Cross-posting because the owners (Anar and Sherman) are the same as the place I went, Smith Ranch Cleaners. Do yourself a favor and stay away. I only went here because the Bellam location closed, and I was told that they were the same owners. When I went to the Bellam Location (A Touch of Class), I absolutely loved dealing with Sherman. He was kind and friendly, and quality was always top-notch. At Smith Ranch Cleaners, you immediately ask yourself if you should maybe go somewhere else. The inside of the place is not clean, and the lady who works there has nasty long fingernails. I wouldn't want her to touch my clean clothes, that's for sure. She is on the chatty side, and it's hard to get out of there. She also told me that the clothing is no longer being cleaned in Marin, it's all being done in Oakland now since the plant on Bellam got shut down. After picking up my clothes, I couldn't believe my eyes. Here is what I emailed the business: --------- 1) one of my sweaters, cashmere, was hung on a very dirty hanger! A plastic hanger with tons of black grime on it. Please see picture. Because it was not the typical sticky hanger, the sweater slipped off the hanger in the parking lot and fell on the ground. Not ideal for something that was just cleaned! Since when do you use those types of hangers, and why do you use dirty hangers for customers? 2) two of my brand new dresses came back with pulled threads, see pictures 3) my brand new coat came back with white hair all over it! See picture 4) when I've brought items to you, there is always a note on the order if a stain didn't come out...I asked the lady who served me if she knew if the stains came out of my white linen pants and she wasn't sure, she said it depended on the stain...it didn't come out which is fine, but why wasn't there a note? I am so disappointed in Smith Ranch Cleaners. The worst part is really the two brand new dresses that have pulled threads. Can you help me understand what happened please? Why is the service so terrible at that location? What can we do about my damaged dresses? They weren't cheap and they were brand new. The hair is so strange too, we don't have a pet and it wasn't there before. ------- After this email in January, I didn't hear back for a week, and called. I spoke to one of the owners, Anar, who told me she would call me back in a week because she was dealing with a death in he family. I waited 3 months to give her space, and still didn't hear back. Not acceptable. I emailed again and she wrote back, and I asked her if she would be able to fix the damaged clothing, no response. Another month later I emailed again demanding a refund. She refused, only offering to try to fix the clothes. I refuse to let this business get their incapable hands on my clothing ever again. I now wasted over $100 in drycleaning charges and had two $150 dresses ruined. I will be filing a BBB complaint. I cannot believe how the owners of this business treat a loyal customer. Please take your business somewhere else and save yourself the trouble. read more

I was using the wash and fold services out of the Bellam location for 10 years. Never had a problem-laundry delivered clean and in timely manner. I was surprised when I called them months ago and no-one answered the phone. I called the Ross location to find out why no one was picking up the phone on Bellam. I was told that the Bellam location closed and wash and fold was being done out of the Ross location. I kind of felt slighted-why was there no recorded message on the Bellam phone to let customers know wash and fold is now being done in Ross? Why didn't the Ross location let customers know of the change? I did have the Ross location do my wash and fold about 2 times. When they picked up my wash and fold this time they called me and said they would not wash my little scatter rugs because the rugs did not have care labels on them.( The rugs are machine wash and dry). The same rugs they have been cleaning for 10 years. The same rugs that they(Ross) just washed and folded 3 months ago. They said they were returning my dirty rugs. The service has really gone down hill. I have recommended the Bellam location on Nextdoor. But since the Ross location has taken over and the poor customer service I will not be recommending them anymore and I will not be a returning customer. After spilling red wine on the cashmere sweater dress I had planned to wear to my fiance's family holiday party, I was feeling hopeless. I used Touch of Class valet laundry service. Although the cleaning itself was good, the customer service and delivery were terrible. They would often forget to pick up my laundry, or they would drop off only half of the items, or some were items were taken out to be pressed and I was never notified. They do not leave notes or call to inform me of what is happening with my order. I had to constantly call them to manage my things and ensure that I would get everything picked up and delivered back. I felt like I was doing their job for them, so am not sure what I was paying for exactly. I do not recommend the valet laundry service. read more

A friendly, neighborhood dry cleaner that greets you by name? Lovely! Everything we have sent here has come back--via valet, no less--beautifully, from typical business apparel to children's dress clothes, not to mention a daunting soy sauce stain on silk. They also saved the day by sewing on Boy Scout badges with a one-day turnaround. The prices are quite reasonable, as well. We can't recommend this family business highly enough! read more

I had to take the time to write a review for Touch of Class. My parent's are in their 80's and so I felt it was time for them to not have to deal with the daily chore of doing laundry. I gave my Dad a present of Laundry Service for Father's Day two years ago. It's the gift that keeps on giving. His present has made life so much better for everyone. My mom loves it too as she sends all her laundry out to be cleaned also. Touch of Class picks up their laundry and dry cleaning every Tuesday. The clean clothes are delivered back to their house on Thursday. The clothes are clean and beautifully pressed. Everyone comments on how nicely dressed my parents are and this is greatly due to the fact that their clothes are being cleaned by Touch of Class. So if you are trying to think of a a really great present for someone in your life. do what I did. Set up an account with Touch if Class to start helping your family or friends by taking away the burden of doing laundry and treat them to laundry service. This is a fantastic service. I wish we had discovered it when we first moved to Marin. The company's valet service is amazing and solves having to rush over to a dry cleaning store in the evenings or spend time on it over the weekend. Even better, the clothes are super clean. In fact, I sent a few pieces to Touch of Class that I had written off. The stains were bad but Alvin and team were able to salvage them. I'm super grateful! I really appreciate the organic treatments the company uses and have noticed a big difference in how my clothes feel - especially the wool sweaters. They finally feel CLEAN, as opposed to put through a chemical bath. The prices are a bit more than a regular cleaners, but are the same as a cleaner in the city was charging me for "wet" cleaning that did absolutely nothing. Given the service is great and it's delivered to your house, the price is worth it! So happy with Touch of Class! read more

A Touch of Class offered the professional service that I was looking for. I brought my wedding dress in to get pressed and I didn't want to trust my wedding dress to just anyone. It became apparent very quickly that I had made the right choice. They were friendly, offered advice, were cost efficient, and pressed my dress in a timely manner. I could tell right away that they were very experienced in handling wedding dresses. While my dress was simple, it meant a lot to me that it was handled appropriately - they did so and more. I felt that they really cared. I would highly recommend A Touch of Class for any dry cleaning services, but most especially if you need any services related to your wedding attire. read more

Extremely friendly, professional service and exceptional quality! I took my wedding dress here to get dry cleaned and steamed and was extremely happy with both the results and the expedited service. If you're in a hurry like I was, it's easier to drop it off at their factory in San Rafael vs. Ross. I was impressed that they took such good care of me, and my beloved wedding dress, and also called me when it was ready and followed up with me after to thank me for my business! My dress was a floor sample gown, so it had some dirt marks on the train and the zipper where people had tried it on, but those stains were all successfully removed. When I picked up my dress, it was nicely packaged in a long blue plastic dry cleaning bag and the sweetheart neckline was perfectly steamed and had a cardboard thing hanging in the bodice of the dress to hold its shape. I couldn't be happier and I'm especially grateful to Alvin who is a partner at this family owned business, and his sister, who both showed excellent and professional customer service from end to end. Not sure how a touch of class manages to get 5 starts reviews? We changed cleaners about 6 months ago, now going to a touch of class, but not any longer. The problem is with white sheets, after 6 months they're basically all yellow with none of the stains if there were any, gone (make up...). I went through all our white sheets today, and spray washed all yellow and stains if any with oxy clean and washed them myself. I managed to get them back pretty much white and 100 times better than they came back from cleaners. If I can do that myself at home, how can a professional cleaner not even be able to do basic washing without turning everything significantly yellow and otherwise not clean? It looks like sheets were just thrown in a random wash (was there even any soap)? and just pressed, except they managed to turn them significantly yellow. The result have been so bad I do not know how they can have the nerve to press them and give them back to us? read more

I cannot say enough good things about the marvelous alterations lady at this cleaners (they're good cleaners, too, whom I've used for 20+ years)! I took a motorcycle jacket that I had bought in France in to have a pocket made for a back protector, to increase the jacket's protective armor (it came with shoulder and elbow armor). Mai totally got what I wanted and did an absolutely perfect job on what cannot be a common request--the armor fits perfectly in the pocket, which has a neat Velcro closing, so it can be removed for washing. Pleasant and skillfull. The service was courteous and exactly what I sought a taylor/sewing service for. I brought 9 collard shirts in that fit correctly except the bottom length.. too long to wear casually. The woman providing the sewing and alteration is a gem, they came back to me perfect, not to mention the grandson of the original owner, (store now being managed by his daughter), leaving his toys out for share.
