For some reason things just didn't align well with my baby's naps and feedings that day so it was hard to manage a tired baby but they managed to get real good photos of my baby and the family. My baby didn't really smile much yet but they were still able to get smiling pictures of her too. Very professional and works so hard to get the best pictures. I was truly grateful for this studio and loved my experience. Also the picture quality was amazing!! The backgrounds were cute and the clothes were so adorable too!! The price point is reasonable and I'd say cheaper than some others for a better quality. I think the turn around time to receive the photos were faster than we expected too. Truly appreciate working with this photographer. He really seems to love what he does and we are blessed with these amazing photos!!! Couple things to note/tips: 1. Go when your baby can smile. Yes after their neck strength gets way better too. My baby still can't really smile yet and she's 4 months old. I really wanted to push having 100 day photos when she was 3.5 months old so neck strength and expressions aren't expected. 1a. Also go when your baby is well fed, pooped, rested, good condition, etc. makes a world of difference. 2. They give you a looooot of photos to choose from. Be prepared to be pleasantly overwhelmed with photos. If you get decision fatigue then ask your spouse to help. Cause I loved getting the full gamut of photos. 3. They have a wardrobe but if you want your baby to wear something specific, bring it! Their wardrobe is pretty cute tho and fits with their backgrounds. 4. They have set backgrounds to choose from in their studio. The backgrounds are really cute but if you're looking for something specific, unique, tailored to you, the studio setting might not be for you. But tbh all 100 day, dohl, event photos basically look the same...so I would think it's odd to expect something different. I've seen tons of beach engagement pics. Tons of dohl pics with the same backgrounds and balloons. So why complain about a studio pic with similar styles and backgrounds or lack of variety? You're already the unique and different baby/family. So there's that. 5. Bring a toy or something that can get your baby's attention. I realized belatedly my baby likes to stare at herself in the mirror. She also likes her little fox doll. If your baby has a preference for a toy, perhaps being prepared like that will help with the experience! 6. Match your clothes with your family and partner beforehand. Clothes, accessories and shoes too so they look cohesive in the photos! Belatedly realized my husband's shoes didn't match any of our family's and my son's also seemed a little too bright. Oh well. However, the studio was incredibly flexible and worked with me to find dates and times that matched our schedules. Once there, both the photographer and assistant made it easy to take photos, kept my daughter laughing, and made each outfit/background change seamless. If you want to re-live your big day over and over again years later, James is your guy! My wife and I had never done a professional photoshoot. Neither of us are particularly comfortable in front of the camera. After interviewing 5 different photographers, we knew from our first conversation that James was the one. He is incredibly friendly, easy going, and knowledgeable. We agreed to do an engagement session, 1 location for 90mins to see if we'd be comfortable working with James. It couldn't have gone better. Initially, we were a bit stiff, but James gave us tips on how to act naturally, suggested poses and hand positions that made us feel and look relaxed. The time flew by and we actually ended up going to a second location with a wardrobe change. Overall, it was about 2 hours. James did not mind at all. In fact, he probably could've gone longer if the sun hadn't set on us! Our photos were edited and received in less than 2 weeks! James was kind enough to print a large poster and sign that shipped to our house in just a few days. He price matched any package/prints from other photographers. Having gone through our engagement session seamlessly, we hired James to shoot our wedding as well. He and an assistant were on site for 10 hours, tending to our every need and keeping us on our timeline. After our planned family/wedding party photos, we hardly even noticed them working as we proceeded with wedding events. After the wedding, we received many compliments on how great James was and several guests asked for his contact information. Within a couple of days, we received a preview of about 20 photos highlighting our big day. We were thrilled! Every important moment was captured so elegantly! The full magazine of photos was available for download in about 1 month. James then worked with us to print a high quality photo book for our coffee table.
