Sadly this restaurant fell short in both , service and food. We noticed that waiter was more attentive towards other groups of customers in the restaurant. He took forever to take our order and we felt as he wasn't as attentive nor friendly. Food was not as good as I expected especially at this level of "fine" dining and pricing . Water tasted off, just strange. Other patrons also complained about it. Steak was delicious but mashed potatoes were meh . Caprese salad was just ok. Tomatoes were too mushy . This is probably Spokane's best offering for a higher end steak dinner. It was not bad at all, so I'm not saying that. But it was just okay. Environment is nice, white tablecloth, service was solid, but when it came to the food, I was just not wowed by the steak -- and that's why you come here. There were three of us for a work dinner, I was looking forward to trying this place, and while I'm glad we did try it, I think I will probably check out some other places in town next time. Overall, the USDA prime was fine, but I didn't find it to be among the top tier of other USDA prime I have had regionally, nor did I think the sides or appetizers were particularly stand out. The meal was largely forgettable. It's not a bad place to go - the vibe is nice if you're looking for something that feels like a special night out maybe, and the service was solid. In all honestly I'm leaning more towards a 3.5. While our actual dinner was really nice, I feel like the service and prices made it not worth it. The food was all really good (except the cake, just too dense) but not anything that blew my mind, except the prices lol. The water they were serving was also so weird, it tasted like chlorine. Going back to the service, our waiter did not give us the same service. He was giving the other people more attention and was just kind of fast and not attentive with us. OUTSTANDING meal at this downtown spot. The dining room is on the first floor, there are stairs to a lounge downstairs. Dining room is classic steakhouse style. Dark colors, muted sound, formal draperies, fresh flowers. And of course the obligatory wine locker for regulars. The room exudes classy upscale. We were seated immediately. Our server Monica was fantastic. Friendly, charming and professional. She wowed us with the presentation of the beef choices and helped with some solid recommendations. She kept the meal moving at a comfortable pace with the right amount of attention. THANK YOU! A basket of warm, fresh-baked bread is served after wine is poured, with imported Belgian butter and a tiny ramekin of sea salt for seasoning. Delicious crusty rolls, airy in the center, warm enough to melt the butter. We began with a burrata appetizer. The cheese was excellent - fresh, creamy and a little sweater than mozzarella. It's served on a platter loaded with sliced yellow tomato drizzled with olive oil and balsamic glaze, tapenade, capers, bruschetta, olives and sliced crisped bread. Plenty to share and delicious! Plenty of entree options on the menu. But if you're at a steakhouse, you order.... STEAK! Opted this time for filet mignon. The test of a great steakhouse is if they serve the steak at the right temperature. Churchill's NAILED IT! Perfectly medium rare, nice crunchy salt & pepper sear on the outside, juicy, dark pink, flavorful and fork tender in the center. This is among the best steaks I've ever had. Others at the table tried a couple of the other available options - bleu cheese topping, oscar-style (asparagus and lump crab meat). All of the steaks were perfect. No room for dessert this time. We vowed to start with dessert next visit. Be aware, this isn't Outback. It's expensive. You're paying for high quality ingredients, skilled kitchen, stellar service and a classy environment. I had an amazing night with friends at Churchills. Tonya was an incredible server. She made sure that we were well taken care of, and had a great attitude ! She showed us each cut of steak and all the extras we could add to our meal and elevate it. The food was out of this world! They cook their steak to order and just how you like it- I finally got a real medium rare! Tonya was seriously the highlight of our night, we had amazing service and amazing food! They got a vegan option at Churchhills! ;D Ask for the vegetarian pepper and modify for vegan. (They switch out the butter in the risotto) Lots of yummy mushrooms in the pepper i was surprised its actually good considering its an off menu item and the only entree available for vegans. After reading all the reviews, this seemed like a great place for a Real Steak Dinner! Good to know .....you can make a reservation with opentable.com. So we did, 3 pax at 8:00pm. Parking was right next door and for only $10 for up to 4hrs, it was really convenient. Upon arrival at the restaurant, we were promptly greeted and didn't have to wait at all. We were guided to our booth style table and our server Sean was very helpful and friendly. Never have I ever sat at a restaurant and been brought out a display of all the different cuts of meat and been able to select my steak from the detailed descriptions Sean gave! That was SO awesome and unique. The ambience was semi formal, and there was a hint of music playing in the background. The booths were lined with a very soft and luxurious velvet like sky blue material, I loved how they felt! Lol! The upstairs dining room was about at 50% capacity. I did find out later that there was an area downstairs that was a Lounge and bar style dining area too. But forgot to go down and check it out. Next time. Hands down the best steakhouse I've ever been to!! We were visiting Spokane and l decided to stop in before seeing a comedy show at the Fox. Best dinner decision ever. Our server was Monica and she was absolutely amazing. She was so nice, helpful, accommodating and knowledgeable! We were blown away when she brought out the tray of all the different steak cuts and explained all of them to us. We ended up ordering 2 drinks (old fashioned), an 8oz filet and the cowboy ribeye. Everything we ordered was so SO good. That was the best old fashioned I've ever had. And the cowboy ribeye was to die for!! That alone would be good enough to share. Monica also brought out some fresh baked bread with butter and salt and that was mouth watering. The entire experience was wonderful. The restaurants ambiance was upscale, romantic and comforting. Last evening was my first experience. Heard this was the #1 steakhouse in the area and have to say I am impressed. The restaurant ambiance is such a vibe. The moment you walk through the door you feel a strong energy of happy patrons. We were seated immediately within our reservation time. Monica was our server for the evening. Very friendly and you could tell she enjoyed her job. My guest had crab cakes as an appetizer. We both had Ribeyes as entrees and added broccolini and Mac/Cheese as a side. The food was outstanding, and the service was top notch. We came here last night for Valentine's and ordered the sirloin and Chilean sea bass. Both were flavorful, cooked to perfection. The wait staff were very attentive and welcoming. I wish I remembered our waiter's name, but he went above and beyond to make our night memorable. We came in for our anniversary, my first visit to Churchill's. My husband has been a couple times. I love the old steakhouse ambiance, very classy. I had the vodka martini w blue cheese stuffed olives, just as good as one would imagine. My husband said the same about his old fashioned. The rolls with butter and finishing salt, they were something to come back for. Delicious. We started with the crab cakes. I love how clean they were, not a lot of fillers. So tasty. We both ordered a rib eye (they were both cooked to perfection) and the sides were a great accompaniment. They brought us a crime brûlée for dessert. Comparing to the steakhouses I've been to, everything was on par. The service was top notch. Our server was as so great. Nothing could've been improved! read more

We're not rich by any means but we were there for our 21st wedding anniversary and our kids wanted to spoil us so they paid for a beautiful night out. But when I told the waiter that we didn't want to buy a whole bottle of wine we just wanted a glass he changed the way he served us. We still tipped very well but we could tell his mood changed. The service is great, hostess was friendly with a smile, waiter dress very professional, and even get a visit from the manager. Waiter came in with a platter of meat, describing from a basic filet to a cowboy steak. Explaining the details how the meat should be prepared to maximize your experience. The mashed potatoes extra cream and snap green peas had a great crunch. Escargot extra garlic if you want to push your palette. Of course finished with a crème brûlée with raspberries. We were in town for a conference and wanted to find a unique and memorable dining experience--what a gem we discovered! Churchill's was an unexpected delight. The atmosphere was stunning and the service truly exceptional. Our server, Derek C., went above and beyond. With patience and grace, he expertly walked us through our dining options, even taking the time to visually and descriptively explain each cut of meat. His attention to detail was impressive--our drinks were never empty, and each course arrived perfectly timed. I rarely write reviews, but this experience genuinely stood out. I don't write reviews often and the ones I've written have been positive. I must say this was a very disappointing experience from a well known local establishment. The first negative which alone can make or break the meal is the level of service. I got the distinct impression our server would have preferred to be somewhere else. The second negative was the quality of the ribeye both myself and wife ordered. TOUGH - like something you might be served at Aussies. I said to the manager this was not the quality I have had in the past nor expected. He graciously replaced my meal with another steak. The problem was that I received a New York cut which he insisted was a ribeye. I know enough about steaks that it was definitely a New York. I give this 4 stars for the 24oz bone-in cowboy rib eye but not 5, and almost 1 Star for something else... More about this in the 3rd paragraph. The cowboy ribeye was excellent no doubt. Truly enjoyable. Perfect temperature as ordered. But it was not dry-aged and lacked that last polish I would expect for a $95 piece of meat...this should have been about $20 less. I also had the ad-on foie gras, which was perfection. The near 1 Star drive-by review is due to fake well liquor being served for any brand you order. My ketel one martini was devoid of ketel one...I could tell at first sip but it's a bit more difficult with vodka to say for sure. Then, just to test this place, I ordered a shot of Jack Daniels, neat no ice, and sure enough was served terrible well whiskey.... I sent this back and it was replaced with the real thing with dumb excuses. What do you think? Is illegal activity worth my 4 stars for the steak? Should a place be allowed to charge $95 steaks and screw you with fake liquor to chase it down? Zero class. read more

Hands down the best food ever! I was craving lobster and I got pointed in the right direction. They would like you to be a little more dressed up, so coming in from a day of traveling. We were not dressed up, so they seated us in the basement. I was completely happy with- because I got my amazing lobster. And we started off with escargot- never had it before- it was also good! We had an opportunity to have heavy apps and drinks in the bar at Churchill's prior to a Candlelight Concert. The Burrata Platter is a "can't miss" choice, and the addition of Oysters Rockefeller was amazing. The drinks (Key Lime Martini, Lavender Lemon Drop and Elderflower Margarita) made Friday even more happy, but the icing on the cake...the pièce de résistance was our server, Hannah. She is full of joy, is personable, professional and makes great suggestions. She knows the menu well, as well the flavor notes. We will be back, and request Hannah each time. Old school flare, double white tablecloths, excellent service, warm & elegant interior, quality ingredients. The glass of L'ecole no. 41 Churchill's private reserve cab was superb & complimented the filet. The steak was properly prepared at medium rare but a bit more medium on the ends due to the charred edges. Not a fan of crispy onions that came on top of the steak. I didn't see any indication in the menu, but was glad the meat wasn't drowning in butter to hide its quality like many chop houses (ie. Ruth's Chris). Personally, I want to enjoy the meat w/o any sauce or toppings. However, a variety of topping add-ons are available to please any pallet. The crab cakes were some of the best, not ground or greasy! Crème Brûlée was complementary for our wedding anniversary dinner. Thank you! Low noise level dining, paid parallel street parking, reservations & business casual attire recommended.
