Traffic Jam in the jelly aisle!
    Lois R.

Saunders is a big grocery store run by the menonites. There's lots of meats, fresh produce, baked goods, freshly ground peanut butter, a cheese counter with ample samples, and plenty of baking supplies. Specialties would be their jams and pickles- I have fun just looking at the names of them. Their candy selection is also good, especially if you like gummy candies. I can also find some unique sodas such as white birch beer, sassafras soda, and cheerwine to name a few. There is a little gift shop/religious books section near the front, which can be nice to browse through. Saunders sells outdoor furniture and decor, and there is a furniture store proper attached. I've been especially tempted by their swiveling and gliding rocking chairs. I've had some good food at the cafe, the Reuben in particular being super tasty. You do have to enter the cafe through the store and park your cart before you go into the cafe. You order at the counter and then the staff gives you a number and will bring you your meal. Car parking is ample here but there are speed bumps, so watch it! I haven't noticed any bike racks, so cyclists likely need to get creative. The store is closed on Sundays and can be busy with campers during the summer months.

I was meeting a friend for lunch and she suggested this spot. What a great place! This is a Mennonite grocery store that has a cafe inside. The food is basic but tasty and incredibly cheap! I got a grilled cheese that was absolutely oozing (a little greasy, but yummy) and soup, as well as cheese fries. I love cheese fries! The cafe is clean and there are a good amount of tables. The furniture is plain but there are windows and a cozy little fireplace. The store is massive - I've heard it started small and then expanded. It has an extensive grocery stocked with local goods. I got pickled okra and smoked gouda pretzels to bring home and everything was delicious. There are also random general supply stores and knick knacks. Very cool place, and one of the only spots in Seneca Falls that's open during lunch time as far as I can tell.

Sauders is LOVELY. My mother visited for the first time recently and told me later that same day that she wanted me to go back with her so I could check it out too. I didn't realize how large the place would be, let alone what a delightful selection of produce, meats, bakery items, jarred jams/jellies, or pickled items would be available. It's definitely one of those locations where you wander around to find unique selections, but you can also get great quality basics like prepared pizzas, salads, and so on. One of the things my mother wanted to grab during this most recent trip was one of the cherry pies from the bakery area... and while she got a large cherry pie, I picked up one of their mini-strawberry/rhubarb pies. So cute! On top of that, there's a nice little café where you can grab a bite to eat during your shopping experience. They also have a very nice selection of beautiful plants for sale outside, and even have items like gazebos for sale outside / in the back of the building. Of course, there's a Mennonite/Amish feel to the store, and spaces like the book nook area contain puzzles, books, and gifts that are more religiously-focused. Even if that's not necessarily your thing, it doesn't take over the environment of the store. If anything, there's honestly just a strong sense of pride in what's available at the store - and the workers clearly take pride in providing a lovely experience. TL;DR While it's a bit far away to be a regular grocery stop, Sauders is a fun experience - and provides some great offerings. Would be fun to check out during different seasons.

Located in Seneca Falls is this unique country store. Great selection of fresh produce, meats, baked goods, deli and cheese shop. There is also a cafe where you can purchase sandwiches, hot entrees, soups, ice cream and fountain drinks. In the summer time there are flower baskets and Amish made planters. Service is fast and friendly. Very clean and neat

My husband called it "Amish Costco". Never didn't think I'd enjoy walking through a supermarket on vacation! The cafe was packed and for good reason, good coffee, good sandwiches, and friendly service. All the other departments had interesting food for sale and the people working here are helpful and friendly. There was even a relatively affordable souvenir area. If I'm back in the area, I will definitely come back with a better plan than I had on this visit, walking around aimlessly for two hours. If you're traveling, make sure to bring a cooler bag to bring home all of the smoked meats and cheeses.

Fantastic food and prices! Clean environment with food and groceries organized very well with a good variety. The cafeteria area has delicious subs and drinks, but I highly recommend the pretzel with cheese. WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!! Service was a little slow but that was because so many people had ordered food. Yes, it's that good! I love going there!

I had not been to Sauders since before Covid and they have really expanded since my last visit. Tons of interesting, packaged foods and fresh produce. I found the prices to be excessively high hence the three star rating we did not purchase anything so I can't comment on friendliness or helpfulness of staff. Decent selection, but be warned of high prices.

The mums were beautiful! They were a great price for big, full pots.... with a nice selection of both flowers blooming and many pots with buds starting to open. An amazing variety of colors. Pumpkins, gourds, squash, decorations and everything you want for fall. They have an enormous meat section with cold cuts, cheeses and butchered meats. They have smoked pork chops and house made sausage in many varieties. Too many choices to list. I bought dried green lentils and smoked pork hocks to make a tasty soup. I got their jarred sauerkraut and pickled eggs. Their lunch sandwiches are delicious and loaded with fillings! I had roast beef and provolone and my friend had a BLT. They come with chips and pickles.my macaroni salad was very good, a little on the sweet side. My friend's potato salad had nice small cut pieces of potatoes, cooked well and a nice taste of dill in the dressing.

The produce is expensive and much lower quality than what you get at Wegmans for the same expensive price. The store in general doesn't feel nice to be in. My biggest issue, though, is that most of the employees seem unhappy most of the time. Seven out of 10 times I have an unfriendly checkout experience. Three out of 10 cashiers are definitely friendly and nice to work with, but this is a bad ratio. I've been around long enough to know that this is almost never the fault of employees, this comes from management. Unhappy employees are unfriendly to customers. And unhappy employees are usually unhappy for a reason. I also shop at nearby, Aldi and Sauders - great value, great quality, and you've never had such friendly service - in both places. I love shopping at both of those places. I only come to Tops because they carry certain namebrand things, like cereal that I can't get at the other places. Tops: I would rather enjoy spending my money at your store. I deeply do not enjoy it right now. I may start driving a half an hour to Wegmans just to avoid shopping with you. I invite you to step your game up.
