. I couldn't be happier with the results. The sugaring left me with no new ingrown hairs or weird leftover bits of wax clinging to me. There was no red irritation whereas with waxing I would have to wait a day or two before donning a bathing suit. Fiona was thorough in eliminating all the necessary hairs, plus she worked on ridding me of some existing ingrown hairs. It's been about three weeks since my visit, and my hairs are now starting to grow back finer than they had with waxing and without any itchiness. And like some others have noted, the personal touches of your experience are very sweet. The pins, postcard, and note from her kitty Louie were a treat. From the warm environment of her home to the quality and detail of her work, Sassy Miss Waxy is now my go-to place for my beauty and relaxation needs. I've been meaning to write a review for Fiona for like ever now. I finally had a chance to do so. I've been seeing Fiona for my brows and lip for just over two years. She's so down to earth and I love her creative aura that she seems to have every time I see her. I know she moved recently and I have to say this location seems a lot better only because it's not right by downtown and the drive doesn't feel like a pain (depending on what time you go). I was initially very nervous because, like lots of people, I was insecure about revealing that much of my body in front of a total stranger. I'm a guy and I went to Fiona for my first and second manzillians (removal of public hair and hair around the bumhole). I don't have anyone to compare her to but I have nothing but good things to say. I think it would be helpful to other guys in my position to describe what to expect on a visit: Fiona's house is in a normal neighborhood in East Austin; it's easy to find, just look for the chimney painted up like a cat. You walk through the front door and into the waiting area, where you take your shoes off and relax. There's music and incense and fund stuff on the walls, so it's easy to chill and calm down if you're nervous. Fiona will be along around your appointment time. She'll show you to the room where the fun happens and give you some time to get ready. You can use the bathroom if you need, and there are baby wipes to make sure everything is clean and presentable. Then you take off everything below the waist and hop up on the table. Fiona will be there soon after. If you're worried about awkwardness being naked and touched down there then all I can tell you is that Fiona is very professional and chats with you to put you at ease. She wears gloves and there's less hands-on contact than I expected. You'll need to help her out by holding your equipment or your legs to stretch the skin flat and give her a clear area to work on. Yeah, it's a weird experience, but I don't know of a not-weird way to remove your pubic hair... Before you know it, she starts waxing. There are at least two ways she does this. The first time she did what was called "sugaring": she sprinkled something similar to baby power over everything and then spread the hot wax over a small area and quickly ripped it off. When she did the sugaring, it was actually a bit more painful having the wax spread on than it was when she ripped it off, because this wax was very thick and she had to spread it quite firmly to get it on. However, the pain during application and removal was never very bad. I never felt overwhelmed or that things were too intense, especially because we just chatted throughout. On my second visit about 4 weeks later, Fiona did a "hard wax"; essentially, she spread wax over a larger area than before, then quickly smoothed down a sheet before pulling it off with the hair. This time, the wax application was not painful at all (just hot, but not so hot that it hurt), and the removal of the sheet felt about the same as the removal of the wax when we did the sugaring. So which method is better? It's hard for me to say. The hard wax was definitely less painful overall, but that could have been due to the fact that there's more and coarser hair to remove on your first session. Both of the waxes resulted in the baby-smooth look and feel I was hoping to achieve. I did notice that I had more red bumps on my skin down there soon after the hard wax, but they went away in about a day or so. I'll probably just trust Fiona's judgment on what to do next time. When she's done waxing and given you a chance to check out the results to make sure you're satisfied, Fiona will apply a substance that's like a soothing lotion and then step out to let you get dressed. She'll meet you out front and you can pay (I've used my debit card through her phone each time). Then put on your shoes and head home to show off your manscaping. Each time, I've waited at least a day to have sex, as everything is pretty sensitive down there. The skin stayed really smooth for about a week, and then hair comes back in and you'll get disappointed about that; HOWEVER, you'll soon notice that the hair that grows back in is finer and much less extensive than before, so even with hair there, sex will still feel way better than normal. I have shaved down there now and again for years, but the results I got from waxing have simply blown that away. I'll be visiting Fiona regularly for the foreseeable future, and I recommend that if you are on the fence, you take the plunge and do the same. read more

When I pulled up to the house I too was thinking...uhhh really?? After meeting Fiona and seeing how personable she is I immediately felt as ease. She is friendly and understanding. I really liked the sugar, honey mixture she used as wax on me. I had never had it used on me before and learned that it isn't used much in the states, but I really liked it. She was quick and thorough. The pain was about average, nothing over the top. I really liked the results and would recommend her to anyone I know. I did buy a Groupon for it, so I am not sure I would want to pay the full price for the Brazilian wax as it is pricey. I will have to think about my next visit just because of cost. read more
