    Siamo Napoli!

Though our evening got off to a rocky start, Giovanni (the owner) stepped in and completely turned the night around. Our server, Jordan, made our dining experience truly exceptional! He was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, offered spot-on recommendations, and made sure our glasses were never empty. The food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the Cavatelli Al Peperoncino- Artisan shell pasta, house made fennel sausage and rapini, Calabrian chili pepper, and shallots in vodka sauce. The sauce was thick & creamy and incredibly flavorful- chef's kiss! My wife ordered the Campanelle Al Pesto- Fresh bell-shaped pasta with homemade pesto, cherry tomatoes, roasted pine nuts, topped with burrata cheese. The pesto sauce was rich, luxurious, and herbaceous. The Margarita Pizza was equally delicious. However, less charredness on the outer crust would have been more to my liking. And don't even get me started on the Fettuccine Bolognese- packed with flavor and spices! One of the best I've had in town! Drinks were definitely on point! My Negroni was well balanced. But the real highlight was the Whiskey Sour- it was smooth, sweet and absolutely refreshing 10/10! Overall impression, this small, quaint Italian restaurant offers a warm, rustic, and intimate atmosphere that transports diners to Italy. The restaurant itself offers a unique combination of atmosphere, food, and service that stands out from other typical Italian restaurants!

for our tuesday quarterly meetup, my group and i decided to meet here. Half of us have been here and the other half hasnt. Since we were a large group. We practically ordered the whole menu. Apps Calamari Arancini balls Burrantina Salads Gios chopped salad Mains Osso buco (night special) Gnocchi with truffle (night special) Lobster ravioli Spigola dello chef Bistecca Margherita pizza Tarfutata pizza I dont know about your crew - but when we go out, we want to taste everything. So we each get a dish and share family style. This is what works best for us. Everything was delicious. The ossobuco was tender, fell off the bone. The accompanying risotto was so good too. The ribeye was cooked a nice medium. Pizzas were always delicious. Gnocchi and sauce so good, we were dipping the pizza in the sauce. Lobster ravioli was hearty. Branzino was also delicious. Service was great. We all had a blast. Street parking but apparently there is also a lot in the back to park at as well. Definitely come hungry and in a group so you can sample!

Siamo Napoli is great! I always try a different dish and so far all of them have been delicious, but their pasta is my absolute favorite! I always enjoy their specials, and although it's always difficult to order because everything is so good, when in doubt, just ask your server.

Everything here is fantastic. Staff are top tier, friendly, bubbly and go above and beyond to make the experience extra special. This is some extremely authentic Italian food that I will absolutely be coming back to. Fresh ingredients, generous portions and beautiful ambiance. My favorite was the lamb ragu and limoncello cake. Both are things I wouldn't normally gravitate towards, but packed with flavor and pretty unforgettable! Give this place a try!

I've had dinner here with my husband and more recently for a friend's birthday and it never disappoints! They have delicious style Neapolitan pizzas, as well as yummy pizzas! We got the contanida pizza with mozzarella, fennel, sausage and mushrooms and it was perfectly cooked! The pizzas are 12" and sliced into 6 slices so it's enough to share if you want a bite of everything. We also shared the linguini mare that had plenty of seafood such as calamari, mussels, clams and shrimp. We also got the gnocchi with smoked mozzarella which was also so good! Everything was delicious and large portions enough to share. The bus boy was on top of it and made sure our water was always topped off! Great food and excellent customer service! Our waiter was Ernie and he was fantastic! The place is pretty small so make sure to make a reservation.

3rd time here! Always such a culinary treat! The bar staffs are super friendly! I wasn't planning on drinking but the bartender she made some really beautiful spritz and I couldn't help getting one! The other male staff also shared us the beautiful story of the restaurant, how they came from Napoli and all the recipes are passed down by their grandma! All pastas and sauce are all made in house. Super impressive !!!! They also gave our puppy some free dog food. And also the limoncello cake is to die for! We were so taken by it and we forgot to take the pictures! One of the owners Giovanni also came and said hi in the end. Super friendly and heart warming! And dog friendly! Definitely will come back many more times! ‍

What an incredible spot. The service was rock solid. I won't use the term great but good. The food was also delicious. The sauces were to die for and the noodles were cooked to perfection. The meat could've used a dash of more seasoning but still great. The pizza passed the hold test. That's all. Make sure you come in this place. Cheers.

As always this place is amazing. The food is just simply that good. The gnocchi is always my favorite and my new second favorite is the lasagna. The calamari is always a good option and the the artichoke blossoms just as good. The staff is always on point and amazing. These guys really know what they are doing. The food here is better than when we were in Italy!!! Indoor seating and very friendly and knowledgeable. The decor is nice.

Actual rating 3.5 stars. We were at the brewery around the corner and decided to stop by for dinner. Unfortunately, it was a little spontaneous so we had to sit at the bar, which was fine since the service was still great. We were given complimentary bread and pesto. The bread was so soft and warm; it was one of the best I've had from a restaurant. The pesto was a little oily, but it was still fresh and tasty. My friend ordered the cavatelli al peperoncino and I got the fettuccini bolognese (recommended by our waiter). Honestly thought the cavatelli was a little bland but I enjoyed my bolognese. Very busy and bustling inside. Parking isn't good but it's North Park so be aware. Overall, I thought the meal was fine/pretty good. Not sure if I would be back since there are so many other amazing restaurants in the area but this was worth at least one visit.

Had a great experience at Siamo, met up with some friends and we all had a great time with delicious food! I was craving seafood so we got the calamari app and I ordered the seafood pasta, soooo good! Hit the spot! Got to try the other pastas and pizza at the table and they were all incredible. This place is highly rated for a reason. Food: 4.6 Service: 4.4 Ambiance: 4.8 Marcels foodie score: 4.6

My friends and I went to this spot last night for an early dinner. The space was large and could accommodate larger reservations. We had an AMAZING Server named Ernie! The drinks were great we had the Negroni, aperol sprits and another gin drink that started with a G . To eat we had the a vegan pizza, Regular pizza, gnocchi, linguine, and branzino: everyone said their food was delicious and we can't wait to go back ! Also the desserts! Chefs kiss! Vegan pistachio ice cream and a chocolate cake

I loved this place. Jovani, the owner, was genuinely kind and made us feel welcome right away. The space is beautiful without feeling overdone, and the food tastes like something you would actually eat in Napoli. The ravioli was fresh, and the seafood plate was filled with flavor. Definitely recommend!

We (the 6 of us girls) were seated right away for our reservation. Ernie is AMAZING. Great sense of humor and extremely knowledgeable on the menu. He kept the drinks coming which we definitely appreciated! Food was SO GOOD. Love that they have vegan & gluten free options. There is truly something for everyone at this restaurant! We will definitely be back :)

Ask the Community - Siamo Napoli

Can we bring our own wine?

Is this place good for big groups? Wanted to throw a birthday here for 10 - 15 people

I've noticed a small private room in the back. It has a nice big window so you feel like your are still part of the restaurant. Not sure how many it holds. Might be closer to 10. I love the food and great service.

Do you currently offer outdoor seating?

    Yes

    Are you open Wednesdays?

Yes, but they don't open until 4pm!

Is this a Michelin star restaurant?

No. The only Michelin Star restaurant in San Diego is Addison. However, the friendliness of the staff at Siamo Napoli is worth a million stars! Highly recommended!

    Is there parking nearby?

We do have a private parking garage right behind our restaurant, it is located in the alleyway under "La Boheme Retail Parking" and after 5PM there is no need for a permit.

Do you offer gluten-free pasta or pizza?

Yes, we do have pasta and gnocchi gluten free. Ciao

What days and time is Happy Hour, and what are the specials?

Happy hour is everyday 4-6, and also 9-11 on Friday and Saturday. Wines are $5.00, and there are good discounts on three pizzas and 5 appetizers.

I was a bit hesitant because I typically cook my noodles IN the sauce versus topping them with sauce but this meal did not disappoint. Both the meat in the ravioli and sauce were very flavorful. The garlic bread was typical but still really tasty. The waitress was nice and hospitable. The ambiance was nice. The restaurant is located in the back of what looks like a store in front. I appreciate a nice whole in the wall, mom & pop shop. I'd definitely return next time I'm in SD.

Pizza Wasn't the Only Thing Getting Fired Up Outside…read more We weren't even customers here, but after what I saw outside this place I definitely won't be one in the future. We were standing on the sidewalk near the red seating area in front of Filippi's Pizza Grotto for about ten minutes finishing a smoke. I had recently experienced a flare-up of a chronic illness, which significantly affected my well-being. During this episode,I had felt the need to smoke as a way to manage the heightened stress and discomfort caused by my condition. Right as we finished and were about to leave, a police car pulled up (it honestly looked like the officer was just stopping by to grab lunch). That's when an older lady employee from the restaurant suddenly came outside and said, "Do you mind moving down? The smoke is going into my restaurant." Fair request. We immediately responded respectfully with "Sorry miss," and started walking away to avoid any issue. But instead of leaving it there, she kept escalating the situation while they were already leaving, repeating things like "This is a family business, have some respect!" -- which didn't really make sense considering we had already apologized and were doing exactly what she asked. What made the whole thing feel strange was the timing. We had been standing there for around ten minutes already. If the smoke was truly bothering the restaurant, why wait until the exact moment a police car pulled up to come outside and confront us? From the outside, it honestly looked like the presence of the police suddenly gave her the confidence to make a scene and try to draw attention to us even though we were already complying. It appears she wanted to get us into legal trouble with her making it a bigger scene in front of the police. Another thing that didn't sit right with me was that we were the only Hispanics standing in the area at the time and the only people she chose to confront. I'm not saying that was the intention, but from a bystander's perspective it definitely didn't look great. Also, I'm still confused by the "this is a family restaurant" comment. What exactly does that mean in this situation? Are people who smoke not allowed to eat there? Because we weren't even customers at the moment we were simply standing on a public sidewalk and immediately moved when asked. If someone respectfully complies with your request, there's really no reason to continue escalating the situation or trying to involve the police by drawing attention to it. If this is how people are treated outside the restaurant, it doesn't exactly inspire confidence about how customers are treated inside. It appears that if you're Hispanic or a smoker you should steer clear of this place. I wouldn't be surprised if she has ICE on speed dial.

Next, we got a glass of prosecco. I told the waiter that I only like wine that tastes much more sweet then bitter or strong and he made a perfect suggestion along with giving us a sampler of 3 different wines which was so generous. I got to try them all and pick the one I liked the most, but even the samples were a generous size. For main course I got one of the current options for the cheese wheel pasta they make in front of you in cacio e pepe and my husband got the formaggi pizza with truffle mushrooms. My husband absolutely loved his pizza and the crust was one of the best he's ever had. My pasta was fresh and had a ton of sauce and cream so they didn't skimp at all. I could tell easily that they use very high quality Parmesan because i'm a Parmesan connoisseur and could taste how potent it was. They let me have as much extra as I wanted on without limiting since I enjoy a lot on it which was also a plus in my book. Next time I would get a pasta that's a little lighter, because it was a more heavy dish and it tends to make me feel pretty full after which is totally a me thing, but they have so much on the menu to try that I'm sure I'll love whatever I get even more next time. Lastly, dessert. We got a regular tiramisu and it was absolutely amazing. They put a ton of cream which is exactly what I look for. It wasn't too espresso or cocoa strong and had a perfect ratio. The cream was so light and fluffy that we had to get another one to bring home and eat tomorrow night! I had seen a previous review on here about someone not liking the tiramisu here and it not meeting their expectations for a more upscale Italian place but I've been to quite a few authentic Italian gems and this one had tiramisu up there so I'd have to disagree and completely recommend! The service was impeccable. Every waiter was kind and prompt, constantly making sure we were taken care of and getting what we needed. The atmosphere was also a plus for us because we have a 1 year old baby and there was enough room where we weren't too cramped or crowded in, and it wasn't too loud or overstimulating. The place was very clean and taken care of as well as the bathrooms. All in all, I loved this place and I will be coming back. I would definitely recommend Monello for a nice little date night, and don't forget the tiramisu.

It's right in the heart of Little Italy on India Street in between all of the other wonderful Italian restaurants. When we walked up. They have patio seating as well as inside dining. We decided to do inside dining as it was starting to get chilly outside. We were immediately seated by a wonderful hostess, and that made a positive impression upon us. The whole hostess staff had great smiles on their faces and they were very welcoming. After about two minutes of sitting down, our server came to ask us if we needed time to look over the menu. We said yes but that we wanted a Foccacia Bread table starter. She smiled and immediately went to put the order in. A few few minutes later she came back and we ordered our drinks for dinner: Raspberry Italian Soda, Orange Crush with Fresh Cream on top, and a non-alcoholic spritz. After we got our drinks and sip on them, it took us a bit of time to decide what we wanted. We all know that the burger here is fantastic! However, this evening, we decided to try new things. We ordered: Pappardelle Bolognese with Added Meatballs, Pappardelle Bolognese as it is normally prepared, and a Caesar salad with shrimp added. Our food was out within about 10 to 15 minutes and everything was prepared perfectly. I have to say that we really enjoyed dining in this location and we may need to come back here more instead of traveling to the Del Mar location sometimes. Our server was super customer service oriented and we appreciated her. She went above and beyond to get the orange crush drink to be unique like an Italian soda for my daughter. We were super stuffed and could not do dessert, but we did promise to come back to enjoy the lava cake at a future time.
