I asked if I could simply exchange it for something else. She said yes. I could find anything for the exact amount but I was willing to pay more for something else. But I was told she didn't know how to charge me the difference. She kept insisting I should come back. No thank you! She called her manager via phone who tried to persuade me to come back the next day, I stood firm. I wanted a refund or a replacement item. After about 30 minutes of whatever was going on, the manager walked her through the exchange via phone. It shouldn't have taken all of that. I won't be back.

That's a problem I see in most retail, but there is help in almost every corner of the store. - Presentation. Store seemed clean, organized and the way they present merchandise is awesome. It has a nice aesthetic to it. - Restrooms were decently clean. Cons - Returns can have a long wait, be sure that you have a receipt or a email pulled up. That too, and because maybe ten other people just so happen to have to return stuff on that specific time and day for some reason. - Trash cans were overfilling, I mean overfilling. I wish that the janitor service here could improve. - Some staff tend to be impatient, definitely. There are some good eggs, but some can just be meanies. - Some prices were unfair in my opinion. It's not their fault, but I just wish that some brands could lower their prices. I do still enjoy shopping here, but I definitely think there is more to be improved. Most of the clothes (especially dresses and tops) are geared toward small-chested, skinny chics, neither of which describes moi. However, I've lucked up with more than a few super cute finds. You really just have to try everything on and not assume it will or won't fit. This particular location is quite small in comparison to locations in other cities. They rarely have what I'm looking for so I end up buying mostly online and just returning here if it doesn't fit (you cannot exchange unless they have it in-store). I agree with other Yelpers' sentiment about the workers. Service is subpar. They are completely disconnected from the customer service aspect of retail. I may get a greeting upon arrival, but usually that doesn't happen. I usually feel like I'm bothering them when I ask a question. I hope St. Louis adds another store in Frontenac or West County. In the meantime, I'll come here only if I need to return an online order.

I trained for a single 5k. This is no sport for me. But walking is a sport for me, and I have some minor foot issues, so I find myself at Big River once or twice a year. This location is in the charming retail and small business stretch of North & South in (or near??) U-City. The staff are helpful. They make sure to analyze your stance and movements. They look at the wear on your current shoes. They will order the shoes in different colors. I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes for service. Usually I don't have to wait at all.
