Located in Escondido on Grand near Center City Parkway. I have been coming here for over a year now. This place has soul. It is known for Yin Yoga, the type where you use breathing and hold the poses for 3-5 minutes. Please see my yin yoga photo poses. The majority of studios offer vinyasa or hatha or ashtanga which are faster flows. Here you can find power yoga and hatha as well. I'm big fan of heated Hatha...as it flows, but not too fast or demanding. The heat is like in low 90 degree F. I love all the teachers here. Also note that many of the yin classes run for 1 hr 45 min. There are not as many classes offered as a corporate studio, but I'm so happy this is here. Wondering the cost? It's reasonable. There is a free week for new people. There are many options: Single class $23, 5 classes in 1 month $200 $20 each), 10 class bundle (punch card) $170-$200 ($17 each), monthly $150-$170. The lower of the range is for auto-renew. So when you come to the 10th class on a punch card, your credit card will auto-renew. Pretty convenient. I am on the 10 class bundle cuz I have a pretty busy schedule. Sound baths are offered every 1st and 3rd Fridays at 7:30p, check website for $20-$25. read more

This is my local yoga studio and I love it. The new owners are a very nice young couple. Most of the teachers are truly great, Junko's classes are my favorite. I love the restorative classes with Bloom as well. They have a really good selection of classes, workshops and sound healing events. read more

There aren't many yoga studios in Escondido, but i was so happy when I stumbled across this one! They offer multiple styles of yoga, from Yin to Hatha to hot, and your first class is free! They have options to pay for one individual class after your first, or you can buy packages of classes (fair warning they do expire)! I love the owners and the teachers! They can help you in specific poses if you need help, or they offer modifications for the more difficult poses. I really like Bloom's evening classes or Ani's Yin with Reiki! Or Sylvi's Yin with yoga philosophy lessons. It can get hot in the summer on the upper level, so my stepmother introduced me to a portable cooling fan, which is a lifesaver as I can get incredibly nauseated when I get too hot. Have been here three times so far. Each time enjoyed the yoga classes. The instructions are clear and each class is unique. I had called in advance of going the first time to work out and learned they offer a free first class. I invited a friend and showed up ~15 minutes before class. The instructor was quite annoyed when I asked about the first class being free, saying they had stopped that a few days before and asking if I want to support the studio or not. Was not thrilled about the switch and tone but I paid for class and enjoyed it. Area of improvement: Would love more verbal or hands on adjustments! Tip: Try to get there early so you aren't by the door, it can be really distracting. Tip: They start and end the class I've been to with chanting. It's a bit shocking the first time! This is the BEST yoga studio in Escondido. I have been looking for a studio in north county that I could continue my yoga practice. I enjoy a more authentic class(not a fan of commercialized yoga studios). The Classes begin and end with chanting as well as a sound bathe during the final shavasana. They also offer a 7pm class 4 days a week! The instructors are really nice and always make the pose accessible to everyone's own ability and offer alternative options/props. 10/10 recommended for anyone who enjoys a good authentic yoga class - they also do full moon circles every month! HOT YOGA option mornings and evenings. Hot yoga is not offered by all studios so happy to find them. Free trial class. After that, they have a discounted class pack for first timers, sign up on their website. It will help if you know some of the yoga terms for the movements before you come because they do mix "yoga speak" during the session. 5/5 for instructors, loaner yoga mats, cleaning towels and sprays, pleasant, clean and orderly facility. Parking is tricky so plan ahead on your first visit if you are not familiar with the area. Parking on the streets is ok around the area, you can see the "Welcome to Escondido" arch sign for the city. There's also a nice sandwich shop nearby (Grand/Orange) called Sunny Side Kitchen. 4.75 stars out of 5 because bathrooms (2) is outside the studio, part of the building. If another class started, you have to walk through the class to get out to the lobby and get your shoes etc. If I'm wrong on this, I hope they put a sign note somewhere on their walls. Wish list would be a dressing room/shower rinse for those who need to run errands or to go work right after a class. It's a hassle to have to go back home. read more

I have been looking for a Yoga center since I moved to SD county from OC. I had heard many good things about Sattva. Today I decided to go in and get more information. I entered the facility and no one was at the front desk. I've been practicing yoga group for several years so I assumed class was happening and sat to wait until someone could attend to me. Shortly after a woman descended the stairs and said "what are you doing here? This is a yoga studio. How did you get in." I'm pretty certain it's apparent it's a yoga studio from the signs outside and all the related amenities and features within. She was VERY rude and gave me the distinct impression I didn't belong there and wasn't welcome. I was wearing running shoes, track pants, and a Columbia light fleece jacket. I don't look homeless, or incapable of understanding my surroundings. I am well-groomed and fit. She came upon me sitting quietly reading on my phone waiting for someone to return to the front desk. Fortunately, her colleague came out and said she would attend to me. She was very nice, and polite and gave me the information I was looking for. But thanks to my initial interaction with that very rude instructor I will take my money and practice elsewhere. You give the WRONG vibe for a yoga instructor and I'd hate to be in your class. read more

I reviewed several yoga places in town and decided to go to Sattva Fitness. I am glad I did! It is great, and they offer a variety of classes that you can take throughout the week. The instructors are fantastic, and the owner, Rached, is an authentic yogi. He is an amazing person too! My favorite classes are power yoga with or without straps, and Hatha. I am still relatively new to the practice, and I am still learning the basics, but I have jumped right in as I am pretty athletic and have taken advanced classes. Regardless of your level, all of the instructors will work with you to make sure you are learning at your ability and pace. I highly recommend this yoga center if you are looking to learn, or take your yoga practice to the next level. read more

I'm not really sure where to start, but the reviews for this studio are a bit old so I thought the world (yelp?) deserved to know that Sattva Fitness is alive and kicking. Rached is the best yoga teacher I have ever had (in 7 years of classes and 10 years of practice). He is so welcoming and gentle, knowledgeable and attentive. His adjustments are great and he makes sure to adjust both sides (and usually for the duration of the pose). His passion for yoga combined with natural teaching ability (something far too many teachers lack) make his the only yoga classes worth going to for me. The classes are well organized and paced, and follow an intuitive sequence. They're a nice mix of being meditative (but not at all contrived; a tricky balance) and a good work out/stretching. The monthly package price is equivalent to what many studios charge (reasonable if you use it), but the individual and 10-class packages are very affordable compared to other places (I'm looking at you, CPY). This is the only studio I'd recommend for beginners or people who have a history of injuries (or who would like to avoid injuries by learning how to do poses properly with an experienced instructor and appropriate modifications where necessary). There is a severe dearth of yoga in inland North County, but this studio more than makes up for that by being the best ever. So grateful I live nearby and found it. On a logistical note: sometimes their address in Google Maps (433 W Grand Ave, Escondido) is shown to be in the incorrect location of the corner of S Juniper and E 4th (how?); Google-map search Sattva Fitness in Escondido, and it's typically shown in the correct location (corner of W Grand Ave and Centre City Pkwy). My 62 year old mother decided she wanted to start doing yoga, but was apprehensive about beginning. I researched yoga studios in Escondido and had previously heard good things about Sattva. We decided to go to the beginners class as neither have us have practiced yoga before and it was an awesome experience. We walked in and told Rached it was our first time and he walked us through the entire process. During the class he was constantly moving about the room and adjusting the students positions. I think Rached could tell my mom was nervous so he paid close attention to her during the class and made her feel at ease. We're definitely going to be come back and buy the 10 class package, which is cheaper for patrons over 60. I think we'll even convince my dad to come. I would definitely recommend this center for anyone who has never done yoga and wants to get started. read more

I really like this place. I just recently started to go here, having never done yoga before, I wasn't really sure what to expect. But the instructors were very warm and welcoming, they would pay special attention to and help those who needed help during the class. It feels like this place is not just good for the wellbeing of your body, but also mind. At the end of one of the classes, the instructor would read a short passage from a book for insipiration and healing. I totally enjoyed the whole experience and felt relaxed and lifted. Everyone there is extremely friendly. Being that I was new to yoga, I got unexpected encouragements and help from other folks in the class. read more

I have been practicing at Sattva fitness for about six years now since it was in a teeny space in the Escondido athletic club. Rached is simply an amazing instructor, and practicing yoga over the years here has changed my life and my body in amazing ways. The rest of the teachers there are also very talented, patient and experienced. The studio is a social hub of North County too, and as it gets bigger it's fun to see so many people findidng yoga together! :) The studio is large and clean, and has all the best equipment. It's nice that now there are kettle bell classes, yin yoga, restorative, hot, and power classes to choose from just to name a few. Sattva is a safe space to begin a practice and get personalized, non threatening, authentic yoga instruction minus all the hype. If you already have a practice going, it is a place to get quality hands on adjustments, push yourself to the next level, and gracefully find your center. I first discoverd Sattva in 2014 following an injury. The studio is beautiful and it is very peaceful and relaxing place to learn and practice Yoga. Although the atmosphere seems to be quite pleasant if your 100lbs and in great shape, and or dont mind a little 'close encounter'. I'm honestly not sure whether or not I will ever return. During my first visit I felt a bit out of place and figured it was par for the course. The second visit literally my session was cut in 1/2. I guess someone else was more important. Finally on my 3rd - I got the all the time I wanted, but felt that I probably should leave. In particular Brian just left a bad taste in my mouth. I do not understand why an establishment with a descent background would employ such a person. Overall I just was not comfortable with the way I was treated, and the conduct of someone who is supposed to be a 'professional'. read more
