This is a cool place. It has a very relaxed ambiance. Outside patio has great view of Spokane city along Centennial Trail path. The young man bartender was engaging and welcoming. The day we visited, he stayed super chill while managing place all by himself with a lot of customers. It is a wine store as well. People stop by tasting and choosing wine with the help of the bartender. He also helped me to find the beer I liked. Perfect little spot to stop for some beer or wine! We stopped here for some beer. Service was super friendly, we wanted to sit outside because it's along the river and we waited about 15 minutes and then a table opened up outside. We were excited! Especially me since I'm from out of town. It was lovely sitting along the pathway and watching people go past and the water moving down stream as we drank our beers and ate some nice treats. Not in this case (posted a pair of photos-see highlights of menu and image of the lacking plate). As you will also note from their menu description the plate should include cheese and sausage. Check the photo - nope, none to be found. What the hell?! When asked, we were told, oh there's a new guy, we're under staffed and they were out of the sausage. Ok, out of sausage, then say something when you place the order, or at least bring the plate out with an alternate. What about the cheese. Deer in the headlights response. Ridiculous! Do better!! This is one of my favorite wine bars in Spokane, and that's really saying something given how many there are. We actually ended up here 2 days in a row because we knew they would have exactly what we wanted. Their patio has such a beautiful view, they have wine and beer slushees, and charcuterie all at a super reasonable price - what more could you ask for? I'm obsessed with their frose, but the jungle juice beer slushee is amazing too. Their large charcuterie plate isn't really that much food, but it's also only $18, which seems like a steal to me. After living in the Kendall Yards neighborhood for a few years now, this place is a must visit after a long days work or a place to wind down. I've joined the wine club and have been enjoying the different perks that has brought along. All day happy hour, discounts on bottles as well as the monthly free bottle. The menu can change depending on availability of wines so make sure to stop by frequently to see what's new! I feel welcomed by all the staff and couldn't think of one thing to complain about. I just want to preface I don't drink. That being said, service was great. We were checked on several times. There's a lovely patio area to hang out at. My friends enjoyed their drinks. We ordered the beer candied bacon (though odd presentation, it does make sense and they were gobbled up pretty quickly) and the artichoke and spinach dip. I'm taking a star off because the dip was so bland? The bread itself didn't have any sort of good taste on its own and it was slightly stale. Most disappointing dip. :( read more

Terrible service. Wife and I came here after a walk and got our drink order in and the waiter just left for a while. We also wanted food but never had a chance to order any before we just gave up on the prospect of getting food. The patio has a nice view though. There are so many better places in Kendall yards, go there instead. read more

There was an accident outside where my dog jumped up to see another dog & knocked the table over spilling & breaking glass everywhere. My friend & myself of course jump up & try to get out of way. Another man walking by tries to help leaving 3 people & a dog staring at an upended table & debris. The staff comes out, and procedures to yell at us to move away as we are an insurance liability if we clean up the broken glass. Not once did any of your staff ask if we were ok. They yell & get in argument with man who was trying to help. The staff goes in to get brooms, so we move to other table. Assuming we'd re-order drinks. We were told we were NOT welcome & must leave which is where the cussing match occurred. I mention to them nobody bothered to be concerned with our health only insurance which was said repeatedly. And I was told it was my fault. Not saying it wasn't, but let's act like adults. Meanwhile I'm bleeding all over the ground from several cuts on my hand & fingers. (See pict...there were several blood piles like this around to which I point out & take this picture) This was the worst treatment of customers ever, and truthfully I was mad at my friend for paying. Covid time review: It's really hard to beat Nectar's patio on a nice Spokane day. It is directly above the Centennial Trail and beside the Spokane River. They have a great selection of wines, beers (including 16 crafts on tap), and ciders, and have a few snack options to nosh on. Wines are available in glasses or bottles while drinking in and bottles to take home. You can also order food in from their Kendall Yards neighbors such as pizza from Versalia (formerly Verace) next door or Mediterranean-inspired plates from Baba (formerly Wandering Table) across the street. We got a table without much of a wait on a Friday after work. They are seating both indoors and outdoors. All staff and runners are wearing masks, and patrons are required to wear masks until seated. They allow dogs on the patio! With our drinks, four of us shared the charcuterie plate and the artichoke and spinach dip. Both were tasty. I would recommend the charcuterie plate because it has something for everyone--nice cheeses, aged meats, fresh fruit, almonds, and mustard and house-made fig jelly with crackers. Despite being busy, our server was attentive. No reservations so nab a table sooner rather than later on a sunny day! read more

So I can have a great beer and a bite of food from wherever I might be craving, often my choice is Veraci from next door! You know what I immediately liked about this place? The name. You know what you're getting here, and you have plenty of choices. If I recall correctly, there were 32 wines available by the glass and 16 beers on tap. As if that weren't enough, you can also purchase selections from their retail area up front and drink those. There looked to be several conversation areas inside with comfortable chairs, but I went outside to the patio that Nectar shares with Veraci pizza. The views are beautiful. As I sat in the sun and waited for a friend to join me, a friendly server came by to "dust" the chairs and table (spring=pollen) and make conversation. Both servers I spoke with were professional and cheerful. I tried a flight of Orlison beers, six 4oz beers for $9, and they were tasty. Setting up shop next to Veraci was either a stroke of luck or a great idea, because the Nectar food menu is small but augmented by having a pizza place next door. The slice I had with my beer makes me want to visit Veraci next. Nectar Wine and Beer is a nice place to spend time with friends and try some wines or craft beer. I don't know if the atmosphere changes at night (afternoon was quiet and relaxing), but I do know that I plan to return and try some of their other offerings. read more

We returned one afternoon to see how it would be the second go-around, and our experience was completely different. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by a smiling, friendly man who I think was the owner, but I didn't want to give myself away, so I didn't ask. He was quick to offer suggestions for wines, and he allowed me to browse the wine store before settling back in the seating area. Naturally, he knew his wines as well, and he was able to direct me toward a dry rose, which was perfect for the extremely hot day outside. I didn't feel pressured or rushed, and I appreciated the ability to move at my own pace, especially after a hectic day of work. Once seated, we were treated well by the server, a younger man with glasses and a positive attitude. I took another try at the spinach artichoke dip, and while it was mostly cream cheese, I didn't mind it since I have dairy almost never anymore. Call it a treat. They also brought an adequate supply of bread, so no repeats on the cracker situation needed. When the check came, the server offered to split it before we even had the chance to figure out who was who and what was what. In the end, I was pleasantly surprised by the selection of the wines, the friendliness of the employees, and the casual, laid back pace of the setting. My only regret was that we didn't sit on the outdoor patio because it was hovering around 100 degrees. I guess this means I will have to return. Also, thanks to the owner for reaching out to me. After working in the service industry for a decade I know what good service is like. My party of 4 interacted with 3 members of staff and had 3 completely different service experiences. Person 1 (inside) she ignored us, didn't pre-buss the table at all, didn't offer more drinks when our glasses were empty. Server 101, offer to get more alcoholic beverages to get a higher check percentage. Furthermore they simply had very little wine knowledge and and said "I only like sweet or bitter wine" then referred us to a coworker for wine questions... Good server 101, part of selling alcohol is telling the guest the good characteristics of the beverage and being informed at least a small amount. A table opened up outside (we were on the waiting list) so we made our way outside. We offered to pay up with the person inside she declined and transferred. Person 2, he was funny and did make sure we had wine going. We asked for water and we got a wine bottle of water and 4 glasses. Unfortunately he never refilled the water wine bottle that was gone quickly being split between 4 people. Also no pre-bussing from this person either. 4 people can go through a lot of dishes and wine glasses so pre-bussing is a must. Person 3 idk who this guy was with the bun and shaved sides but he was awesome! He was not receiving any money from us directly, but he greeted us when we walked in, pre-bussed our table many times, took wine orders when he was bussing our tables, had good recommendations on wine, and offered us more water because we were out. On our way out he de-greeted us with a smile. If all the weight staff here worked like person 3 did it would be 5 stars no questions. I gave 3 stars because the patio view is nice, wine selection is good, and the atmosphere is pleasant, but service needs some work. Service can make or break a place and right now it's breaking this place. Please make the guy with the bun a server. He was awesome and the main saving grace of this place. I will give it another go and see if service is better sometime soon. read more

It is confusing though because they share the patio with Verraci and it is only separated by an obscure rope. The inside is very sleek and modern but I don't feel like I have to be a highfalutin wine expert to be at home here. Great place! Go to the Wednesday night market in Kendall yards and then have a drink on the patio. It makes for a great evening! My one complaint about Nectar is that they like to "showcase" local breweries by dedicating several taps to one brewery. I find this to be a silly waste of tap space. Mainly because if you want to try the full scope of what a brewery is producing then go to the brewery. They are local after all... Also I don't have a very high opinion of 75% of Spokane's breweries. I don't think this deserves a deduction of stars because I realize this is just my very opinionated self talking here. read more

Went here a couple weekends ago for a group date night and this place has great ambiance. We scored a table outside with a view of the river, cannot beat that view on a summer evening! Our server was knowledgeable about the drink menu and was super sweet and attentive but not overbearing, excellent service (bummed I don't remember her name, she had blondish brown hair, was wearing a tank top and has a flower tattoo on her shoulder I think). The guys liked the beer flights and 2 of the girls had the wine flights which they enjoyed. I'm not a big wine or beer drinker (I gravitate towards fruity and sweet) so I was happy to see a peach Bellini and moscato on their menu, loved them both! We were all pretty hungry since it was dinner time so we sent the guys next door to Veraci's to order some take-out. Nectar is cool with people bringing over pizza which is nice. They do have some small appetizer type options on their menu but if you have a more voracious appetite then it's nice to have the option. The outdoor seating area does have a sign that shows where Nectar's area ends and Veraci's begins but it's a little hard to spot so we saw a few people wander over to Veraci's side not realizing that Nectar doesn't serve over there. So make sure to stay over to the left of the sign of you're grabbing a table outside. Overall, great date night spot and we'll definitely be back! read more
