Avoid this place at all costs! I had been a customer for over a decade and Brian came by to estimate some basic fall clean up work - no major tree removal just limbs and such. When I got his estimate it was for over $7000! I read it twice thinking it was a decimal error. When I told him that was ridiculous a day later he suddenly found a 10 percent discount which he never offered before which made the entire operation even more sketchy. I immediatley cancelled my contract and my landscaper will do all that is needed for under $500. At the very least get several estimates before dealing with these people. What a difference with SavaTree - You cannot even contact the headquarters - their CEO cannot be reached and mailbox is not taking any more messages I was going to give feedback - I had been a customer for over 15 years and now I cannot continue. Their "arborist" Nick was rude, rushed and did not explain. I do not recommend Savatree any longer. Ryan Berk should really get to know his company now that he is in charge. RUN! DON'T WALK! IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING SAVE A TREE, SAVE YOUR MONEY! CHOP IT DOWN YOUR SELF BUT DON'T HIRE THEM! THEY WILL KILL EVERYTHING ON YOUR PROPERTY. We had recently purchased a property and Save a Tree claimed they had serviced this property for the previous owner for 18 years yet they could never figure out what trees were on our property that they were charging us almost 2k to service. In terms of the tree removal and trimming, after we paid the deposit & had the company come out with all of their staff equipment we realized that they will only trim the trees according to how they feel they should be cut NOT how we wanted it cut, but that is only a part of their terrible performance. The entire summer we spent calling them up and telling them that one tree or another was turning brown. After doing a 2nd walk thru on my property, I realized they were spraying my neighbors trees. After doing a 3nd walk thru there were trees still dying on my property because they thought the trees belonged to my our neighbors. What? Both of my neighbors have fenced in properties and they still could not figure out what trees were on my property. (Sad, that People that are in this line of work can not figure out what trees belong to whom when properties are fenced in.) Once the weather cooled, I saw trees loose all of their leaves at the first frost and knew they were dead. When I had other arborists survey the property, I realized it was even worse then all of numerous dead trees and shrubs. Everything was diseased or on the verge of being attacked by bugs or dead. The kicker is a Blue Atlas tree that has been attacked by a wood pecker for 2 years. Save a tree trimmed that tree and never said there was a problem with it. Never treated it but certainly charged for it. Even now they don't take responsibility for not treating it. Claiming that the damage is from a Sap sucker not a wood pecker and they don't kill birds. Well, a Sap sucker is part of the wood pecker family and the tree can certainly be treated and not allowed to die especially when they were hired to save trees( Brian, you are in the wrong business if this is the lie you tell clients after sending untrained staff out). And if a Sap sucker is killing the tree, why not recommend taking it down. Why trim it in the first place? After speaking to Brian from Save a Tree, he and his "boss" decided to take no responsibility. The trees either died because there was very little rain during the summer months( we have a sprinkler system that watered them 30min every other day. Or because the winter was to cold(the neighbors trees didn't die and they should have been sprayed with a winter guard.) Or because they didn't service the property for 6months(well, trees are dormant during the winter). And they don't kill birds( really good one, how about spraying a replant?). Or that the trees were diseased already( why not state that the trees are diseased and would not survive with treatment?) We paid almost 2k for this service only to then have to spend thousands more on tree removal. read more

My wife got an estimate to take a tree down in our front yard and trim another one. She submitted a $150 deposit and was told that someone would call and set up the appointment. Weeks went by without any call after they took our $150. After almost three weeks I called and was greeted with confusion. I asked for a refund and the woman started giving me options. No, I just want a refund now. She started shouting over me about my options which annoyed me and I vehemently stated I just wanted a refund. She told me the refund would take 7-10 business days. This is nonsense. My bank and Visa told me they could process it within minutes if they were so inclined. They took the deposit out of my account within minutes but need 2 weeks to return it? Sounds like a way to hold onto my money for over a month and doing absolutely zero for it. After asking her about this she just hung up the phone. Still waiting for my refund. Had an estimate from good ole Brian and his magic hammer. He came around one day and thumped on some trees in my backyard. He showed me some rot and fungus damage and recommended some other trimming. A few keystrokes on his magic Ipad and the work came to 4300.00 I dug deep into my pockets but all I had was lint, so I asked for an itemized listing. Two months later NOTHING. SO I emailed the company and FINALLY got a breakdown of each tree. I Submitted a counterproposal, for a modified job and leave the wood not chip it up, to save 200. I never heard back from them. Another email produced nothing as well. I have moved on and the trees are still standing strong. Well I guess they are either too busy or don't need my money. It is common courtesy to respond to a customer, but not in this case. And I use them for my lawn. Go Figure! read more

Brian Brunsch evaluated the situation, and with safety foremost in mind, removed the trees on schedule for a fair price (I know because I got two other quotes).
