Crab cakes: on several reviews, a popular appetizer.
    Rick R.

As with other restaurants in St Croix, we visited after reading glowing reviews of Cibone. We visited on a weekday, seated without reservation. The restaurant is found on King Street, one block parallel to waterfront street, Strand. Walking to the restaurant, one immediately notices small groups of men, sitting on the sidewalk and standing in front of a small grocery across the street from Cibone. They are in conversation, drinking beers, and the aroma of cannabis (legal in St Croix) wafts over the air. The scene was a bit disconcerting initially, but we walked to the restaurant and after dinner to the car, unmolested, barely noticed by the Cruzans. The restaurant is housed in a wooden structure, perhaps a house in prior years. Entering, the proprietor sits right of the smallish bar, the bar right of entry to the eatery. There are tables within the main structure, and tables left of entry on the covered patio. We were immediately greeted by the staff and directed to our table on the patio, patio seating always the preference of my dear lady. Micah, our waiter, filled our drink order, and presented the days menu, written on a small "blackboard" at the tableside. The menu was somewhat limited, and unfortunately, seafood dishes that we had read were not available, a consequence of the rough seas courtesy of Beryl. The restaurant serves fresh seafood, from boat to table...our misfortune. The restaurant offers a full bar, but interestingly, there is no wine list which one might peruse before choosing. We inquired of sauvignon blanc, and our requests were satisfied...the label we were never advised. We thought this curious, but none the less, the wine was satisfactory. We began our exploration of the menu with the Cibone crab cake. Three are offered on plate, with lines of sauce crossing the squares of cakes. Reviews had rated these cakes quite highly, but frankly we considered them heavy on breading, and light on crab. The appetizer was a bit of a disappointment. We chose the salmon, and unhappily, the fish was a bit overcooked, somewhat dry, lacking adequate sauce. The second entree was the grilled shrimp, and this dish was the better of the two, the shrimp well finished. But in truth, our expectations were of a true culinary delight, having read the reviews. The offerings overall were good, but not exceptional. For a satisfying meal, Cibone would satisfy most palates. The staff throughout were welcoming, of good cheer, but at times the service a bit slow. In fairness, there is a solo chef working with one sous chef at his side. This restaurant is very popular with the locals, but after our visit, we consider Cibone a work in progress, offering not elegant cuisine, but rather menu items borne of a home grown, self taught chef.

Great food and ppl, service was fairly fast. Ordered the ginger white wine mussels and Cajun seafood Alfredo and both were delicious. 10/10 experience, it would recommend making reservations beforehand

Another person here saying that it was one of the best meals of their lives! Absolutely delicious, wonderful flavors, and food cooked to perfection. We had mussels to start. Simply amazing - garlicky and ginger forward broth. We asked for bread later to soak up the rest of the juices. I had the whole snapper and they had the ribeye. Both were amazing! The snapper was probably the best I've had! We made reservations, so strongly recommend that. Some folks in other reviews complained about wait times - we didn't have to wait that long at all, but we took their earliest reservation and we knew what to expect with island time. If you're not used to island time, you'll likely be disappointed with many restaurants on the island.

Cibone is the place to go if you want local island hospitality and great food. Small menu, but it works. Everything on the menu feels local and well thought. I had the Cajun Seafood Alfredo, is a linguine pasta with seasoned shrimps. Not a lot of places know how an Alfredo is made. This was the perfect Alfredo, it felt I was eating a Carbonara without the eggs. Creamy, but not swimming in sauce, you can see they used fresh Parmesan cheese and not a cheap off the shelf imitation like other places. My server was a true islander, nice, friendly and with such a positive attitude. Cinone is the place for you if you want a nice dinner in a local island restaurant with an amazing atmosphere and great service.

Super intimate dining area off the main drag. Waiter and bartender were attentive and courteous. The food was inhaled. Perfectly al dente penne in a garlic cream sauce adorned with plump juicy grilled shrimp. Cocktail (gin) was crisp and a great compliment to the meal.

    The yummy bread.

I was in St. Croix last month for a vacation. I did all of my diving from a dive shop in Frederiksted and Cibone was right down the street. I wanted to grab an upscale dinner after diving so I went to Cibone. I sat down at the bar and ordered their Cajun pasta, which was awesome. The seafood in it was cooked perfectly and the cream sauce was awesome. It was a nice, little place to eat. Candle-lit tables and a great atmosphere. I would definitely come back here if I'm in Frederiksted again.

I loved everything about Cibone. For an appetizer, I was served the best crab cakes I've ever had in my life. My husband ordered the shrimp Alfredo and I had pan seared chicken in their house made bbq sauce. Service was excellent and the live music paired with the beautiful atmosphere made for an excellent evening.

Great food, with a home made feel - nice little corner in a sketchy area, service was great.... But know they are on island time.

If you're looking for a nice, modern place to drink that's clean and professional, then I highly…read morerecommend Legendz Lounge; especially if you're in Frederiksted. Walking through Frederiksted town St. Croix (on the west side of the island) I spotted this gem of a lounge on Market Street. Legendz Lounge is truly an impressive bar and lounge that will probably be one of the nicer local watering-holes on island; more specifically, Frederiksted. This place is a much needed factor on the west side because it caters more to the local island music and artists. As a matter of fact, I actually met the famous singer Pressure BussPipe there! Legendz Lounge is super spacious inside and gives plenty of room for the crowd to dance. They have excellent lighting with strobes and other effects to add to the ambiance. The air-conditioning is wicked nice and set to chill. There's an open-floor, bar seating, corner-seating, a VIP Corner and also (what looks to be) a VIP Room. Their bathrooms were also spacious and super-clean. Their full-bar will cater to almost any taste profile and they also carry a wide top-shelf variety for those with impeccable taste. I'm seeing as they just opened recently, they're still working on taking card payments, but they always take cash and there's an ATM just around the corner at the nearby bank (so that's not a dealbreaker). Overall, I can't wait to see what Legendz Lounge will do in the future with local artists and I love what they represent to the island community in west! I recommend!

Be sure to check out their beautiful back patio for events! Everyone there had great energy and they kept us dancing and drinking the whole time! There was lots of pub games like pool and darts (or musical chairs) so there was never a dull moment! All around wonderful time, a wonderful family run business and true entrepreneurs! If you are looking for a fun spot to grab some drinks be sure to check out Legendz Lounge and to hold a big L with your fingers in the air whenever you take a shot of their fantastic mamajuana! Oh and if you take a royal Caribbean cruse to the island be sure to check out the "poker run pub crawl." We wouldn't have found the place without it!

There was an open-air market right at the end of the port dock so we talked with several of the locals selling their wares. We were led to Tail End Bar and Restaurant via the recommendations of several local people. So glad we went!!! This is a small mom & pop restaurant and walking in you can smell all of the wonderful spices and flavor from the foods we were about to eat. We talked with the owner and explained our situation and need to try local foods and allowed her to make up a plate that included many of their specialties. We were not disappointed one bit! Oh my gosh...talk about food with such a special taste and all of the textures were amazing! Neither of us had tried Ox Tail before and although the wife didn't care for it, I loved it! I'm sure this is something that everyone makes differently so just going somewhere to order it may not be best because my first experience here was so good. It's flavorful and tender, albeit a bit fatty and full of bones. Loved it! We also had rice and peas (traditional Caribbean fare), stewed chicken which was flavorful and rich, Kingfish in Creole sauce (we both didn't care for this, it had a bit of fishy taste for me), and stewed pork. We also tried their version of Provisions, which is simply root vegetables cooked together with rich seasonings. Our version had sweet potatoes, plantains, and yams. We loved this dish! While we were eating we observed many locals coming and going, some ordering and eating there and others getting take-out. We could tell it's popular with the local residents! Overall we had a great experience here and I want to say thank you to the owners for providing such a great meal for us!

The lady and man working the place were really friendly and nice. I ordered the potfish in the creole sauce and my husband got the stewed chicken. The fish was tasty; the creole sauce was a little bland. I love creole anything being from Louisiana; but this sauce was a tad too tomatoe-ee and not super flavorful. The macaroni salad and the provisions were really delicious. The stewed chicken was ok; I really wish I would've ordered the turkey neck because that looked the best; but my husband wasn't feeling adventurous and got the chicken instead. It was good but it wasn't the best food we had while visiting the islands.
