We were here last year on vacation and had an awesome experience. We met the owner and really enjoyed our visit. Just a great cozy pizza restaurant. Fast forward to 2025. We ordered takeout and delivery of 2 pizzas and a salad. OMG I thought last year I was blown away by the taste. We love our pizza in Arizona but this was over the top. As I said we ordered 2 pizzas and a salad delivered. Not only it was the best pizza I've eaten since last year it was delivered hot and in under 40 minutes and we are probably the last delivery from the store. We've seen Sauced for a while -- it replaced a longstanding Italian/pizza place in PB. However, one day we took a look at the menu and discovered they had many vegan options, so Sauced became a must-do for my wife and I. Stopped by one Saturday afternoon and we were greeted by the super friendly owner who walked us through the menu and made some suggestions. We ordered spaghetti with "meat" sauce, a pizza with vegan cheese and mushrooms, and fettuccine alfredo. The pizza was especially good, the spaghetti very good, and the fettuccine just OK -- needed more seasoning, kinda bland. Overall, very pleased with the food and the service. This place is owned and operated by a gem of a woman. Christina makes sure to provide the best service possible. The ambience harkens unapologetically back to the old days of beach life. The chef is family and he is doggedly committed to quality and tasty provisions. The prices are on par with every other pizza place I've patronized locally. My family and I love their pizza and prefer it to other bougie pizza places. It's better than the oddly shaped but tasty pizza down the road, especially the next day. Am definitely coming again as the pizza crust was just skinny enough to hold eight of toppings but sour enough for us to appreciate its own flavor with toppings. The crust was rustic and allowed us to enjoy the toppings. Ambiance is soooo vintage which gives it nostalgic vibe, comfort and family vibe. Be warned that there is limited street parking, so just aim to park in a closer spot in the Trader Joe's across the street. Their breadsticks which is claimed to be "little bites of Heaven" are overhyped. Ours were a little burned and not so fluffy. Think more of a thin, crusty type of breadstick. It's great that they have vegetarian and gluten-free options, but they do taste very buttery/margarine-y. Pasta is not thick, and does not seem to be handmade. Meatballs and blackened chicken was average. Nothing very exciting. Probably won't be coming back, but if my group is back in PB and need Italian, it might be on our minds as there are limited options nearby. Ok so I try to not yuck other people's yum but 4.7 stars?!?!? I was extremely disappointed in the quality and taste of their food. I mean come on, when you say hand-rolled meatballs like nonna used to make and describe them as one of your must try specialities and they are more like canned tomato sauce covered chewy "feels like ground up rubber" flavorless balls, it makes no sense. We actually ended up throwing it away, it was that bad. Moving on to "garlic bread" described as their sourdough with garlic butter which again in reality was like soft wonder bread covered in some flavorless butter and maybe some garlic powder and kraft Parmesan. Again another one for the trash bin! Even my kids wouldn't eat it. As for the pizza, I specifically ordered here and not Dominos or another chain, hoping for a better quality pizza that was locally owned, even that looked and tasted like a boxed pizza. Barely any pepperoni and a dry, tasteless crust. We were hoping to find our new, go to pizza place and that definitely did not happen.
