WOW, I seriously want to give this place a 5, but I can't. Here's why..... I've heard my dear friend Anna tell me this place has "THE BEST ZUCCHINI BARS". Well, on our way to dinner I said, let's go! I need to try these bars as a pre-dinner dessert! She warned me that it was a Friday night and the best baked items usually sell out by early afternoon. Well, she was right. I mean, come on.... if you've got some top sellers, can you start making more and keep them in stock?? I asked the sweet Amish gals behind the deli counter if they had any more in the back. It took 3 of them to look in the computer and tell me there were none. So disappointed........ Anyhow... the reason I wanted to give this place 5 stars is because its fantastic. Its soo clean and organized. The prices on their bulk spices and candy/snacks are soo inexpensive. Check it out and stock up... Also, lots of fresh seasonal veggies. Homemade pies, jams, pb and more! They say Sauders is a unique country store and that's true but it's so much more. First off you can't miss or drive by this place, big store with lot's of parking. Right as I walked up to the door I was greeted with all different sized pumpkins, gourds, corn stalks and any other autumn decorations you would want. I really like these cool looking green and white striped ones, lots of colorful combinations you could make. Once inside, the first thing I noticed was the cafe with a small seating area. Coffee smelled so good, $1.29 12oz and $1.59 for a 16oz. They have this great sign...never enough coffee... so very true! I could tell that their bakery section is a customer favorite. Their were lots of people picking up fresh bread and pies all while still asking about a certain flavor that was all out on the shelf. Each question was answered with a smile and a polite I would be happy to look in the back but I think we are all out. ***tip here, go early in the morning if you want something particular. Such as grape pies, zucchini bars, pecan and dutch apple pies. These were a few of the items I overheard people asking for. They have a large sections of homemade canned jams and jelly's that I found very interesting. So many unusual flavors and combinations to me... like blueberry peach, strawberry peach and apple raspberry. I spend some time in the coffee isle, so many different types and flavors. I wish they had a small sampling section here. It was tough trying to figure out what you would like. Produce section was well stocked with lots of fresh items, everything is so well displayed and organized. Prices were either a great deal or to high. The same with the spice isle, but boy did they smell good. I like that you can see the entire container of spices so you know exactly what you are getting. The candy and snack isles were another customer favorite. So many options here and the prices were really good to. I really liked how they had a lot of smaller portion sized containers. You can definitely stock up for your sweet tooth. I would like to see more pecan options. Very cool watching them make homemade peanut butter right in the store. Great googly moogly... wish I lived closer to Sauders. Hepped to this joint by a blue route fanaticist, my former co-worker Marcia K. who only drives on blue routes... no two lane roads for her (makes her nervous). Stunning array of jams, jellies, grocery items not seen elsewhere. GREAT deli if you're hankering for a fresh sub. Tremendous selection of baked goods... the lemon bars here are a must buy. Decent prices and good selection, if you don't mind lax health/safety standards. I am a longtime customer at Sauder's and have always loved it. But my opinion has changed drastically since the start of the Covid pandemic. Along with my own observations of their absurd approaches to "masking" (lace face coverings or tiny plastic shields in front of their lips), Sauder's was also written up for multiple health/safety violations by the Dept. of Health. Now, I know a lot of "rebels" out there don't care about masks or even their own (and others') health. But if a food provider is blatantly cutting corners when it comes to health and safety, then there's good reason to worry about what's going on behind the scenes, too. In short, be aware that you might be risking your and your family's health by shopping here, whether during the pandemic or after. Personally, I'll be double-masking in the store, and I won't be buying any prepared foods, only produce and bulk items that I will wash and cook myself. Low prices are great and all, but they often come at a cost. In a profit-driven society, our principles and decisions as consumers can make a difference. read more

Okay, so I came and saw what the fuss is about. Large aisles with plenty of items, ranging from spices to mixes to candy, nuts, cereals and more. A bakery, meat market, produce and cheese place. In the end, I did buy some cheese and macaroni (for dinner that night). It is a supermarket, designed for people who cook and can and enjoy Amish baked goods. I bought an Apple pie, too, but the filling seemed to have come from a jar. It was mushy. Meh. read more

What's not to love! The cafe/deli is absolutely delicious. It really doesn't matter what you order here, you know it's going to be fresh and tasty. I love their daily soups. I highly recommend the regular sub, where you pick all the ingredients just like in Subway but 100 times better. I also tried their pizza slice - which was probably my least favorite, but I didn't care much for the crust. The toppings were delicious Their hot dogs are yummy as well. On a hot day, try their hard or soft serve ice cream and for a small upcharge they will serve it with a slice of pie as well. The grocery is incredible as well - especially the fresh produce, the meat section, the dairy and the cheese section. They also have everything you ever dreamed of canned, pickled or in a jam or jelly form. If you planning a picnic, this place has a freshly pre-made cold salads, fruit salads, bread and the variety of sodas and other dry products is unreal. Excellent place to go for reasonable prices on items you use a lot (semolina flour, yeast, spices, pectin, canning wax, etc). Only weird thing is there is no bratwurst. In fact no German sausages at all. I mean these folks are of German parentage, yes? I asked the girl behind the counter for bratwurst. She looked at me like I had two heads. I tried again with my high school German taught by a Austrian: "Hast du eine Bratwurst?" heavy on the "braaht-voorsht". She called the head butcher with my question. His reply "What is that?" So they have Italian sausage for days...but not a single one of the 1500 types of German sausage. Weird. read more

Sauders Store is an genuine Mennonite country store that is packed with fresh produce, bulk packaged goods, Pennsylvania German meats and cheeses along with specialty products for the Mennonite community. The baking and spice sections of the store are extensive and inexpensive from a spectrum of sanding sugars, bags of dried cherries, apricots and mangos, to gummy candy anythings (fried eggs and chicken feet notwithstanding) to cookies to make ice cream sandwiches with . Their deli is not to be missed. Lots of John Martin cold cuts and smoked pork chops and ham hocks (for soups) not to mention local sausages from Hoffmanns. And the prices are unbeatable (really). Quality, excellence, great prices and friendly people gives Sauders a top ranking from me. I know that regular pilgrimages to Seneca Falls and Sauders will be filling my spring. read more

Phenomenal store. We have nothing like it in my Area, that's for sure! Tip: Don't put jams or peanut butter in carry on luggage if flying! TSA confiscated my peanut butter- said spreads aren't allowed on carry on. Thank God I packed the jam in suitcase that was checked in. They said I can call and order and they will ship so I may try that. Only thing missing is online ordering. Maybe someday.... Loved this place! This place is a nice alternative to the big chain stores. They don't carry as much of a variety as the chain stores but you can still find what you need. There is a nice selection of canned items. Jellies, jams, pickled veggies. The deli is huge. There is even a place to get subs/sandwiches. Right next to it you can get fine made Amish furniture. read more

If you are looking for snack foods and things to spread on them, both in nearly infinite varieties, this is definitely the mothership calling you home. The place is also made for people running a catering business and as well as those like looking to keep the local birds fed all year long. The Amish staff are quiet but friendly as you would expect. It was actually the other customers who made the experience less enjoyable by rushing through the store without much regard for anyone else. It has a big variety of jarred and canned goods as well as a plethora of bakery items and fresh meats and produce. There's even an area of Household decorations and Knick Knacks. It fairly easy to maneuver. We went on an early Fall day and the pumpkins and mums were beautiful. read more

I am a disabled Veteran, 76 years old with many health problems. I stopped into Sauders with my service dog. i went to the cafe for a sub and drink. I was going to sit for a while and rest while I ate lunch. My small service dog was contained in a dog stroller with a "lid" with netting for vision and air flow especially designed for dogs. After I paid for my meal I was told I had to leave. Dogs were not allowed in the store. I told them there are no tables or any area to eat outside. I was still coldly turned away. Amish and Mennonite people refuse to serve our country - they will not serve or contribute to the military. This vast group of people live here safely yet won't serve and protect. But at least they could respect those brave Americans who have, especially those that are war veterans. read more

Love Sauders! Had been wanting to get here for a few years- especially after hearing reviews from many of my friends. Stopped in the morning on the way through town and was not disappointed to say the least. Much larger inside than I had anticipated. Very spacious- great selection- and helpful workers around every corner. Many locally grown and produced items. Many samples of mustards and dips to try. Prices seemed pretty good and the meats that we bought were delicious. They also have a huge deli counter and a sit down area for eating. This is an excellent Mennonite grocery store. But be warned, on the weekends it gets busy and you will have a hard time navigating your little cart through the little aisles. I have been going to Sauders for 20 plus years- well before their recent expansion- which is impressive. It is a Mennonite run store with all sorts of great items. I particularly go to Sauders for the bulk spices. Every imaginable spice is available in a plastic container in small, reasonably priced quantities. Bulk candy! Where do I begin? Probably with the bag of spearmint leaves or perhaps the sour gummies. Maybe the chocolate covered peanuts or licorice. Let's just say they have plenty of bulk candy for everyone. I've been trying to stop here for months, I would always pass by on a Sunday on my way to church and they aren't open on Sunday so I finally made a special trip to the store today and I was not disappointed. This place is such a treat! We were in the area visiting some spots in our church's history and I had put Sauders on our "nice to see" lost. At our last stop of the day one of the guides asked me, "have you been to Sauders get? You have to go!" So we did and I am so glad! The selection of bottled/preserved goods is enough to blow your mind. Then add the biggest assortment of sprinkles, pie fillings, and flavoring extracts I have ever seen . . . so much entertainment! My friend told me about their amazing dip mixes and I picked up a bunch to bring home to friends. The homemade peanut butter and bread made for delicious snacks during our road trip. I was told by a co-worker to go try this place out and its very interesting, They have a large selection on unique things like dried fruit, spices, flour and dried powder soup which I think is interesting.
