I'm always in search of newer and better indoor playground. Royal Magic Castle has got to rank in…read morethe current top 2 or 3. Huge modern play area, sand room, laser tag and arcade room including claw machines. The admission price is a bit pricey compared to others, open play costs $42.99 + tax for kids 3 feet and taller and 1 adult. Additional adults cost $18.99 each. It does include unlimited time as others are usually 2 hours max and it includes laser tag. Place is very large, has drinks and a small gift shop (toys, gifts etc). Place is modern and clean for now... until the next new indoor playground ground opens up.

Extremely disappointing experience for my child's birthday party…read more I rarely write reviews, but I feel it's important to share this experience so other families know what to expect. We booked our child's birthday party here and it turned out to be one of the most frustrating experiences we've had. From the start, communication and customer service were poor. When we booked, we were told that to receive their 20% discount, the deposit had to be paid by cash or Zelle -- no credit cards accepted. We ended up sending a $300 deposit via Zelle. On the day of the party, we were unexpectedly told to pay the entire $944 up front, even though we had already paid a deposit. The staff said they would "refund" the deposit afterward, which was never clearly explained before. This caused unnecessary stress during setup since we had to gather additional cash right before guests arrived. During the event, there were several issues: We weren't asked to sign waivers until after the kids started playing, which interrupted the start of the party. The laser tag (included in our booking) wasn't ready -- the staff said the equipment was still charging. The staff's attitude was dismissive and unhelpful throughout. After the party ended, we stayed about 30 minutes to clean up the room -- something most places understand is part of the process. The next day, when we asked for our $300 deposit refund, we were told it was being withheld because we "stayed 50 minutes longer." That's unreasonable. We were cleaning up, not extending the party, and the children had mostly left. To make things worse, when we tried to discuss this issue, the staff was rude and unprofessional. The facility itself wasn't well maintained -- we even found garbage in the ball pit. Between the lack of communication, poor management, and the unfair way they handled the deposit, I cannot recommend this business to anyone. There are so many better options that actually value their customers. Spend your money elsewhere -- you'll get better service and less stress.

I feel like I'm the only person on Yelp doing this, but I hope someone out there finds it helpful…read more I often have to play 1-on-3 zone defense on my kids when I take them out, so I check out each playground I go to for certain criteria: Number of Exits: I prefer one - way easier to keep a kid from wandering off. Oakland Gardens has three, and two of which are relatively close to the streets. If you have any fleet-footed toddlers in your care, this might not be the best option for you. Population Density: I like less crowded playgrounds, because it is easier to spot your own kids amongst all the other kids present. Oakland Gardens, in all the times I have been there, has been nearly empty. Honestly, I'd like to see a few more kids so that my kids could have a chance to interact and play with different people, but I'll take too few over too many any day of the week. Play Options: Oakland Gardens has plenty. Swings, three different sets of bars and slides in the main area, and a fourth tucked away behind the basketball courts in a separate fenced-in section. The courts feature two full courts with standard height rims, and a third full court with rims at roughly 6-7 feet high (great for younger kids). They have a handball court and another wide, empty area past the basketball courts. Also, the main area has a water sprinkler. The park is designed for kids 5-12 but my 3yo loved it. Just make sure to supervise the young ones and watch those exits! Overall Safety: Very low creep factor, but relatively high running-into-traffic danger. This usually isn't a problem for older kids, but anyone under the age of 5-6 you need to watch very carefully. Just don't glue your face to your cell phone if you bring your kids here.

It's a beautiful day to be surrounded by nature…read more My parent's house in Oakland Gardens is close to Alley pond park, so I am able to walk the trails anytime I want. There are no sharp inclines or steep, rocky hills. I like to walk these trails to admire nature and all it's worth. The lake that I came across while walking today made me want to jump in and swim(not sure if that's allowed). Aside from the trails, there are other little playgrounds in the area that might appeal to children.

I have always enjoyed coming to this park due to its natural scenery, trails, and amenities. I…read moreappreciated its suitability for various activities like walking, jogging, biking, and birdwatching, along with sports facilities like tennis and baseball fields, as well as its family-friendly features such as playgrounds, fields, and picnic areas. Thumbs up to their Environmental Center which is very helpful in providing educational programs. I like the availability of car parking and multiple entrances, though some trails are better than others. The best part that I enjoy in this park is it marks the start/end of the Vanderbilt Motor Parkway trail path, it is historic, a scenic trail for walking, running, and biking, a beautiful, green space that offers a break from the city, and the paved path connects it to other parks. The trail path extends about 3 miles which makes it a 6 miles trekking distance out and back. In most weekend mornings, there is a great chance that you might see me walking/biking on this trail, so, see you there.
