If you can get a reservation for the patio/grotto area, do it. It's like a cozy jungle cave. We went for drinks and dessert in the pouring rain, and though we got a little misted from our table, we stayed dry under the canvas. The live plants and twinkle lights really add to the ambiance. Our server was polite, and though we had an issue with a martini being too weak, they tried to re-make it for us, no problem. I love their espresso martini (with added baileys/cream), and this place has AMAZING rum cake. Some of the best cake on the island- it's super dense and moist. We have been there for dinner as well, and the food is great, but priced on the higher side. You can always stop in for dessert and a drink, though. This is one of the spots we keep coming back to, and you can get there by walking from Christiansted.

Lazy lobster with asparagus and mashed potatoes

What an awesome dining establishment. Food. Ambience. Service. All excellent. We sat in a covered outdoor courtyard that reminded me of a castle complete with torches and lights placed in alcoves imbedded in the "castle" walls. So romantic. My lazy lobster (taken out of the shell and cut into bite-sized pieces) was bathed in a buttery sauce and served over mashed potatoes. Three perfectly-cooked spears of asparagus completed the plate. One in our party ordered a vermicelli seafood pasta and said the taste was superb. Two others enjoyed freshly-caught snapper over rice. Super delicious. As first-time visitors to St. Croix, this was our first visit to a restaurant here, yet it won't be our last time to visit Savant.

Leading up to a visit with friends in St. Croix, much discussion centered on our trip being one of gastronomic indulgence. All our friend's hype about Savant did not disappoint. It was absolutely outstanding in every way and exceeded our expectations. We dined in the outdoor courtyard which was a treat for the senses. It is a rustic area bordered by brick walls and natural boulders, graced with giant philodendron and other arid plants, twinkle lights, and strategically placed fans which kept the area comfortable. Our server started us off with drinks, let us know what the specials of the evening were, and then returned to take our orders. There were four of us who enjoyed this evening of food and fun: one ordered the seafood vermicelli with a creamy tomato sauce that rivaled any Italian dish he had eaten while growing up in New York's Little Italy area and remarked that his dish may possibly have been the best vermicelli he has ever eaten. Two of us had the fresh snapper, encrusted and served over a bed of rice with broccolini as a side; I requested a ramekin of pineapple chutney that I added on top which boosted my selection to a divine level. The final guest in our group ordered the Lazy Lobster which was excellent and due a repeat. Fantastic evening, beautiful venue, fabulous food, great service!!

Got same day reservations. Old people time 530. But we skipped lunch and were starving. I got three appetizers. The chips pops, ceviche of the day w passion fruit and shrimp n magi, and the beet salad. Al super wonderful. My pal got the curry e the fresh mahi and said it was delicious! I had to have the hazelnut mousse cake. Sublime. Best meal in all of St Croix.

The food here was excellent. We were looking for a place off resort while in St Croix and this place was a top suggestion from the concierge. It was a good suggestion. The service was excellent for our family of four. This was the first place we ate, and thought the prices were high. Then we realized they were comparable to all places in the area, or probably the full island. The atmosphere was really cool to be in. It felt unique. The only complaint I'd say was the smell of the tiki torches inside the restaurant was pretty powerful.

I'm mostly upset about the service. We were greeted with friendly faces and our table wasn't ready yet so we got a cocktail at the bar. The bartender was lovely. The vibe was great. We got our seats and everything changed. We were ignored for a long time. No one greeted us. Finally someone came around maybe 10 min after we were sat and asked "have you been greeted yet?". No. We ordered three appetizers. That's how hungry we were. And that's how much we were ready to drop on a nice dinner. The courtyard is so cute and the vibe is there. However we were the forgotten children. We were so thirsty and the water was never refilled not once. Finally after what felt like forever our dinner came. The worst part was everything was really good. I loved everything we had. And the vibe was so good. We just clearly weren't made to be the priority. Or even to feel like a commoner. There was a large table that got sat not long after us that were clearly high rollers. I think this was a big reason why we were forgotten. Big shame. Big expectations. Food was great. Vibe was great. Unfortunately we were the black sheep of the night and it was unfortunately the reason why I won't give this more than 3 stars.

This was probably our favorite place to dine during our stay in St Croix. We sat in the open/covered patio in the back of the restaurant which was beautifully decorated. A+ ambiance. The staff was also very attentive. The food however was by far the best part of the night. The appetizers we got included the grilled calamari and then two specials including orange mahi ceviche and lobster egg rolls. It was all very good and would order all of them again maybe aside from the grilled calamari given it was a lot of seafood and that was probably my least favorite (albeit still good) of the three apps we ordered. I ordered the lobster dinner special which was delicious and a solid portion. My partner got the bacon wrapped pork chop which was massive. It was also very very good and probably the highlight of our entire dinner. We both tend to eat a lot and this might have been the first time we had a little difficulty finishing a meal, not complaining! Desserts were also great, we had the chocolate hazelnut mousse cake and the rum cake. Possibly the only note was that the drinks we had, the rum mules, left a little to be desired. But overall amazing experience, and a must go to when visiting STX

Great find in St Croix. The lazy man lobster was astounding. The waiter's recommendations were spot on. And you will love the outside patio area. I would definitely come back.

Savant is one of the best dining experiences in Christiansted. We took some friends here to celebrate their wedding anniversary and had a fantastic evening. I ordered the Wahoo, which was really, really good -- perfectly prepared and full of flavor. We sat in the outdoor courtyard area, which is beautiful and creates a great atmosphere for a relaxed dinner. The whole experience was wonderful from start to finish. We'll definitely be returning!

When on vacation, finding great restaurants is a must. I found this gem and was glad I did. The food was off the chain. The table ordered lamb chops, lazy lobster, the lobster tail was removed and ready to eat. The restaurant is on the small side which allows great service and we got just that. The restaurant had various seemingly random wall hangings leading to a nice eclectic feel. Thankfully I remembered pictures. Warning, do not look if you are hungry.

Front portion of the place. There is a bar to the right.

Absolutely wonderful meal and ambiance. The service was great as well. The lo mein noodles were wonderful. The drinks from the bar were also great.

Absolutely beautiful courtyard - I recommend this over inside! The food is mouthwatering- save room for the spiced rum cake; you'll thank me later! Service was amazing; drinks were delicious! I can't say enough about how amazing this place was... go there, but make reservations!

We had a fantastic dinner at Savant on Jan 10th. Every entree was amazing: lobster, duck, seared tuna & curry. The appetizers were likewise delicious and we ordered the grilled calamari twice because it was so delicious. We couldn't get enough. The atmosphere was lively, but also chill. The outdoor area is gorgeous. The indoor area is cozy. Our server was Brea who was absolutely fantastic. Keep in mind that you should make a reservation. Also I believe they are closed on Sundays.

Our server was very nice and helpful with recommendations. Multiple servers came around refilling our waters and making sure we were getting everything we needed. Our server had some good recommendations for cocktails and mocktails! The menu included a very large range of cocktails and mocktails (as someone who rarely drinks alcohol this was appreciated). Overall the food was good.. not great. Something about it seemed to be unfinished or missing that little sparkle that makes you remember a meal. For appetizers we had the Caesar salad, artichoke and crab dip, and the bang bang shrimp. Caesar Salad - This was enjoyable! The romaine was fresh and was tossed in the right amount of dressing and parm. However, the croutons were soggy and lacked almost all crunch. Artichoke and Crab Dip - This app seemed a little bland. There wasn't really too much of an artichoke vibe, or a crab vibe for that matter. The best was the cheese on top. The toasted bread that accompanied the dip was plain as well. Bang Bang Shrimp - This dish was tasty. The flavors were as described and cohesive. I liked how the shrimp were smothered in sauce but maintained their crispy! Skin Fried Snapper (Entree Special) - The presentation of this dish was pleasing, unfortunately that's about all I enjoyed of it. It came over rice, broccolini and corn. The fish was lacking flavor and the skin was soggy and squishy, no crisp to be found. The rice was definitely undercooked and the corn seemed to just be taken out of the can and put on the plate. The broccolini was very good. Desserts (Rum Cake and Chocolate Mousse) - As a big dessert person, these were delightful. The rum cake came out warm and was a nice consistency. The chocolate mousse was the star of the desserts. It was visually appealing and well as tasty. It was so light and airy while packing a flavor punch. 3/5 stars. We watched tables outside get seated after us fed and left before we even got food. Our waiter never removed cocktail glasses, never checked back. In fact, a waitress from the other side of the dining room checked on us and obviously it wasn't her issue. We watched a table seated ahead of us with two young boys finally get their food - burgers with no fries, no ketchup, no butter for the lobster etc. They waited another 15 minutes and asked another wait person for that after our waiter failed to return with the same. Besides some of the waitstaff being completely inept, I suspect that the kitchen is too small or understaffed. Either way - they should not seat tables that they cannot actually accommodate in some sort of timely manner. The place is beautiful though.
