Fabulous employees!!!! Greeted when we entered. Offered a sample and they all talked to us as we debated over the choices!!!! Ice cream was tasty and we enjoyed sitting outside to eat it and watch all the kids come I. And leave with cones dripping everywhere! This is a cute local shop with a variety of ice cream flavors. There was no wait on a Saturday around noon. They efficiently served our group of 13 and charged us at once, taking our word for how many of each type of cone we got. I found the flavors to be good but not mind blowing. I wouldn't go out of your way to go here but if you have a craving for ice cream, this is a good option. My Cookies and Cream was solid, 3.5 stars. My Blueberry Cheesecake (3 stars) for whatever reason melted almost immediately and was fine although the blueberry tasted a little artificial. A Yelper described this store as "hidden" and I must say that there is no way anybody walking on River Street will miss this delightful store. No way at all. The overhead signage is eye-catching, and the aromas wafting from this place can cause a diabetic to swoon. There is nothing in the world of sweets that they don't have. Plus the best darned ice cream one could ask for. In one area of this oversized candy store, one can watch candy being wrapped, or taffy being pulled. It's a sight to behold. Cute shop selling assorted candies and chocolate truffles in addition to pralines and ice cream. I can see kids loving this place. We only tried the ice cream and highly recommend the Blueberry Cheesecake, which had actual chucks of delicious cheesecake, and Praline. The scoops were very generous and fairly priced. The best tasting ice cream on Tybee Island! The small store is packed with lots of small candies and plenty of ice cream flavors to choose from. The shopkeeper, Pixie, was super sweet and patient with our family, offering to write all the flavors down so I could share with the kids who were in the car during these Covid times. Pralines here are far better than on the commercialized River Street Sweets in Savannah! Got to watch them being made. Three young fun clerks in the shop. Cases were empty of goodies but got 4 pralines for about $10 (sold by the pound). Wish I had more time on the island. read more

I placed an order for Mother's Day on April 24. It is now May 6 and has not shipped despite repeated attempts to contact the company. Edit: After considering how one teen distracted me to ring me up immediately, and the teen girl in the back was laughing while she watched the guy getting my candy (she also made a point of VERY cheerfully wishing me a good day), I decided not to eat more than the first piece that we all tried. The pralines weren't even good enough to take the chance that the kid did something unsanitary to it just because I asked him to put on a clean glove. Original review: I wanted to let my family try pralines for the first time, and we stopped here. There is a mask requirement in Savannah and my home city in TN, but I don't know about Tybee. There were no other customers inside so I put on my mask and went in. The teens working inside did not have masks. The employee went to get my candy without putting on a clean glove so I asked him if he would. I have no idea how long he'd had that one on so it seemed prudent. I did apologize for asking. Another teen rang me up before my candy was bagged so I assume it is sold per praline and not per pound even though the employee getting my candy did put it on the scale once it was bagged (after I had paid). Living with this new fear of covid is difficult, especially when you feel like others are judging you for trying to stay healthy. If you are taking the pandemic seriously then you may not want to go here. One employee was already laughing before I left, and I'm sure they had some things to say after I drove away. The pralines were OK, but my family didn't like them. I've had some that were more similar to fudge around the nuts, but I tasted the grainy sugar in these too much. If you want to go somewhere that cares less about COVID-19 and social distancing then this is your place. Get a ventilator with your ice cream:-(. We arrived and it was empty so we assumed there were only a few people allowed in at a time. Could not be more wrong about that! Before we could leave there were wall to wall people jammed in and no one was wearing masks. I usually love this candy syore, but this summer it has earned 3 stars because their chocolate candy is melted on a couple of trups. They need to nix the chocolate candy in summer or keep it cooler. AMAZING Dole Whip! Pralines are almost as good as the ones you get on River Street! Lots of fun "penny" candy to get a good mix. Other bulk items like jelly bellies and gummies are available. I got some of the fruit slices but they were too stale to eat I'm not sure what anything cost because they don't have the prices listed. I will go back because it's not far from where I live and I like to support Tybee businesses. Try the Dole Whip ~? Two visits to This Tybee location have convinced us to not return until after the pandemic has stabilized. These folks have no markers for personal distance, and it is always busy. Customers are expected to distance themselves, which isn't happening, as the store is tiny and always crowded. The staff aren't wearing masks, and neither are the customers. When we politely asked the kid (with one gloved hand) ringing up our order why staff wasn't masked, he answered "It isn't required ". This is pretty frightening in a busy tourist town, when our county has continued to have rising record breaking Covid-19 infections. Pretty simple fix, but they obviously don't care, or imagine the virus response is overblown. A pity, as Savannah Praline has a great selection of bulk candy, Leopold's ice cream, Byrd's cookies, novelty sodas, and pralines. read more
