The food was incredible - seasonal, great flavor combos, and plated beautifully. Come hungry because by the 10th course, you'll still have 5 more! The small plates were some of my favorite bites and we added on the king salmon as an extra. My husband even had a caviar "bump" which he found delicious. We did not do the full wine pairing but I did have their rosé on the menu which was fantastic. We both left completely full and ready to come back again for HH/dinner, which we agreed we'll have to do on their cute outdoor patio. Definitely a must-try experience if you have the time and budget! Plus the staff - our server, the sommelier, and bartender were all super nice and informative.

The dining room itself is beautiful--chic seating, a classic-meets-modern look, and a gorgeous tall bar. Definitely a space with personality. They offer a five-course tasting menu, which initially caught my attention. I tried to get a better idea of what was included since the menu doesn't really disclose the courses. I'm not sure if the ambiguity is intentional, but unfortunately my waiter didn't do a great job explaining it either, so I ultimately decided against it. I did watch the table next to me go through the tasting menu, and while I understand tasting-menu portions are naturally smaller, these looked particularly tiny to me. I wasn't super hungry anyway, so I kept things simple with the mushroom risotto and green salad. Both were delicious--the risotto was flavorful and well executed, while the salad tasted fresh and high quality. I also had the only rosé offered by the glass, an Oregon wine that happened to be well rated on Vivino, and really enjoyed it. Overall, a good experience. Everything I actually ate was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with quality ingredients. The atmosphere is probably the biggest standout for me. I'd be curious to come back, and hopefully get a little more guidance on the tasting menu next time.

Exposed brick walls, bronzish art pieces, warm lighting--it feels stylish without trying too hard ( did not know restaurant is 30 years old) I was joining after a run, so I was probably a little underdressed . The general vibe is chic-casual, but I still felt completely comfortable and welcomed. My host was incredibly kind and accommodating throughout the meal. I ordered the hanging tenderloin medium rare based on her recommendation, and she was also more than happy to add some greens on the side when I asked. I really appreciate that Mizuna makes a point of using vegetables from local farms. The dish almost reminded me of something you might get at a traditional Lyonnaise restaurant, but with a more modern and refined touch. The beet salad, though, was a piece of art. I would honestly come back just for this dish. The beets had an almost candied quality without being overly sweet, and they worked beautifully with the freshness of the mint and the creamy chèvre mousse. Fantastic balance of flavors and textures. Great atmosphere, genuinely warm hospitality, and food that feels thoughtful without being overly complicated. Mizuna was a really enjoyable surprise.

Her warmth was genuine, her recommendations were spot-on, and she had an incredible ability to anticipate what we needed before we even asked. She remembered details from earlier in the conversation, kept the energy upbeat, and handled a small mix-up with our order with total grace and a smile. That kind of poise is rare. If you're lucky enough to be seated in Lily's section, you're in for a treat. She's the kind of server who turns a good meal into a genuinely memorable experience. We'll absolutely be back, and we'll be asking for her by name!

Most recently, on a Friday evening around 7 PM, my party was seated near the end of the bar by the restroom area. A server approached me in a confrontational manner and told me to move my chair because it was blocking the walkway. I immediately complied and moved it where he directed. Despite that, he repeatedly pushed and squeezed past the chair in an aggressive way several times afterward and then returned to confront me about it again. The interaction felt hostile, unnecessary, and unprofessional. Unfortunately, this wasn't an isolated incident. On a previous visit, a female server was rude and controlling toward our table, and on another occasion when we were unhappy with a menu item, the response was essentially, "You ordered it, you pay for it," with no attempt to address the concern professionally. The atmosphere is great, which is why we've continued to come back. However, after several visits involving rude and confrontational interactions with staff, it feels more like an ongoing culture issue than a one-time bad experience. I don't expect special treatment, but I do expect basic courtesy and respect. Hopefully management takes these concerns seriously and works to improve the customer experience.

I had told her the manufacturer in Leavenworth, Washington was able to tell me that they supply to only two places in Spokane and 1616 is one of them. She looked in her computer and returned to the phone and stated they don't have any. That they've been sold out for at least a couple weeks and we're waiting for another shipment. Then she says she has a different flavor though. And I'm assuming we were still speaking about the manufacturer "Icicle" who creates several types of beer with such integrity and smoothness. She said it's a s'mores flavor and she likes it. It's her "go-to when dark persuasion wasn't available" she says. She got my interest and I replied that I should probably come by and try that, assuming we are still speaking about a product made by the manufacturer icicle. Then she says "Oh wait a minute, I was wrong. We actually have a case of Icicles Dark Persuasion". So that relieved me that they weren't just a tavern or lounge where they sell only a single bottle or a can of beer or just single glasses of wine. I'm thinking perhaps this is more of a wine and liquor store. So I said yes please, put my name on that case I'll come by and pick it up . She says she will have "the fellow working with her" put my name on it . Then there was a gap in the conversation since I was curious if she was even going to ask me my name. She didn't so I offered it . She says again "okay I'll have the fellow working with me put your name on it then" . I'm getting ready to get in the car to make that drive during rush hour and I called them back to make sure she actually was able to put eyes on this case of beer she said she had actually found on her computer. It rang until the answering machine requested I leave a message. I got in the car and started driving anyway and called them 15 minutes later and it did the same thing . I figured I'll have the s'mores as she recommended since we were talking about icicle beer and how much we both enjoyed the dark persuasion . I fight traffic for approximately 5 MI getting to their location during rush hour and I walk into their establishment and it is a sit-down and enjoy your drink type establishment. Red flag, was she really on the same page as myself regarding picking up a case of beer? I asked the fellow working behind the counter if he could bring the case of a dark persuasion by icicle and that his coworker had put my name on it. He returned from the back with a six pack that had two beer already taken out of it. He had four beer for me. I stated that she said she had a 12 pack and my name is going on it. He walked past me to a cooler and was able to pick out eight singles in their cooler. Two additional red since she broke down the case, do they not sell cases? And if she broke it down and put eight in the cooler did she really disregard as fast as the conversation I just had with her happened to put my name on it?
