I attended a gorgeous wedding at the Savannah Center and was impressed with both the venue, the attention to detail in planning, and the delicious catering. Savannah Center is tucked off of Union Center Boulevard in a vast green space. The wedding ceremony took place outside on a lovely sunny day. The couple said their vows inside a gazebo, which was positioned in front of a scenic lake and fountain view. The bridal party had a variety of places to take photographs, from outside, to the grand stairwell, to an area with posh seating that just so happened to match the wedding colors. Keeping with tradition, the bride and groom chose not to see each other before the ceremony. Each had private rooms on opposite ends of the building. After the vows, guests were led into a cocktail area, then later were seated in the dining room for the wedding party introductions. Dinner consisted of grilled chicken or filet mignon, with mashed potatoes and sauteed vegetables. I made a joke about mixed vegetables being "filler", but these were very tasty! It was a mixture of zucchini, red and yellow peppers, onion, and broccoli. The steak was succulent and as always, the mashed potatoes were devoured. I also enjoyed the pita chips that were served along in the bread basket. A small salad with red pepper ranch dressing was served for an appetizer. I'm not sure if the wedding cake was crafted by the caterers, but it was moist and savory. Throughout the evening, I spotted Mary, the wedding planner, keeping everything organized and on task. She works for Savannah Center and definitely had her hands full for this elaborate wedding: - Outside ceremony with about 150 guests - Live acoustic Celtic band: harp, flute, and violin - Five bridesmaids and five groomsmen, two flower girls, and a gigantic immediate family - Serving a three-course meal - A live band for the reception - A separate master of ceremony for the reception All of this, and she had to keep the bride and groom from seeing each other. Really like this venue for wedding receptions and ceremonies! I am a local wedding photographer, so I am at more venues than most. I have shot several weddings at Savannah Center - some included the ceremony there, too, in the outdoor area with the gazebo. First off, as a photographer, I really like the cool details in this venue. There's the staircase (to nowhere) which gets soft light from the windows by it - just perfect for gorgeous bridal and other portraits. I like the wood panel area with fireplace for the groom/groomsmen photos. The piano makes a great place to do photos - fun or otherwise. It makes for very cool wedding ring photos, too - with the reflection. The over sized chairs work well for photos of the bride and groom. And there's all the outdoor area/gardens. Even with the buildings in the background, there are ways to get great photos. Also, the food is very good - better than many venues/caterers. Another plus - you can't hear the music from other weddings. The bridal suite for getting ready is spacious and well appointed. Every time I've been there, the staff has been professional with good service. They've even helped move furniture in the main lobby for photos! In summary - I would definitely recommend The Savannah Center to couples looking for a wedding venue with some character and lots of pluses. I go here for work events like every quarter. The Savannah Center is one of the largest event spaces in the area, and they can easily hold several hundred people. They can move the walls around in the space to break up the rooms into smaller breakout areas. The building itself is nice...Not particularly beautiful or anything, but clean and new. They have a separate bar area near the gazebo that works great for a cocktail hour or smaller dinner. The A/V in the event space is very good. I've never had trouble hearing people with microphones, even from the back of the room. They have large projectors too. The staff are very friendly here. The food is pretty decent as well for an event space. They have one thing that my company always gets for happy hour, which is this brie cheese apple dip that is AMAZING. I go straight to the brie if I see it. This would be a great location for a work conference or corporate event. I could even see someone having a wedding here, but you would have to do a lot of decorating to make it look less generic. read more

The Savannah Center is a nice event center, with a very well-kept building and a pretty gazebo in front of a lake and fountain. We recently attended a wedding here and had a lovely time. The facilities were nice, though unfortunately not shrouded from the corporate park and buildings in the area. There is a very large ballroom with partitioning walls that can divide it into smaller rooms, and a pretty foyer for the wedding dance floor. The servers were great- at one point, I had picked up a bottle of salad dressing and got dressing on my hand, and a server noticed I was looking around for some way to wipe my fingers, and came back with a wet paper towel! The food was good- the couple opted for 6 serving tables (2 salad buffet lines, 2 carving table and potatoes buffet line, and 2 tables for pasta). It was a nice idea that the pasta table had a chef cooking on two burners to stir-fry your pasta with the toppings fresh, but practically speaking, it took a long time to get food for a wedding of 250. It would have been great for a smaller group. All in all, everyone had a great time and it all went very smoothly. This is certainly a location to consider, especially if you are thinking about having an outdoor ceremony. read more

We got married at Savannah Center in August. Our planner Mary was incredible and made sure that every detail was perfect for our day. They were very accommodating of our requests and on the day of our wedding I felt confident and relaxed knowing that everything was expertly taken care of. This is a large meeting place and good location for weddings and other big events. The conference I attended here had about 700 people. They actually didn't have enough parking but had plenty of space in the main meeting room. The food was good, though I think that it's catered. read more

It primarily got my attention because it has not been used a million times by other people that I know. I knew walking in that there was no other place I wanted to get married. We are at a wedding and I am SO IMPRESSED. Bartenders are awesome. Steve is my new buddy. One server is kinder than the next. Trinette was assigned to our table. She was professional and so accommodating. She was in the middle of serving & I mentioned about bringing a few more pita chips. Next thing I knew we had a full basket of chips. Savannah Center made me feel like a Hollywood Star! I had my very formal Hollywood Glam bridal shower at the Savannah Center and loved every part of this very special day. I loved pulling into a large parking lot and views of the beautiful lake and landscape. I loved the clean and spacious and rich restroom. I made my way into our fabulous room and my breath was taken away! It looked so beautiful. I was greeted by a very friendly staff and general manager. He made my soon to be Korean mother in law feel so special at her "first ever bridal shower" through his very genuine and hospitable manners. We were ROBBED at the Savannah Center. My wife and I chose to have our reception here not knowing all of the servers are temps hired through a 3rd party. Throughout the night a guest at our reception noticed a server using the front door instead of the rear doors to take dishes and meals out of the room. They thought it was odd and decided to watch him. Upon exiting the room the server was going through our box of cards and stealing the cards and cash! They confronted him and got his supervisor. His supervisor escorted him out of the building without checking him or his bags essentially letting him leave with everything he'd stolen. He didn't notify myself, my wife, my wedding coordinator, or the 2 policemen in my bridal party until AFTER he let him leave. Now because we don't know everything that was in the box and what was actually stolen, there's no way to press charges against him. We had 200+ people and after the event counted only 28 cards. The Savannah Center says because he's a "temp" and not their employee they are not responsible and there's nothing they can do for us. PLEASE think twice before choosing them for you event. read more

Bride's Worst Nightmare -It's difficult to know where to begin with our misadventures with the Savannah Center--them not showing up at the rehearsal, or the odor from a sewage backup wafting through the halls on our special night?? I sorely regret not heeding earlier warnings about the Savannah Center but was lured by its glossy veneer and off-season discount. We learned the hard way that management was neither professional nor reliable. Upon our initial meeting, "Kathyna" was not only late but also inebriated. Thirty minutes after our appointment was to begin--on a Sunday afternoon,mind you--she hastily answered a few questions, only to then brush us aside to tend to the couple scheduled for the next tour. Let me say that the facility is beautiful, and we were impressed with the amenities, including the ample bridal suite. So, despite this first impression, we followed up with "Mary," who was responsive and facilitated a subsequent tour. Later, when scheduling the tasting to finalize menu selections, we worked with the manager, Steve, because Mary was out sick. Despite my explicit instructions (relayed verbally and then via email) to forego shellfish due to a severe allergy, my filet arrived with crab meat on top of it. In front of our attendants, Mary then blamed Steve (her boss) for the mix-up, saying something to the effect of "stupid men." I then waited at least 20 minutes for a replacement filet, which arrived cold and flavorless. (I wouldn't be surprised if they ran water over the steak and then re-served it to me.) However, the rest of the food was delicious and it was clearly too late to back out, so we forged ahead. Two weeks prior to the wedding, Mary informed us that Kathyna would be standing in the day of, as she had a family event to attend. My fiancée promptly emailed Steve to voice our concerns about the shellfish, as well as Kathyna's professionalism--or lack thereof. Steve said he would personally oversee (and be present at) our event. After confirming the rehearsal date and time, we arrived to a dark, vacant Savannah Center. That's right; neither Mary (who had promised to facilitate the rehearsal) nor Kathyna actually showed up. After multiple (frantic) calls to all three, not to mention a good hour spent waiting in the parking lot in late December with our closest friends and family, we retreated to the nearby Marriott, where we were having food catered in. Despite more emails and VMs, the night passed with no call back or confirmation the event would happen until 10 a.m. the day of the wedding. Steve called, apologized profusely and offered to refund a fraction of the overall bill. Amazingly, the comedy of errors didn't end there. Take, for instance, the cake. Another reviewer said she observed staff eating her daughter's wedding cake in the back. I can only imagine that is what happened to ours. It should have fed 145 people. Our guest count was 114 (15 of them were small children). Yet, I only managed to grab a small piece in the beginning before the rest of it disappeared, along with our custom cake toppers. We would have inquired about this with Mary, had she not already snuck out of the building before the night ended. To be fair, no guests complained about the food. The wait staff was courteous. Even though our sweetheart table was served first, my meal arrived cold. So not worth the money...I can't reccommend this venue. If you do book, retain a lawyer and a copy of the health dept. inspection. read more

My husband and I had our wedding reception at the Savannah Center. We could not have been happier! Kathyna was the woman we worked with and we absolutely loved her! She answered all of our questions and took the time to give us suggestions for vendors and design elements. The food was fantastic and the service was exceptional. Don't waste your money. This place is more of a headache than you need while planning a wedding. Unless you only care about how the pictures turn out, don't go here. They took months to return phone calls and used the same excuse every time of having the wrong contact information. They also make up stuff to try to get you to pay more for things that you didn't agree on. They were very unaccommodating and had no flexibility. The chef was great, but you can get great food elsewhere. Don't make the same mistake. read more

My daughter had her wedding reception at the Savannah Center on August 4, 2012. Everything was perfect! Kathyna was such a great help. We used many of her recommendations and were not disappointed! The food was excellent. In fact, several people that had Filet at Jags the night before at the wedding rehearsal dinner thought that the Filet at the Savannah Center was better! Now that is a compliment! Personally, my salmon was delicious! The photos that we have seen so far are gorgeous! The wedding party went across the street and had pictures made in the cornfield! My daughter and son in law just had their wedding ceremony and reception at the Savannah Center in West Chester. In just looking at the Savannah Center I would have never thought we could have afforded such a beautiful venue, however with the many packages and options available it was totally obtainable. Let me first start by saying with the team we had you cannot go wrong. These guys will take care of everything, they are totally devoted to you, and they pamper and make you feel really special on your special day. Katina totally exceeded my expectations. Our vendors deemed as the "Dream Team": Spoon Fulla Sugar, Jeffrey from Say I do Weddings and Events, Thad and Christie from Everlasting Sounds, and certainly last but not least Katina from the Savannah Center, worked seamlessly together, working out every tiny detail. Everything was amazing and turned out much better that we could have hoped for. Thanks to all of you! The ceremony was held outside in the beautiful gazebo overlooking the lake and fountain, the cocktail hour and reception was held indoors. The hall is already gorgeous and by adding the beautiful flower arrangements by Say I do Flowers, and the up lighting by Everlasting Sounds is was absolutely amazing. Can't say enough good things about The Savannah Center! We had our daughter's wedding reception there in May of 2012. The entire staff was wonderful, especially Kathyna, our consultant. My son and now daughter in law had their ceremony and reception at the Savannah Center, and they could not have had it at a better place. They had 10 groomsmen, 10 bridesmaids, 3 ushers, 1 flower girl, and a ring barer, along with 230 guest. Everything went smooth with the help of Mary who works at the Savannah Center. The wedding took place outside, and the cocktail hour and formal reception followed inside. Mary made sure that everything flowed smoothly without any glitches. She was such a support throughout the whole process, even sending a thank you note to our home after the ceremony. I was really pleased to hear that cold bottled water was passed out to the guest as they went outside for the ceremony being that it was a very warm day. They even served the bridal party some of the appetizers that were passed at the cocktail hour while they were in the other area taking pictures.
