First time eating at Saucehouse. Generally not a big fan of going through a line to order, but here was a little different. Enjoyed watching my lunch come together with a lot of choices. I had the pulled pork and a baked potato. They take a potato, split it, pour melted butter, and then add melted cheese. A great base for a baked potato. Added sliced cheddar cheese, diced onions, jalapeños, and sour cream. Really good. The pork was good and an ample choice of sauces. My wife had the pulled pork nachos and my son had the pulled pork tacos. He had mac and cheese which said was tasty. Overall a good meal experience. Coming through town my husband wanted somewhere with ribs. There were a few choices, but we randomly chose Saucehouse. The outdoor area had a good vibe and the staff members we encountered were so helpful and friendly. The food was just okay. The ribs were very tough and the brisket was just okay, not life changing. The fries tasted good but weren't hot. The fried okra was probably my favorite item, and the sweet tea was great. We got free dessert for being first timers, but, since we don't live here probably won't be back. There are better options for a $65 meal for three. read more

We stopped here on a busy Saturday. Reminds me of Chipotle but serving BBQ. You step in order your meat, how you want it served, and finally your sides and "toppings." My dining companions both ordered chicken - one on sliced bread, the other topping a salad. I did the brisket on the two Hawaiian rolls. Chicken has good flavor and is clearly a favorite. Brisket was good but quite salty. I couldn't even finish and brought it home and my BBQ Pitmaster confirmed it was too salty/seasoned. The sauces are quite varietal - and tasty. Service was Excellent. Atmosphere inside is fast food forward but the outdoor bar and beer garden are by far primo. Tucked away and there are specials going on in the bar area on food. Check it out before heading inside. You might save a few dollars and spend on upgrading to a brew instead. I'm not usually a big BBQ person but I do appreciate BBQ once in a (long) while. My workplace ordered some dishes for a work lunch and although we were in the area, Saucehouse wasn't able to deliver to us because they require a minimum of a 25-person party in order to deliver so my supervisor had to go pick it up. We ordered a variety of dishes (pulled pork, beef brisket, ribs, Brunswick stew, mac n' cheese, baked beans, green bean casserole, potato salad, slaw, peach cobbler) and we also had an assortment of sauces (house, sweet molasses, pork, very hot & sweet, Alabama White/horseradish) but I only tried a few. The beef brisket was on point. It wasn't overly shredded but the pieces weren't in big chunks either; it was just the right size for eating and enjoying. The pulled pork was a little dry but it was more enjoyable when paired with a sauce. You really can't go wrong with green bean casseroles, which I did enjoy, and the mac n' cheese looked baked, which I didn't mind but it was a little dry. The ribs were alright; I can honestly say that my friend makes better ribs but maybe it's a personal preference kind of thing because I like my ribs to be able to fall off the bone. The very hot & sweet was the only sauce I tried but I really liked it. I couldn't taste anything sweet but there was a tartness to it, and the spice gradually built up as you continued to eat it. I definitely recommend it to all you spicy-lovers out there. My coworkers enjoyed Saucehouse; they like it better than Fox Bros in Atlanta. I liked the beef brisket the best out of everything we ordered. Would I recommend Saucehouse? I don't know, but I would recommend trying it out despite my review because who knows? Lots of options to choose from in terms of meats, types of meal (Nachos vs sandwich, etc) and sauces to top it off. The pulled pork meat was delish with the house sauce! I tried the molasses and the hot and spicy sauces and liked both of those, but went with the house sauce for my sandwich. The Mac and cheese and salad I had were good. I was impressed that you get to customize your salad with toppings instead of just getting a standard house salad. But who comes to a BBQ joint for a salad? If you're ordering a plate and choose the bun option, I'd recommend double meat. My sandwich was ok, but nothing great. One, the bun was a standard hamburger bun that you can buy at any grocery store. Two, it was cold. Three, there were bites I took where the bun to meat ratio was way lower than it should be and you really shouldn't have to "upgrade" to a more meat option to have a decent bun/meat/bun experience. The space itself is casual, you order at the counter and add your sauces after you pay. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. There was live music the night I went, and four nights per week so that makes it fun. They do to go orders and you can pick up from a separate door in the back near the parking lot. Came here with family and friends after my cousins UGA Women's Basketball game. This was a little different for e. Even though I didn't eat a normal entrée everyone there enjoyed the pulled pork, brisket, and smoked chicken. It almost reminded me of going through the cafeteria line in Middle/High School. Since I was already full from all of the free chicken tenders after the games banquet on campus I didn't have room for anything else other than some homemade bread pudding and vanilla ice cream. It was a small bowl that fit in the size of your hand and they just piled the bread pudding into the bowl like a small mountain and the give you one of those pre packaged ice cream cups. The Bread pudding was Grrrreatttt....I hat to say it but it was "ALMOST" better than my moms bread pudding. It was sooo good... It prepared me for a nap for the 1 hr ride back to ATL. I had some family that also tried the peach cobbler and they all said it was good. My family on my moms side all come from GA and they all know how to cook...So homemade desserts and food cooked from scratch doesn't impress me. But this dessert really did.... Great job. read more

They have the bar and restaurant separate which is nice for us since we had our kiddos with us. It was a "meat and three" style bbq place. You picked the type of meat, how you wanted it "stuffed" (baked potato, buns, nachos, etc.) then you get two sides. For our family of three it was $24. Worth every penny.
