Zenaida brings the vibrant flavors of the Dominican Republic to St. Croix, where she's been serving authentic, flavorful dishes for over 30 years. Her generous portions and warm hospitality make every visit unforgettable. Ig ShonaMyRealtor

Super yummy Latino / Caribbean food served and made by Zeny herself. Basically got whatever she recommended and were not disappointed. Also got Maduros (ripe fried plantain bananas) which were delicious!

    Bistec w/seasoned rice

The food was great..tastes like home cooking, because it essentially is! The place is small and very humble looking..but it was good. I make this dish myself (puerto rican style) and I beleieve this was the Dominican version. Zeny welcomed us and was very softspoken and kind. My bf had the conch and he wasn't a fan of the texture, but that has nothing to do with the cooking itself! Nice to support unassuming local businesses...please go! She said no deserts today, but maybe tomorrow I'll get a cheesecake, if you come? So sweet.

PERFECT Family owned restaurant for Local food. Their dishes were enough for two and was DELICIOUS. Expect the loving service of a home grown business and not that of franchise. As a matter of fact, I'm sure it was Zeny that served us.

    Bistec

Had the bistec. The portions were pretty big and the prices were reasonable. Would definitely come back.

We were looking for local flavor and flare and we found it! We enjoyed ice cold Presidente beer along with fried pork chops, a salad, and flavorful seasoned rice. We were treated like family, though our wonderful waitress wouldn't come off the recipe for her delicious, homemade pepper sauce and hot sauce. (Can't say I blame her. It's got to be award winning.) This is definitely a place to go to often!

We did the bottomless mimosas and Bloody Marys -- the drinks were so good, and you can even mix them yourself! I had the bagel sandwich, and it was honestly one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. You have to try it. The location is perfect, right on the boardwalk with beautiful views, and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. For dinner, we came back and were just as impressed. I ordered the crab fries -- phenomenal. My boyfriend had pasta with mussels, and it was packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. And again -- the drinks were amazing! Nate's Boathouse has great food, incredible drinks, and a perfect island atmosphere.

Bill was courteous, friendly and attentive, even sharing a few good stories of his two year tenure. Ask him to share his run in with a Danish patron, wow! Overall, food, service, cleanliness makes this a go to spot again!

Fortunately for us,…read morewe got a great table in the grotto, and we were warmly welcomed individually by all of the staff. Service from top to bottom was outstanding. Attentive without being overbearing. And then there's the food and drink. First off, I love red wine and once upon a time amassed a pretty legit 800+ bottle collection. They had gems from my cellar on the list! On an island in the middle of the Caribbean! What?! I've not seen Turley on a wine list outside of the mainland in a decade, for example. And they had 4 different Turley options. Including one by the glass. Amazing. The food matched everything that preceded it; simply outstanding and captured a sublime balance of island and haute cuisine. The Lazy Lobster crawled mercilessly into our bellies, melded with plush mashed potatoes and perfectly al dente asparagus and a delicate sauce. The Lamb Shank masterpiece, served over gnocchi and the most wonderful au jus, melted over the palate, delivering a resounding umami "whoa" tingle. Both paired beautifully with our wine selections. Dessert was a rum strawberry masterpiece, complimented by one of the best espresso martinis we've ever had, and a generous pour of Angel's Envy bourbon. One of the best meals of our lives, anywhere, and we've been to some of the best restaurants on the planet. Maybe it was the sea breeze, maybe it was kismet, but regardless, we loved it start to finish and highly recommend Savant. We're no idiots!

Around the back of the restaurant is a covered outdoor courtyard with lush plants, a full bar, and lots of seating (extra points for the fans, the air circulation is phenomenal). Next the service. Impeccable. Every person that we encounter from the host, the bar tender and the waitress were so very friendly. I appreciated the recommendations that they had to offer on food and drinks (because everything looked so good). Some of the best service I've had on the island so far. Now finally, the FOOD!! You could tell it's was going to be good just from how the staff spoke about it. We had three appetizers (lobster egg rolls, ceviche, and calamari). Each were very unique and flavorful, great size for sharing, everything you hope for in good appetizers. For my entree I was torn between many different things, but with the help of staff I decided to go with the bacon wrapped double pork chop. And WOW I'm so happy I did. I always fear with pork chops of a dry, hard to chew meal but this was far from reality. The cut of meat was so juicy and easy to cut and chew. The flavor was fantastic. Cooked to perfection. For dessert I decided to go with a classic vanilla rum cake and it was perfect. I loved Savant, it was an experience from start to finish. 10000/10 recommend that you try this restaurant when on St. Croix!

Truly each of these dishes had something special about them and were all FANTASTIC! Presentation, texture, flavor all amazing. I still think about the Brie five days later writing this review. I wish I took more photos! For entree I had the steak. It was a New York Strip with house made chimichurri, and a sweet potato mash. Wow it was the best steak I've had in a long time. All the flavors on the plate complimented each other so beautifully. Again, I wish I took more pictures!! Dessert was a delight all on its own. The Crème Brûlée was smooooooth as can be. Not a single lump or bump. The plantain foster really did steal the spotlight on the dessert. It was warm and gooey and flavorful and perfect! There was some foster sauce left over that we ended up mixing with some crème brûlée and it was heaven. One of the intriguing aspects of this place was the chef was on the TV show 'Beat Bobby Flay'... iykyk. I definitely can see how he beat him. Our server was very nice and helpful with recommendations. Multiple servers came around refilling our waters and making sure we were getting everything we needed. Our server had some good recommendations for cocktails and mocktails! The menu included a very large range of cocktails and mocktails (as someone who rarely drinks alcohol this was appreciated). Overall the food was good.. not great. Something about it seemed to be unfinished or missing that little sparkle that makes you remember a meal. For appetizers we had the Caesar salad, artichoke and crab dip, and the bang bang shrimp. Caesar Salad - This was enjoyable! The romaine was fresh and was tossed in the right amount of dressing and parm. However, the croutons were soggy and lacked almost all crunch. Artichoke and Crab Dip - This app seemed a little bland. There wasn't really too much of an artichoke vibe, or a crab vibe for that matter. The best was the cheese on top. The toasted bread that accompanied the dip was plain as well. Bang Bang Shrimp - This dish was tasty. The flavors were as described and cohesive. I liked how the shrimp were smothered in sauce but maintained their crispy! Skin Fried Snapper (Entree Special) - The presentation of this dish was pleasing, unfortunately that's about all I enjoyed of it. It came over rice, broccolini and corn. The fish was lacking flavor and the skin was soggy and squishy, no crisp to be found. The rice was definitely undercooked and the corn seemed to just be taken out of the can and put on the plate. The broccolini was very good. Desserts (Rum Cake and Chocolate Mousse) - As a big dessert person, these were delightful. The rum cake came out warm and was a nice consistency. The chocolate mousse was the star of the desserts. It was visually appealing and well as tasty. It was so light and airy while packing a flavor punch. 3/5 stars. I would give Harbour Prime another try next time I'm in STX!

We had the Rasta Pasta, the Seafood Chowder, the Crab Cakes - I cannot recall what the 4th person in our party had - but 2 entrees, 2 apps., a side salad and one cocktail - $160. The service was atrocious. The waiter didn't come to get a drink order (not even water) for 20 minutes. Then we waited over an hour for our food. We watched tables outside get seated after us fed and left before we even got food. Our waiter never removed cocktail glasses, never checked back. In fact, a waitress from the other side of the dining room checked on us and obviously it wasn't her issue. We watched a table seated ahead of us with two young boys finally get their food - burgers with no fries, no ketchup, no butter for the lobster etc. They waited another 15 minutes and asked another wait person for that after our waiter failed to return with the same. Besides some of the waitstaff being completely inept, I suspect that the kitchen is too small or understaffed. Either way - they should not seat tables that they cannot actually accommodate in some sort of timely manner. The place is beautiful though.
