It was a full circle evening. Gander & Ryegrass was the birthplace to the idea for our little dinner club. We are so happy they are still serving our community. G&R offers contemporary Italian fine dining, serving lunch and dinner with full à la carte and tasting menu options. Tonight we went for BURGER MONDAY! Everything seasoned to perfection, fresh high-quality ingredients and house made bread/buns. This is a really special place and made to feel welcome the moment you walk in the door. Our server Sam was the best! Beautiful decor that is both elegant and quirky. Plus it's right next to the beloved long-time standing Aunties Bookstore! . DRINKS: FRENCH 75 and Housemade soda . - G&R CLASSIC BURGER: RICOTTA PICKLED FENNEL SHALLOT AIOLI. ARUGULA SPECK BEER MUSTARD. Can this place quit it? Everything they do is amazing. I don't like caviar, or duck, or raw beef, but here I am loving it. Just shows you, that when you know what pairs, how to enhance, utilize fresh ingredients and are trained in excellence, it's mind blowing. I'd eat here every day for the rest of my life if I could afford it. Well done chef/owner.

While staying in Spokane, a colleague recommended that I have dinner at this restaurant. I decided to visit on my own, and I'm glad I did -- the interior is beautifully lit with natural light and has a lovely, relaxing atmosphere. I was initially seated at the bar, but I would have preferred to sit at a table. It would be nice if solo diners had the option to choose a table as well. That said, the woman who assisted me was very pleasant and explained the menu clearly. I ordered the fresh oysters and the Campanelle. The food was delicious, especially the oysters, which were fresh and flavorful. Overall, I enjoyed the ambiance and the attentive service. Next time, I'd love to come back with a friend and enjoy a longer, more relaxed meal.

Late lunch at The Grand Terrace Bar is a perfect setting to enjoy quality time with family. Restaurant was quiet and quaint. Small dinning area with about 10 tables. Server was friendly and food was excellent! Grilled prawns, Grilled Chicken, steelhead fish, Campanelle pasta and the special off the day... shaved steak sandwich. So good.

I am pretty sure this sandwich should be illegal! It is absolutely delicious and addicting! I could eat it everyday!!! A wonderful place! Absolutely love! Charming atmosphere! Great service and EPIC FOOD!!!!

We recently dined with an unexpected time crunch, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had still an enjoyable dinner. The service was impeccable and we did in fact make it out on time. I had the scallops and my husband had the hanger steak, both cooked perfectly. They make some of the best restaurant bread in town, so definitely order the bread, too!

I was welcomed most warmly upon arriving by an extroverted. Bartender, Daniel I had a fantastic Pinot and crustini to tide me over till dinner I've become a fan of crustini It gives the chef the opportunity to be creative several different ways on a small scale, single plate. Crustini had a great golden crust , buttered and grilled. Fantastic even before sampling the smoked goat cheese and jam sampler. Who raves about crustini. I do now! My halibut was adorned by roe / crispy chicken skin/ broccolini Over a bed of slightly tangy green veggies. Classy and comforting.

Just enjoyed another wonderful dinner here! GM Ashley was delightful and made the experience great. Amazing wines and pairings, beautiful and tasty dishes, couldn't ask for anything more.

This is hands down the most spectacular bread I have ever "experienced" and I do mean experienced. Unbelievable. The oysters were amazing too. So so good I'm in town on a business trip and I felt completely comfortable sitting at the bar and having a nice glass of Pinot Grigio and fabulous appetizers. The bartender was lovely and super helpful! I highly highly recommend this restaurant. (And I lived in NYC for 10 years-this bread was equal to)

Highly recommend for good quality food and nice atmosphere. Cozy, nestled in corner of bookstore loft space. Got one of the pasta dishes (did not disappoint), and the layer cake dessert was one the best desserts I have had! Smaller portions but rich and full of flavor

I had told her the manufacturer in Leavenworth, Washington was able to tell me that they supply to only two places in Spokane and 1616 is one of them. She looked in her computer and returned to the phone and stated they don't have any. That they've been sold out for at least a couple weeks and we're waiting for another shipment. Then she says she has a different flavor though. And I'm assuming we were still speaking about the manufacturer "Icicle" who creates several types of beer with such integrity and smoothness. She said it's a s'mores flavor and she likes it. It's her "go-to when dark persuasion wasn't available" she says. She got my interest and I replied that I should probably come by and try that, assuming we are still speaking about a product made by the manufacturer icicle. Then she says "Oh wait a minute, I was wrong. We actually have a case of Icicles Dark Persuasion". So that relieved me that they weren't just a tavern or lounge where they sell only a single bottle or a can of beer or just single glasses of wine. I'm thinking perhaps this is more of a wine and liquor store. So I said yes please, put my name on that case I'll come by and pick it up . She says she will have "the fellow working with her" put my name on it . Then there was a gap in the conversation since I was curious if she was even going to ask me my name. She didn't so I offered it . She says again "okay I'll have the fellow working with me put your name on it then" . I'm getting ready to get in the car to make that drive during rush hour and I called them back to make sure she actually was able to put eyes on this case of beer she said she had actually found on her computer. It rang until the answering machine requested I leave a message. I got in the car and started driving anyway and called them 15 minutes later and it did the same thing . I figured I'll have the s'mores as she recommended since we were talking about icicle beer and how much we both enjoyed the dark persuasion . I fight traffic for approximately 5 MI getting to their location during rush hour and I walk into their establishment and it is a sit-down and enjoy your drink type establishment. Red flag, was she really on the same page as myself regarding picking up a case of beer? I asked the fellow working behind the counter if he could bring the case of a dark persuasion by icicle and that his coworker had put my name on it. He returned from the back with a six pack that had two beer already taken out of it. He had four beer for me. I stated that she said she had a 12 pack and my name is going on it. He walked past me to a cooler and was able to pick out eight singles in their cooler. Two additional red since she broke down the case, do they not sell cases? And if she broke it down and put eight in the cooler did she really disregard as fast as the conversation I just had with her happened to put my name on it?

Most recently, on a Friday evening around 7 PM, my party was seated near the end of the bar by the restroom area. A server approached me in a confrontational manner and told me to move my chair because it was blocking the walkway. I immediately complied and moved it where he directed. Despite that, he repeatedly pushed and squeezed past the chair in an aggressive way several times afterward and then returned to confront me about it again. The interaction felt hostile, unnecessary, and unprofessional. Unfortunately, this wasn't an isolated incident. On a previous visit, a female server was rude and controlling toward our table, and on another occasion when we were unhappy with a menu item, the response was essentially, "You ordered it, you pay for it," with no attempt to address the concern professionally. The atmosphere is great, which is why we've continued to come back. However, after several visits involving rude and confrontational interactions with staff, it feels more like an ongoing culture issue than a one-time bad experience. I don't expect special treatment, but I do expect basic courtesy and respect. Hopefully management takes these concerns seriously and works to improve the customer experience.
