I had a very disappointing experience with this business. I called to ask a simple question about whether first-time customers receive any discount. Instead of answering my question, the staff repeatedly tried to sell me a six-session package. I asked the same question multiple times, but they kept avoiding it and continued pushing the package. I had already booked an appointment for the next day. However, they canceled my appointment today, claiming there was a "communication issue." When I called to understand why, they refused to discuss it and simply hung up on me. I found the customer service to be unprofessional and disrespectful. If a business chooses to cancel a confirmed appointment, the least they can do is explain the reason politely instead of refusing to communicate. I never thought I would be a good candidate for laser hair removal due to abundance of melanin glow but I went to a Yelp event hosted by the Satori group anyway, to find out more about the procedures from the people who actually perform them and I was better informed after speaking to both, Crystal and Dr. Westfried about their machines and the process involved. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that within the past few years technology has advanced, allowing people with deeper skin tones, such as my beautiful chocolate self, to enjoy the benefits of laser treatments. My girlfriend's Mexico wedding is fast-approaching and the is perfect timing to begin the process. I researched the Candela machines they use as well as their reviews and client satisfaction, specifically from WOC. Satori is a reputable operation. They have many accolades and Dr. Westfried is an award winning practitioner. They are ever-expanding with current operations throughout NYC, LI and within a month will be opening a new location in the 80's on the east side of Manhattan. I was able to make an appointment for a late session. I opted to get both my underarms and bikini plus done. I chose this location because it's only a 20 minute drive from home. They close at 930p during the week which is helpful. I was nervous about the procedure despite friends and the staff describing that it feels like a rubber band snapping on your skin (those still hurt so I wasn't exactly relieved by that comparison). I brought stress balls and lidocaine with me just in case. My appointment was last night and I was anxiously excited. I showered before we headed down; you should be freshly shaved and are not to have lotions or deodorants on the regions of interest. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we arrived to my appointment almost an hour late. Between crime scenes, accidents and the POTUS in NYC, it felt as if everything was working against me. I called and apologized and Crystal was very nice and understanding over the phone. Despite arriving so late, she and my technician, Mimi, were sooo sweet. I would suggest arriving at least fifteen minutes early for your first appointment so you may fill out new client forms, drink some water or tea and decompress before your session. Crystal checked me in and I chose a 6 session underarm and 6 session bikini plus package. Mimi then took me back to the procedure room. I don't think I even looked at the machine because I was sooo nervous. Mimi explain everything to me and gave instructions on what to do for the days and weeks following the treatment. The whole process took about fifteen minutes or less. In my opinion, the laser feels more like a finger pluck on the skin with a cooling burst of air before and after the zap. The diameter is pretty big so it doesn't take that many zaps to cover the area. I was in and out. After the session, I was good to go. I made my next appointment for a Saturday around noon so that the ride down is a bit easier. The facility is so clean; it looks immaculate. I felt completely at eased and now that I've experienced laser treatments on two of the most painful areas, I'm that I will be able to do more areas in the future. I have five sessions left for both areas (which feel fine, by the way...if anything, they just tingle) and will most likely have to have another 3 per area. Their prices are not that bad and very comparable. You get a better bargain the more sessions you purchase in a package, one three or six. If it's your first time, try them with a Groupon and see if you like it. I'm confident that I will be happy and excited to see the results! read more

Highly recommend for laser hair removal. The facilities are clean, the staff are nice, and the technicians are experts. I found the treatments relatively painless (though I know this varies from person to person) and the results long-lasting. The technicians are honest also, if you don't need a treatment they will recommend that you delay or skip it until needed based on their evaluation. I was running a few minutes late and showed up 5 min late- they were super nice about it. As a new client I signed the new client forms and then Masha (the technician) asked me a few questions before taking me to the back to explain everything. She was super nice and helpful!!! The therapist there treated me very well with patients and it was not as painful as I thought it would be. They use totally latest machines there and the whole treatment felt like a spa experience which only take 10-15 minutes. I have been coming to this location since May 2018. First started with underarms, purchased through a Groupon. I was getting waxed every TWO weeks, after 6 sessions I no longer need to shave! It's like magic! I now moved onto the bikini area and after 2 sessions I already noticed immediate results, no more ingrown hairs and only shave for the appointments. The sessions are quick and easy, underarms takes about 30 seconds for each arm. Bikini area is less painful than waxing! Wait time is minimal. I first bought a Groupon package, but they have so many specials running throughout the year that it is extremely affordable and does not break the bank. They also have a great referral program, I have referred so many friends and they have nothing but glowing reviews for Satori! My go-to technician is Larisa, but they are all fabulous. I have been going to Satori laser for the last year. Initially, I brought a package from Groupon, but they have been so amazing that I have continued. I have dark skin and have done side burns with them. Of course with darker skin and thickhair, you're nervous about whether this will be effective or whether they will be scarring. This was the first time I had tried laser on my face. I was relieved to know that their lasers are super effective. OTHER PROS: clean, always on time, technicians (even if you have different ones) take the time to read your file and change heat settings based on the texture of hair. Plenty of available appointments and they are open pretty late. Great customer service. Easy/digital check in process. CONS: none really, but I would say that of course each technician is different and there were some that I liked more than others.
