A great spot, close to the marina.

Great time at Saucy today (Labor Day). They have a big menu, but the pizzas were buy one, get one, so we did! The lovely couple sitting next to us at the bar suggested the "Bees Knees" and we were not disappointed! The fungus amongus pizza was also delightful. We enjoyed the Juicy ASAP and the What's His Nuts beer. We didn't try any others.

Let me preface by saying that it was a last minute decision to come here since the original place we had picked out was closed. For a last minute audible, it was okay but certainly not a place we'd be itching to come back to. They were almost completely empty at 6pm when we arrived. The place seemed so disorganized- things were on the beer and kid's menu that they didn't have. The adults received their food first and the kid's food came about 10 minutes after. The ambience was nice- they had tables outside and a sitting area, bar, and other tables inside. You could see the lake from where we were sitting. Our server (I didn't get her name) was super sweet. Food wise, my husband and I split the salmon BLT and the Parmesan wings. The sandwich was good but certainly lacking on the toppings. The fries were the star of the show. The wings were okay- they were crispy which I love, but barely had sauce/flavor. My mother-in-law also got the wings and hers were drenched in the sauce so it was probably just a slip up on ours. Our daughter enjoyed her grilled cheese and our niece seemed to like the Mac and cheese- but be aware because it's not "yellow" Mac and cheese (parents- you know what I'm talking about). In all, I couldn't imagine any of us choosing to come back here for any reason.

    Busy one tonight...

So. Saucy. I had so much hope for you. I went three times before writing this to try to get a true sounding, but the depths still elude. I should start out by saying noisy bar environments filled with high top tables exclusively is not my bag. Saucy offers several types of experiences aside from the shouty bud-light bunch. I was on the patio for one excursion and in the upstairs dining room for the other two. Service was reasonable except for my request for water without ice being promptly ignored on all 3 visits. Lets talk about the pizza. I am admittedly a pizza snob in my old age. Saucy touts their wood fired pizza as something special, trust me, it is not. I had visions of a Napali style pie right here in my back yard... and it disappointed on all of that standard completely, with one exception. The crust has potential, but so do quickee-mart attendants. While glutenous, it lacks a good edge to hold and it's finished consistency is less like Naan and more like cardboard. The toppings seem fresh and totally harmless. This is a big diameter pepperoni place and that usually means lame flavor, but ther is a hint of pepper but no edge char. The cheese is a reasonable portion of basic, flavorless, whiteness saved by the sprinkles of Gooby-dust on the top. The best thing about the pie is the sauce. Which they very trendily give you very very little of. Honestly if this had a chain style volume of sauce I probably would have overlooked the rest. But, and I am not exaggerating at all, the tablespoon of sauce spread on the pie simply isn't enough. The first one I had was hot and exactly as described above. The second one was as described above and delivered room-temperature. After requesting a second lap for a reheat it was at least hot. Also, the crust had a crunchier consistency, which was to be expected, and was better, or at least different. Enough about the pizza. Let's talk about the Saucy Burger and some sides. On trip 3 I figured that I had sussed the pizza pretty well, so I ordered the burger and fries. The burger was presented well with shoestring fries and a plastic ramekin of catsup. Here endeth the joy. I do like blackened proteins. Tossed onto a particularly hot surface briefly to char slightly the exterior. It adds a differentiating flavor and a smidgen of crunch. My burger was blackened by being tossed onto a particularly hot surface and then left there. The black edge "crust" was fully 1/2" of the diameter of the patty. Don't get me wrong, in today's litigious world, well-done is the burger safety standard. This was effectively burnt. The toppings were overall good with the 1000 island dressing doing its best to revive the patty from its trip to the river Styx. The bun was actually VERY good. I can think of several uses for it that don't involve Saucy Brewworks at all. The biggest issue was that the patty was over done and the cheese added after being bunned. There wasn't enough heat in the patty to melt the cheese. Burnt, then rested till cool then assembled. I took one of the two slices off. One slice of cold cheese is enough. (it was refrigerator cold!). The fries were amazingly perfectly prepared. Several plates of them would have been a better meal than the burger of doom. Enough about the burger plate. Lets talk apps. I ordered the mac n cheese with one of my pizzas and it was the star of that meal. Not only did it give me something to do while my pizza was getting the re-heat, but it was hot and tasty! I have had scant few mac n cheese that were better outside of my own kitchen. I splashed a dab of pepper from the shaker and it was just right. Prior to the burger of doom, I ordered the Korean ribs. It arrived in a bowl with rice and what seemd to be kimchee, but wasn't. The ribs were sliced exceptionally thin, but were very very good. Properly grilled and seasoned and sauced it was a delight for the taste buds. The best thing to pass my lips from Saucy ever. The rice was harmless with boil-in-bag consistency and neutral flavors, which is fine as a starch against the excellent ribs. No awards, no grumps, just filler. The "spicy" vegetable heap was just that, minus the spicy component. Seriously, it is 2022 and I can get authentic Korean kimchee to my door next day. Gallons of it if I so desire. These folks are definitely "saving on food costs". To the uninitiated this wad of soft cabbages and onion bathing in Frank's probably seems exotic. Let me assure you that if this dish had the real deal I would likely have given 4 stars. The rib flavors would have mixed with the kimchee and that would have been EPIC. I would have forgotten about the cardboard pizza and Satan's burger of doom. So, you should probably give Saucy a try. Get the Korean ribs and some mac n cheese. Maybe sneak a little good kimchee with you... Your mileage may vary.

Food came out promptly despite it being late on a Friday night. Highly recommend the Brussels sprouts appetizer (not pictured unfortunately) as they definitely do them differently than most places and they were great. Burgers were fresh and delicious. If you have a question about what food might pair well with what beer, they are there for you with solid recommendations. Clearly, they have been trained through this process and educated as food and beverage choices. We were there with another couple and ultimately ordered three different appetizers. We were received fried steaks, cheese, curds, and fried green tomatoes topped with homemade pimento cheese and crab meat. Every one of these was absolutely delicious, enjoyed in the back of the business where the bar is located and the ambience is just bright enough to allow you to enjoy everything. For dinner I received the recommendation of the burger of the week, the Monte Cristo. Imaginary burger with French toast as a bun, a perfectly cooked burger, an amazing piece of ham, some wonderful Swiss cheese and topped with a dusting of powdered sugar and drizzled and homemade maple syrup. It came with sides of a raspberry compote and sour cream. It might not sound delicious, but I have to tell you every bite was a taste treat many many layers of deliciousness. All in all I would have to give this restaurant an extra extraordinary rating and tell you to give it a try if you haven't you will not be disappointed.

The sandwich was outstanding and packed with ham, turkey, pepperoni, pepper jack cheese, and a sun-dried tomato walnut pesto. I honestly thought my 11-year-old might be skeptical of the green pesto, but he ended up loving it too. My husband and older son both ordered the Brewer Burger; one with chips and one with fries and everyone really enjoyed their meals. My husband also tried two beers, the Millennial Haze and Swirl of Particulates (pictured), and gave both a thumbs up. The setup is casual and easygoing: you seat yourself, order drinks at the bar, and food at a separate counter. It was a gorgeous night, so the open-air atmosphere and outdoor seating made it even better. Definitely a spot we'll be back to!

They give you a pager for the food and you pick it up at a window. They have a full bar in the event you are not a beer drinker. The staff is friendly and helpful. The brewery is so popular it is often hard to find a spot to park. Their lot is usually full and we have to park around back and walk. When we were there one person parked his SUV on the grass between tables and the patio. Staff made an announcement that he had to move. In addition there were so many small children running around. One boy was climbing on the railing and my seat. His parents were not watching him. It happened multiple times. Sibling Revelry advertises a family friendly environment, but some parents are not watching their children. I would definitely choose another brewery with a more laid back feel and less commotion.
