I wish I could give this place zero stars. I called around 4:06 PM to ask about a simple alteration on a synthetic fur coat, and the woman told me to come in before their 4:30 closing time so she could take a look. I rushed over and arrived well before closing. The moment I started explaining the minor sleeve adjustment, she abruptly cut me off, snapped that she couldn't do it, and walked away mid-conversation to continue working--without a shred of courtesy or professionalism. I was so shocked with such dismissive and disrespectful behavior. The lack of basic courtesy and professionalism toward a potential new customer was extremely disappointing. First time customer. I dropped off a shirt and jeans on a Monday. Came by to pick them up on a Friday and the shirt had lots of lint on it. Surely isn't 5 days sufficient to do a great job? The guy there gave me a lint roller to remove the lint lol. Not coming back here! Very poor first time experience! read more

I have experienced good customer service here. Sure, sometimes I've waited a few minutes for a call to wrap up, but seriously life is not so urgent (for me at least) that I can't manage a few minutes of waiting while a clerk is on a call. Today there was a mix up with my clothing and my husband said the items were not there when he went. I called and asked about the mixup and they brought the overlooked items to me because they are closed on Sunday and I am flying out Monday early a.m. That gesture was so above and beyond what I Norma experience in retail and service that I was inspired to write them a review. What's everyone's beef with this place? I think people just enjoy complaining about dry cleaners and their commutes. The guy who runs it has a cute little dog behind the counter, and the ladies who help him are all very sweet and professional. They have a speedy wash and fold operation and have hemmed some pants for me that turned out great. Prices are good for the area. read more

i feel there is no customer service. After waiting for 15 minutes for the owner to finish her phone call, she then turned off the lights and told me she the shop was closed, she had to go home. Had she shared that with me when she saw me walk in, I wouldn't have wasted her time or mine, Shame on me for going back there. a few years back I brought them 6 coats to be dry cleaned, which were written up, and then dumped on the floor (until I picked them up and put them back in my car). I can't believe this place, I tried them four separate times each time was overcharged substantially. I bring in 10 shirts say I want to have laundry only. Wash them press them hang them up. Pretty basic instructions. I came to pick up my shirts and they charged me $11 for special handling flannel shirts. Mind you these are regular basic cotton shirts. Then the next time, short sleeve shirts cost extra. It was an extra two dollar handling charge for them. After a long conversation with the owner and listening to him explain to me how I don't know dry cleaning. And he is right. We came to an understanding that they were only going to launder my shirts for the set price. Yesterday I took 22 shirts in to be laundered Then the woman says, Oh no dark colors are extra. I threw up my hands and took my shirt and walked out. To the locals who live in Sausalito area. I would highly recommend checking your receipt each time you drop your shirts off and pick them up. read more

Very poor experience, my recommendation is to avoid Sausalito Bright Dry Cleaners. I dropped off a few dress shirts and two suits for dry cleaning. One shirt came back with the colors bled on the collar (blue and white plaid). One par of suit pants were ruined and could not be repaired. When I went in and showed the gentleman at the front desk, he said I was patronizing him by asking for a refund on the cleaning fee...not to replace the article of clothing, just a refund on the services that resulted in ruining an article of clothing. To their credit, they re-cleaned the shirt and fixed the coloring issue. However, I recommend avoiding this establishment at all cost. read more

The staff are so kind, and they clean things in a timely manner and my clothes always look awesome and smell great after going to them. They even brought one of my favourite white dresses that got a stain on it back to life which is awesome! This place is terrible. I moved to Marin and needed a place for alterations. The first dress she did was okay. My second experience, put the nail in the coffin. I needed my bridesmaid dress and my daughters' flower girl dresses altered. With every request she kept doubting me and suggesting something else. After much arguing, she agreed to do what I asked. The only thing done properly was the hems. The tops of the dresses all didn't fit, so I was up all night sewing these dresses that I paid about $200 for! What exactly did I pay for again? From now on I will just go to my original person in SF on Noriega, who gives me a fair price, the best service, and quick turnaround...even if it means I pay $$ for toll. read more

I have been going to Sausalito Bright cleaners for many years now. I think they provide fine services at a fair price. The owners work very hard, but they always find a moment to chat about who won the game, how our beloved pets are, or how things are going in our wonderful city. Their employees have always been nothing but friendly and courteous to me. Their work has always been completed on schedule. It's amazing when they hand me some of the cool forgotten things they've found in my pockets. I just brought them my absolute favorite shirt in the whole wide world and asked them to turn the collar for me. It looks like new! Great work! I'm so happy! Stay away from this place. They destroyed my silk blouse. I understand accidents happen, but the customer service was atrocious. I received a phone call from the owner telling me that "because it was a windy day" my blouse fell into a bucket of cleaner and was covered with large purple spots. So... He offered to reimburse me for it. I had the blouse for a few months and it was no longer available where I bought it originally, but I found it online from another merchant. He advised me to come in and I'd get a refund. I arrived at the shop and my blouse was hanging right there in the front of the store ruined, I told the cashier that was my blouse. And, she said she was expecting me. I took out my phone to show her where I could purchase a replacement and confirm the price, and she began screaming at me "No receipt, no money for you!!!" It was pretty awful and another customer was there watching this. She told me the gentleman who called me was not there, well yelled that at me, too. I left and 5 minutes later got a call from the guy apologizing. He must have been nearby as he heard the whole thing. After 3 more phone calls I received my refund. As far as I'm concerned this place should be shut down. Happily I have since found a nice eco cleaner in Mill Valley on Blithdale, next to Whole Foods. No screamers. read more

Totally the worst service I have every experienced. They lost a pair of pants and then were rude to me and the wife of the owner made a face like I was crazy. The shirt collars where always mal-formed and over all very expensive. The pick up service used to drop my laundry in the parking lot of my building. It was only by chance that I found my expensive shirts. I am so much happier now that I switched my business to Caladonia Cleaners. read more

A seemingly very nice couple runs this dry cleaners, one of three or four on Caledonia street alone, and they're generally cheaper than the rest, but beware: don't trust them to clean anything that you value. I did, and I regret it. I brought in seat pillow covers from my (expensive, Italian) couch. I'd had them dry cleaned twice before at other places with no problem, but when I got them back from Sausalito Bright they were damaged: covered with a faint web pattern. I pointed this out to the owner, who agreed that the problem was his "extractor" machine. The covers, he explained, were crumpled during the dirt extraction process, and the creases turned a bright white, making a webby pattern against the cream colored fabric. So far so good. The owner did not agree this was damage, however -- that word he reserved for something that was ripped or torn. In fact, the acid wash effect qualified as a cleaning, he said, because the the whiter parts were not a stain, but a rather extra clean sections! When I asked for my money back, he said that he didn't want to give it to me because customers like me were what drove hard working dry cleaners like him out of business! I just wish they had gone out of business before I made the mistake of going there.... read more

I had been going to Sausalito Bright Dry Cleaners to have my clothes dry cleaned for the last three or so years and was always pleased with their work. The couple who runs the business was friendly and professional. I unfortunately will no longer be patronizing this dry cleaners after the experience with my wedding dress. I trusted this business to clean my dress properly and unfortunately that was a mistake. When I picked up my dress, which had no lace or beading and therefore very easy to clean, it was covered with black spots between the rouching of the material that looks like mold. There is a large yellow water stain around the whole skirt. The dress is essentially ruined. At first, the owner tried to insist the dress was like that when I brought it in, which I know for a fact it was not. The only part with any stains was the underside of the hem and I had brought it in to be cleaned so I could offer the dress to a friend. At the end of the conversation, the owner then told me they ship out wedding dresses to be cleaned and would be filing a complaint for the damage, after unjustly blaming the damage on me. And to top it all off, the owner lost the buttons that had fallen off and forgot our conversation about having them sewn back on and didn't press the dress as I had requested. While they offered to have the dress sent out again, I declined and told them I would not be paying for the cleaning that had already been done, which they did not argue with. And not once during this conversation did I hear the words, "I'm sorry" or were my concerns acknowledged. An apology goes a long way, and unfortunately in this case it cost them a customer. read more

Let's start with the fact that I made this account JUST to review this place because this was by far the worst service I've ever gotten at any Dry Cleaners. DO NOT go here. I dropped off 4 pieces of clothing to be dry cleaned and also wanted to taper my suit pants in a little bit. I have to leave for NYC in a few days so this was a last minute decision to come here despite seeing their 3 stars rating (now I know why.). Anyways, the lady (owner) gave me a quote of $22 to taper my pants in, which I thought was alright so I agreed even though I knew that I could get a cheaper price elsewhere. As soon as she started measuring, she offered to ALSO take in my waist an inch because she thought that it was loose. I told her that's not necessary since I would be wearing a belt. Out of curiosity, I asked her if she were to fix my waist will she charge me extra? She said "No, all of this will be $22" so I thought, hey why not? When I came back two weeks later to pick up my stuff, I first noticed that my white dress shirt STILL has stains on the collar that was noticeable even though I had told her repeatedly to remove them. I would say only 80% of the shirt was clean and the sleeves still has some wrinkle marks. When the girl pulled up my tab, I found out that the previous woman, who was also the owner, apparently charged me $34 for the alteration on my pants even though she had quoted me $22, if that was the case I could of gone somewhere else from the beginning. I got pissed so I told the manager to put her on the phone and she told him that I came in originally wanting to get my WAIST SIZE adjusted not for the tapering on my pants, which was a complete lie. It's bad enough that she jacked up the price, but how is she going to tell me what I wanted to get done on my own pants? Bottom line, I argued about their horrible customer service, paid, and told them I would never come back. PLEASE don't go here, and I'm speaking from honesty. I really wish that I had trusted Yelp from the beginning. read more

Great dry cleaners with a very nice couple running the place. The owner always offers help out to my car when I have a lot of stuff and always very friendly. Besides friendliness, I always look for two other things in a dry cleaner. 1. All the clothes I bring in, I get back. 2. I get them back clean. Sausalito Bright have been doing my laundry weekly for over a year now and it's about time I give them a big fat five stars! They have managed 50+ batches of clothes without a single mistake. Nothing has been lost of damaged and everything has been on time, even when I've asked for rush work. They have taken care of suits, dress shirts, etc. They also fix buttons and things when they have come loose (on request) and offer pick up and delivery within Sausalito for regular clients which is handy. When a raccoon broke into my house and messed up my lounge I also sent antique rugs and cushion covers to Sausalito Bright. They shipped them off via a vendor of theirs and everything came back fresh and pressed. Reading the other reviews I was surprised they don't have a 5-star rating. I imagine they have done thousands of jobs correctly and are getting brought down by the occasional special item that gets messed up. If I wanted a wedding dress to be cleaned I'd take it to a specialist in the city, not a local dry cleaner. However for your weekly laundry including the most valuable day-to-day items, they do the job effectively and at a fair price. read more

I gave these people my weekly dry cleaning business for YEARS and finally they have screwed me over one too many times! I picked up an expensive cashmere sweater and it came back with multiple holes in it. When my husband took it back to show them, the wife sewed the holes together! In the garbage my ruined sweater went. Next time, we were heading on vacation and went to pick up a dry cleaning order, but it was not ready the day promised. I noticed sign saying they deliver "free". I said, "Ok, I'm not leaving for vacation until tomorrow evening, can you simply deliver it to me then? (I live about 1.5 miles away, also in Sausalito). "No, we don't do that" the husband tells me. Curious who they deliver to, I guess not great, loyal customers like me. Last straw? Take in my normal dry cleaning order of business clothes and ask that the wife redo the hem that came out of my skirt. Pick it up a week later and the hem is NOT fixed and skirt's lining is torn and partially sewn to the kick-pleat crooked. Really? By the time I discover this the clerk has already rung my +$100.00 order. She refuses to let me speak to the owner who she is literally speaking to on the telephone. She tells me I can leave the skirt there and come back AGAIN after the owner (butchers it again) sees it. Very, very disappointing that people like this continue to get business when they don't give a damn about the quality they are putting out and they have no appreciation for long-time, loyal customers. read more

So expensive! Usually I just bring a whole bunch of clothes, so when you come to pick it up they just tell the total (which always seem a bit much) So this time I asked for a breakdown receipt. I thought it was a bit expensive. I had 5 men's shirts and bunch of dry clean items. They charged $4.85 for each shirt! Dry clean for ladies jacket was $10.50 and slacks were $7.25. The ladies jacket dry clean was not done well and did not seem clean, but I did not want to go back to them to argue. There are so many other options, it's just easier to elsewhere. read more
